Hot Diggity Dog

A nice little place, offering Vienna Beef hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches on a shoestring budget.
Sadly, they’re closed now — probably a combination of lack of capital and the effects of the light-​rail construction outside their front door.

Ok, I’m going to say it right out. The guys who own this place? Pretty freakin’ awesome. The hot dogs are even better.
The chili cheese dog is awesome; real chili and real cheese? My inner Wisconsinite is thrilled.

Hot Diggity Damn, these dogs are good. This place is still in preliminary stages, hence no phone and no fountain beverages yet. The hot dogs are on par with Uncle Franky’s, except they have a better location.
Their Chicago is delicious with red and green peppers, electric green relish, and a rockin’ bun to boot. The Atlantic is similar to the Chicago, but without the peppers, tomatoes, etc. Instead it’s got some great sauerkraut.
At $ 3.19, their hot dogs are the cheapest around. I do believe I might have to split my lunch hours between Bun Mi and Hot Diggity Dog. They only have like two tables though, so count on carryout.

Isn’t it interesting how hot dogs can simultaneously be one of the most over-​priced options for lunch and also one of the most economical?
Now, I’m by no means a weiner connoisseur; I generally only feast on franks on a rare occasion. But I think I can spot a good weiner when I see one. These dogs are good. Good enough, in fact, that I made a second trip to this eatery in one week.
Honestly, I have to recommend the Chicago dog. It comes complete with fresh sliced tomatos, hot peppers and relish. Absolutely delicious.
Diggity occupies the hole in the wall which was called Village Pizza only a few months earlier. They’ve made some improvements – the mirrors are gone – but there is really a lot less seating. Two tables to be exact. So you’re probably goin to be taking your weiner to-​go.
Current prices are $ 3.19 for most of their dogs and $ 2 more for chips and a soda. They are definitely some damn delicious dogs. Check it out.

Two brave kids opened an eatery on a road that is being torn up. Well, they’ve been open two days and I’ve been there once, so I only have one visit to base my review on.
The place is very small, only has 2 tables, so the concept is right, a quick meal to go.
Despite being a hot dog place, I got the Italian Beef. I was surprised at the price, it’s only 4.29, much cheaper then other italian beefs, they dipped the bun and had hot peppers, and it was a pretty good sanwich, if not messy. I didn’t see it as an option, but next time I’m going to ask if they have cheese.
Bag of chips/​Sandwich/​pop came to 7 bucks, tough deal to beat. No fryer so they dont have fries, would be nice if they did.
I’ll probably go in next week and try one of their hot dogs.
