Excelsior Blvd & Lake St Crossing

Oh stop light how you thwart my driving progress!!! If there were a typable word for how I hate thee, I would use it!
Could it be that the original plan for this stretch of road was that only four cars would ever be at the light at a time? Because unless they put up these badly timed lights in the 1960’s that just isn’t the case. This is quite possibly one of the busiest intersections in a tri-​city area (excluding Lake & Hennepin, but that’s a totally different story… the lights there WORK).
Just yesterday I found myself inching forward in traffic that would look more at home stopped on Highway 35, and not on a surface street.
Quite possibly the most irritating thing about this though, is that if you are trying to get off Lake and onto Excelsior, good luck if there are more than two cars in front of you. You get the great pleasure of waiting ANOTHER 5 minutes for the light to change!
Even without traffic though, I should say, I have sat at this light when there were no cars coming at all. And it was still an entire song on KDWB that played before I was allowed to cross this horrible intersection.

Either put up a bridge, or by me a flying car. You pick.
