This is hands down my favorite place in town. A few blocks from Nicollet ave., and well worth the walk. Great happy hour(house cut fries with aioli –just ask for two aioli you won’t need the ketchup– or wings). And the colcannon for an entrée. Never seen it anywhere else and now my favorite meal. I’m usually opposed to getting the same dish twice without trying other things, but there’s no need with that colcannon. I get it every time and don’t even notice it has no meat.

Nice place, has that old pub feel, felt at home. Had a genus poured perfectly! This place has history, very cool! Bathrooms need updating, not a big for guys but the ladies need a little more. Had the fish and chips, off the hook good, makes the place in Omaha look bad!!!

A sorry excuse for an Irish pub. The worst Guinness I have ever had. Bartender was pouring them like miller lite. Somebody even tried to help him and he said he was behind the bar and he will pour how he likes.

Great food, relaxed atmosphere, love this place. I had the egg burger and it was nice and runny and delicious.

Nice classic pub atmosphere, very good food, and good service. The flatiron steak was great quality for the price, and the cheese curds were delicious. Not very crowded at the moment, so nice for a quiet lunch.

Stumbled on this on Saturday afternoon unsure of what even sounded good. Can’t go wrong with good pub food though and this was good. Poutine with fried egg. Nuff said. I’m not a drinker but the bar was hopping and the choices looked ample enough. Enjoy yourself.

Baretender was friendly, and I had the Fish and Chips, really good traditional food. I would definitely try this place out. The atmosphere is dark and pubby, great place to watch sports and have a beer with friends.

I’ve been meaning to hit the new Dan Kelly’s since I heard about the renovation in January. I love Republic, so I was excited to hear that the same guys are now running this place. Plus I love Irish pubs. We met up with some friends from out of town last night. I wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere is dim and cozy. The beer list is fantastic. Among us, we tried the pub burger, the turkey burger, the fish and chips, the corned beef and the bangers and mash. Everyone was quite impressed by the food. Service was also excellent. Glad to have another great spot for Irish pub grub and beer downtown.

I have eaten her twice and really like it. The squash and lentil veggie burger was excellent. I liked the food prior to the change in ownership, but loved the new items. I will be back to try something else.

Recently remodeled — this is a text book Irish pub that might actually put some people off as being too authentic(if there is such a thing) in that they play Irish music, have typical offerings of Irish food, paraphernalia like old boxing glove on the bar, etc. I stumbled in here for lunch and sat at the bar — the server was friendly, the turkey burger delicious, and the taps tempting(it was a work day so no fun). All the food is sourced locally. They have TVs but it didn’t look like they had space for live music. It will be interesting to watch this place to see how they do and what kind of events they do for St Patrick’s day.

I work in the neighborhood, so the old Dan Kelly’s was an inevitable staple of lunches and happy hours. And I have to say, WOW. What an upgrade! This new Dan Kelly’s has preserved what was good about the old décor, added a modern menu with an Irish focus, and tried to do everything from service to food to drinks better. It has succeeded. The lunch service was friendly and prompt. The food was a notch above similarly priced offerings in the area. The menu is approachable with just enough adventure. Loved my experience. Will be returning often.

I checked out the new DK Pub, and it was still solid. Friendly staff and good food. Fish and chips were great, with homemade curry ketchup and tartar sauce that were excellent. They also source their meat(and other ingredients) locally, which is a plus. They haven’t done a grand opening yet, so décor and entrance were very low-key, but I’m sure it will be great when it «officially» opens!
