Escape MSP

Kind of a weird location but don’t let that stop you from going to this. Me. Dupree room was a good time, we were probably 5 min away from solving. I would recommend, 11 and 14 year old that were with us got more clues than anyone and really liked it.
I’d recommend and will be going back for the other mission and upcoming new missions as well.

Wow! This is a great experience. Without giving up any of the clues, let me say that this is a challenge. Teamwork is key. Use whatever you have as a resource and talk.
Our group was a work event and two large teams going into separate rooms trying to figure out the escape within one hour. One team accomplished it with 11 seconds to spare and our team failed. It is not claustrophobic but it is challenging.
Leave nothing unturned. Be quick, be thorough, be patient and observant.
There are clues and there are fake clues and then there is Jake, my bastard teammate who I shall hope to immortalize in this review as the bastard.
Definitely worth doing again.

My friends and I were glad to have a chance at this puzzle room, but we were sadly disappointed by the implementation. Puzzles that were not very well thought out (one person touching the wrong thing meant we were not able to solve a puzzle crucial to us escaping the room!), the host was a little condescending (he made fun of people who couldn’t perform specific knowledge that he considered «basic» but many people would reasonably not understand), and a flimsy and unnecessary storyline.
On the plus side, my friends and I left with our minds racing with ideas about better potential implementations. We are excited to try other escape rooms, though we probably won’t be back to this one (for a long while at least).

This was part one of my bachelor party. It was totally the perfect start! The room was awesomely orchestrated and I had the time of my life!
If would recommend it for any group of people who want to really get into character and pull off a heist. I need to go back for the other room.

I was a little shy about doing this at first, but my wife really wanted to so I surprised her and signed up for our anniversary weekend. Afterwards, I really regretted that we waited so long. This is way more fun than I expected!
Here are a few tips that might make your experience better:
1) Come about 15 – 20 minutes early. You can sign the waiver online ahead of time. It’s worth it to get in and get settled.
2) Prepare to suspend reality for an hour. This is supposed to be fun, don’t get all stiff and adult-​like. HAVE FUN, embrace the theme and let your imagination go for an hour. You’ll have a lot more fun.
3) Come with a group of 6 or 8 people that you already know (if you can). It was difficult being in a group knowing just one other person. There is a lot of teamwork required, and you only have an hour. If you don’t know the people in the group ahead of time, it makes it hard to interact. Don’t be shy!
4) If you do «James Bomb», then expect to be handcuffed behind your back. It’s uncomfortable, but it is temporary.
5) Wear comfy clothes, it was hot in there. Don’t rush, take your time and look over everything. Have others check your work.
This is a great idea for bachelor (ette) parties, birthdays, office parties, etc. It’s a great time regardless of age — I can’t wait to do another one.

What a fun place! We were so engaged the time flew by. Would definitely recommend it!

We recently visited Escape MSP for the first time for a friend’s birthday party. The Mr. Bomb activity we did was pretty fun and creative. I think the maximum people per group for Mr. Bomb should be lowered a bit. 10 people swarming around the room resulted in a bit of over-​crowding and a few of us sitting idle due to lack of something to do. Also, the safes used in the room were very difficult to unlock due to a very long reset timer on the digital one and finicky gears in the manual one. Replacing those would have made the activity more fun.
Kevin made a great point below in his review. I would also recommend only doing this activity with your friends or co-​workers. We were grouped with a couple random people who negatively impacted our enjoyment of the experience.

Best experience I’ve had in a long time! At first it seemed pricey but it was well worth the 30 $ per person. Or family tried to escape the office (unsuccessfully) it was actually really easier to underlook and over think things. Overall I am very happy we picked this and will definitely do it again at the location in my hometown! They do provide clues so don’t worry! And after its all done if you «fail» the mission they do make mention of what you had to do.
Definitely try this attraction!!! My entire family lived it-​and it reminded all of us of the spy movies on TV!

Our group of 6 had an amazing time at Escape. Don’t be fooled by the looks of the place. It’s a perfect team building activity. We can’t wait to try the other room next time!

Really fun, worth the money and a great time. We had a good group with a couple random people but I think everyone had a blast. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because one of the clues (no spoilers!) just wasn’t very logical but other than that I highly recommend the experience!

Went with a group and had a great time. If you’ve ever played an adventure game, you’ll love playing the game in real life. There are a number of challenges and people will have to work together to get through. The only drawback I can think of is, if you are going with just a couple people, you’ll be partnered up with strangers and your experience will vary. Overall, it’s a lot of fun and a unique challenge.

Too expensive. We all had a good time and escaped the room… but after experiencing it, I won’t go again for $ 30. $ 5 – 10 less is more manageable/​accurate. I’d also recommend taking an entire room’s worth of friends rather than being paired up with random other people. Our random people were nice enough, but didn’t communicate well with us… so we wasted a lot of time not knowing some clues that were found by the others. Wish I could give 3.5 stars.

A friend organized this for a birthday outing for our group of 6. I was a skeptical at first after reading more online but I loved it! We attempted mission 2 which was really interactive and gave us a great bonding experience. We didn’t complete the challenge successfully, but I would definitely return to try the second room.
I could see this being a great event for a corporate event as well as a team building activity.

Best thing to do in Minnesota. Seriously. I did this for a work function and it was great. I’m going to definitely do it again with family comes to town. I can’t give you details, but it’s a find clues to get an objective thing. Very safe and interactive. Totally worth it!

Loved, loved, loved it! Really fun idea/​event to do with a group of friends or family. The staff is fun and creative, the game is challenging, and it’s totally unique. Check it out!

My friends and I were pretty skeptical about this one. After finding out about the place through LivingSocial, then realizing it was in a business park, we weren’t sure what exactly we signed up for.
Simply put: it was amazing. A challenging, team-​based puzzle game to escape an office. It’s really hard to describe without giving anything away, but you have to use clues and ingenuity to find a way through a story and get out of a room. Can’t wait for the second mission!

We were incredibly skeptical going into this. It seemed a little shady and seedy when we first pulled up and had NO IDEA what to expect! However, we all agreed this was one of the cooler things we have ever done!!! We had such a blast and it was the perfect mix of challenging, fun and enjoyable. Our only disappointment was when it was over and we couldn’t do it again or in a different room!
Everyone should go to this and we easily would’ve spent double to do this. Well worth it in every way!
We will definitely be coming back when the next room opens!

One of the more surprising experiences of my life. Bought a Groupon on a whim with three other friends and we were extremely skeptical for what we were going in to.
Safe to say that we loved it. Such an original experience. It was worth every penny even at full price. We’ll be back in October when they open the second room.

I was a little skeptical about being locked in a room, but this. was. awesome! Went with a group of friends and we had a blast! Very detailed theme and the guy running it was great. Highly recommend!
