I have been practicing Minnesota divorce and family law since 1996, and this is the exclusive focus of my practice. (That said, because «family law» is not a «specialty» in which the Minnesota State Bar Association offers certification, I am not allowed to advertise myself as a «specialist.»)

History

Established in 1996.

Eric C. Nelson, Attorney began practicing Minnesota divorce and family law in 1996, after serving as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lois J. Lang in Itasca County for two years prior to that. This is a solo practice that provides very individualized attention to clients. My practice has always been located in downtown Minneapolis, first at the Flour Exchange Building, and since 2001 at the Old Republic Title Building. I have handled hundreds of cases of divorce (both contested and uncontested), child custody, visitation (a/​k/​a parenting time), out-​of-​state moves, domestic abuse, harassment, child support, spousal maintenance, and other miscellaneous family law matters, both in and out of court.

’96 — Present: Solo practice as divorce and family law lawyer.
