Specialties
Our South Minneapolis shop (a secondhand mercantile /art-vintage-furniture-treasurehunting shop) is now open seven days a week, from 10A-8P daily.
We are on a mission to save beautiful castoffs and make them available to be enjoyed anew. Our product mix (curated by over a dozen vendors) is a broad assortment of treasures that changes from sale to sale. Expect to find anything from a 1920s sofa to a 1970s disco dress… supplies for creating, making and doing… furniture and home décor… religious and vintage western kitsch… things you’ve not seen before, and items that remind you of the one thing that your (grandmother, mom, favorite aunt) had waaaay back when… Look, too, for upcycled art made by Longfellow neighborhood artists.
We try to keep it both fun and interesting… come in, and let us know how we’re doing!
History
Established in 2010.
Julie was a brand new mama when her marriage ended unexpectedly in early 2009. The weight loss that followed (no appetite + nursing a baby) led to a necessary wardrobe update despite a very tight budget. Julie took her old clothes to consignment, thrifted a bunch of tiny new ones, and life moved on. As she healed (and needed more clothes, slightly larger), she repeated this process with the thrift store clothes, and realized that the margin in this process might ease the financial stricture that had come with the circumstances she was facing.
From consignment to eBay to in-home sales, Julie nurtured the business until it had outgrown her house — and in November of 2012, she launched Junket: Tossed & Found as a brick & mortar storefront in S. Minneapolis.
While it started as an occasional shop, Junket is now seven days a week, from 10AM — 8PM daily.
