History
Established in 1996.
In 1996, GrantStation launched our first searchable database of grantmakers (Big Data), which was developed specifically for Alaskan grantseekers and offered by the Alaska Funding Exchange. Work was done out of a 16×20-foot cabin in the woods about 12 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska, with no running water. Our electricity was provided by a plug-in on a power pole about 300 feet up the hillside from our cabin.
Today, GrantStation’s enewsletters, the GrantStation Insider and International Insider have a circulation over 430,000. Membership is enjoyed by tens of thousands, and business partners number in the hundreds. The Company has moved to the ‘cloud’; all employees work remotely.

Business Owner
Cynthia Adams has been a fundraiser for over 38 years. Working directly for nonprofits and as a fundraising consultant, Ms. Adams specializes in building bridges between funders and grantseekers. She strongly believes that successful grantseeking requires a thorough understanding of the funders and sound knowledge of the playing field. Her life’s work has been to level that playing field, creating an opportunity for all nonprofit organizations to access the wealth of grant opportunities across the U.S. and throughout the world. GrantStation was conceived from this basic philosophy.
