Business Owner

Certified Professional Photographer & Portrait Artist Jim Hilgedick first got involved with photography at the tender age of 9, using a school issued TLR. He shot TRI-​X from hand loaded cassettes via a bulk roll and learned film development, printing and enlarging. The first camera he purchased was a Canon AE-​1 he found at Montgomery Wards (of all places!) in 1981. Jim documented school events, graduations, vacations and a few weddings before joining the Army in 1985.

Jim did not initially pursue a career in photography, opting instead to work in communication technologies and eventually building his own highly successful satellite and communications business. Following the 2004 adoption of his three sons and a rekindling of his passion for photography, Jim decided it was time to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional photographer.
