Keefer Court Food has been making fortune cookies since 1983. Our factory at this location opened in 1995, and supplies all of the upper Midwest. We are capable of producing 14,000 fortune cookies an hour, or if you just need one for homecoming — that’s fine too!

Established in 1983.

Long ago we decided to make the best fortune cookies using superior ingredients. Premium flour. Pure granulated sugar. Fresh eggs. Fine flavoring. And memorable messages. We built a bakery just for fortune cookies, and purchased high-​tech fortune cookie machines to make beautiful looking cookies at amazing speed. We continue to invest to keep our products superior and haven’t changed our recipe since we started. Early on we decided to focus on making custom message fortune cookies for trade shows, direct mail, sales promotions, and birthday parties. Our customers went on to use them for weddings, school events, graduation messages and even proposals! We designed the business to provide caring customer service, quick turn-​around time, accuracy on orders, and supply a variety of packaging ideas. Because we make the fortune cookies onsite, we can provide the best quality fortune cookie and the commit to the fastest turn-​around on your orders without charging a rush fee.

Chairman Kwan’s initial venture into the culinary world was in 1982 with the introduction of Keefer Court Bakery located on Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis, located near the West Bank of the University of Minnesota. This was the first Chinese bakery in Minnesota. Keefer Court Bakery specialized in making Oriental pastries and baking its own fortune cookies under the Golden Plaque #1 label. As the Midwest demand increased, Chairman Kwan knew he had to invest in larger, fully-​automated machines to keep up with the competition and to be able to fulfill large wholesale orders. Chairman Kwan’s purchase allowed Keefer Court Food to produce 14,000 fortune cookies in an hour, which stomped out regional competition in the early 90s. In 1999 he launched an e-​commerce custom message cookie site, which is now known as KCFor​tuneCook​ieFac​tory​.com. Keefer is the upper Midwest’s largest fortune cookie supplier, and ships customized orders all over the world!
