This place makes me feel like I have Lebanese family, greeting me with warm hospitality and overfilling my plate with delicious, homemade food — all cooked with fondness and care. Yeah, family wouldn’t charge me for food, but with prices this low, I feel like I’m just chipping in. Everything in the deli is delicious, except for the pita bread(I think they purchase it from someone else). I’d like to see fresh, soft pita bread here, but it won’t keep me from frequenting this place. This is family recipe food. If you are downtown and tempted by the«fast» food Middle Eastern Grill, skip the long line in the Bank Building and find this place.

This little market is located a couple of blocks down the street from the Aloft Hotel. Stopped in to buy some V-8 juice for the week to stock in my hotel mini-fridge as well as some bottled water. I was looking for single serving bottles of V-8 — which they don’t carry. So I went with the large bottle — they currently only carry the spicy V-8 juice — which for me was fine.

Working in a neighborhood where sandwiches and pizza are the best workday delivery options, Gold Medal’s deli is a unique and delicious lifesaver. I love the Lebanese salad and the Mediterranean chicken salad, but the eggplant salad is my very favorite! It is out-of-the-world. The staff are friendly, and the deli has a great selection of beverages!

I’m so happy the former Mill City Market has been reopened. I live in the building and eat here often. It’s so nice to just stop in and get a warm meal to go but I figured my monthly food budget would lessen, since I was spending $ 30+ for many meals(2 meals via Bitesquad) but it really hasn’t. Pro: parking is free inside a garage(for those outside of building), space is clean, the have great product one cannot find at other groceries, tabouli and greek salad are nice, the grilled chicken sandwich, beef sticks in cooler, tiramisu, Ive seen them giving a discount for people wearing a badge Con: spendy — I seem to spend $ 15+ meal still, the badge discount would be nice for people in the building, not a fan of the beef gyro meat(looks like prepared pastrami only brown) Recommendation: like to see real lamb gyros, chicken wings, fries, a frozen yogurt stand(with fixings), Redbox

I was so glad to see this place open. My company moved its offices back to it’s former HQ building and there was little around that was reasonably priced and good tasting. Then Gold Medal Market opens! It’s my ‘go to’ place for lunch. I love the garlic lemon chicken with two sides. Also, the Turkey, bacon avocado sandwich and their gyro are great! Good olive bar, great tasting humus too. Nice people, good food, reasonably priced. Plus, if I need something to bring home, they have a great selection.

Great market. I moved to this neighborhood and didn’t expect much when I walked in but pleasantly surprised by everything. Loved the deli and olive bar. The people are really nice. I had some bad experiences when I lived near Heritage Landing downtown with their Rund’s market but this one is much cleaner for a small shop downtown. Great selection and everything you really need. Can’t go wrong with a place like that in the neighborhood I just wish they were open later.

I am so grateful for this market in Downtown East. It is not only an excellent convenience market, but a fabulous Middle Eastern Deli. The fresh-made hummus, baba ganoush, kibbe, gyros, salads and baklava are absolutely first-rate. Feta and lots of olives are so welcome. A great selection of fresh vegetables and fruit make this one of the healthiest shops around. You won’t find anything this good within miles. You can self-cater a whole picnic or dinner here for far less than you would pay at a restaurant. The owners are friendly and eager to please. Everyone should know about this great place. There is free parking in the retail garage approached from 11th Avenue S. With the wine store next door and Izzy’s Ice Cream around the corner, there is no reason to go more than a block to get everything you need. Congratulations to these folks. I hope they will be well supported.

Our staff went over shortly after the market reopened last month and both of our hot Mediterranean entrees were so salty we couldn’t finish them. We really wanted to support this business so we decided to avoid the hot food, and picked up sandwiches the next time. The ham in mine was fatty and tough, and the bread was dried out on everyone’s sandwiches. It was such a big disappointment as the only other«grab and go» store in the neighborhood is a gas station. My staff now makes a point of saying, «don’t get mine from that weird deli» every time I ask if I can get lunch for them. Such a shame!

OUTSTANDING! FINALLY! I’m so excited that they opened. They’re a grocery store AND Mediterranean deli. They make fresh muffins and such in the morning. And they serve Peace Coffee. The grocery is nice. They have a lot of things that I can see myself making a trip for. Good whole bean coffee, dried fruit, some good sauces. And lots of snacks. In the deli they have kibbi, tabouli, hummus, grape leaves, all kinds of salads, falafel, and kafta meatballs… Plus sammies, fresh bread, pita, the produce looks good… Honestly this place is great! The kibbi is really good as is pretty much everything else. The best part is the baklava. I’m not even kidding. THISISTHEBESTBAKLAVA I HAVEHADINMINNEAPOLIS. Period!

My friend and I were out for a walk over lunch and ran into this place. I thought the space was vacant since the Mill City Market had closed, but was delighted to find this place in the old space. Nice lunch options: –Olive Bar –Gyros –Made to order sandwiches –Little deli area with salads –Some produce Regular sundries and convenience items. Staff preparing the food and checking out were so friendly and helpful. They are brand new– just opened yesterday! Welcome to the neighborhood and a welcome to some more lunch options!
