Love this place, they have frozen pelmeni and Russian chocolates by the pound. Great prices on Caviar and ikura(salmon roe) If anybody expects to get service with a smile at a Russian store they must be insane.

A good Russian friend recommended this store to me. I have been there 3 times and most likely will never visit again. The reason is each time I visited I got a rude service(or should say NOSERVICE) from an older lady at the counter. She did not want to assist me with cutting meat or a piece of cheese, answer a questions about a product and even frowned at me, LOL! She hardly speaks any English. I understand that this is a Russian store in MN, but some basic communication skills would be nice and I would say necessary if you operate in a foreign environment. But what mostly turned me off is no effort whatsoever to help the customer. Each time I visited was in a mid-day during the week and the store was empty so it was not like the counter lady was overwhelmed, just did not care. I think she was happy I left so my recommendation is please, do not visit, support ethnic stores that value you as a customer! Good Russian store to visit is Arkady’s market, also in Plymouth, MN and the service is always very nice. Arkady’s has good variety of foods(meats, cheeses, pickled products, breads and sweets also some videos and newspapers if you can read Russian), affordable prices, as well as smiling and helpful faces at the counter.
