Eddie Bauer

A compact shop on the 2^nd fl of MOA with a great selection of clothing. This brand of rugged outdoor style clothes has been around for about 90 years so I think they know what we like. Now similar to L.L. Bean, REI, and Urban Outfitters this store has a wider variety of clothing and now features running and walking shoes in a limited selection. The service if helpful and friendly. I check the web site and receive a paper catalog (yes, those are still made). Sometime the naming of a style from the corporate information does not match anything in the store. This is the only confusing problem. The styles and variety change so quickly the retail outlets can’t even keep up and don’t always know what I’m talking about even if I bring in a page for the catalog (hint: buying sign), because the clothing may not always be in the retail outlets. I have had to order from the web site rather than visit a store which is fine in some cases as they have greater selection on the vast web site and it is easy to order. Don’t use the store computers! It’s 1999 forever.

Store service good, on-​line in-​store system sucks!
I needed a new winter jacket and Eddie Bauer seems to be the only place I can find one I like.
I stopped into the MOA store to see what they had. The do not carry specialty sizes in the store, which I knew, but I really wanted this jacket on sale. So, the sales associate directed me towards the on-​line system. Now, I have no issue purchasing something on-​line, but if I’m in the store I would just prefer to have it done for me.
A lot of places will do that, but Eddie Bauer does not. Another thing they don’t do is have a computer that is user friendly. The damn mouse was all messed up and the credit card reader didn’t work. The guy had to keep coming over to help me. He even said it was a piece of garbage.
Did I get my jacket? Yes. Was I irritated throughout the whole process? Yes. Do I want a Friends and Family Card? Not really, but I signed up anyway.
I should have just ordered it from home on-​line, but what’s done is done. I’m warm, happy and stylish in my new jacket.
