Specialties

We specialize in Vietnamese noodle soups, mainly Phở. We also offer vermicelli salads and jasmine rice dishes with grilled chicken, pork or shrimp. We have just added a vegetable broth soup that we are extremely proud of (made from scratch) so the vegetarians out there can share in and enjoy Vietnamese Noodle Soups, which is the unofficial Vietnamese national food. As far as I know, I don’t think any other Vietnamese Restaurants in the Twin Cities offer this. We have also just added a noodle stir fry dish which we love and is a nice alternative to noodle soup during our 5 months of nice weather in the Twin CIties. Come sit on our patio, people watch and enjoy some great authentic Vietnamese food.

I named this restaurant after my wife. Phở is her favorite food and also what we specialize in.

When I set out to open this restaurant, my goals were:

1. Make a living

2. Feed People at Affordable Prices (most entrees are around $ 6.75)

3. Introduce Phở and Noodle Soups to those that have never tried it. I believe it’s a great comfort food and is perfect for the colder months in Minnesota.

I’ve eaten Phở at several places around the U of M campus but KimBinh’s phở is by far the best. They know their phở. I also like their Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodle soup) and egg rolls. I’ll have to come back and try the rest of their menu. Patio seating is a plus on those beautiful summer evenings. Located in Dinkytown, validated parking makes it a breeze. Good food, good prices — thumbs up from me!

I haven’t really had any of their other food, but if you’re a vegetarian, then come winter, you HAVE to come here for their vegetarian Phở. That’s right, vegetarian phở. This broth is from nothing but vegetables (though you’d be skeptical at first, I confirmed it with the owner, 100% vegan my friends). It’s earthy, it’s sweet, it’s hearty. It’s everything meat broth should be, but animal friendly!

KimBinh just opened a month ago and the timing couldn’t be better. I was looking for a good place to get a decent bowl of phở (Vietnamese Noodle soup) around the Dinkytown area and was not expecting much. But this place blew me away. Not only is the Phở decent, it’s freakin’ tasty and just as good my other favorite Phở shop in Minneapolis (Pho79). The place is clean, service was prompt. What else can I say? If you’re located in the U of M campus area and need a good bowl of Vietnamese Noodle soup, you can’t go wrong with KimBinh. BTW — Try thier egg noodle soup with wontons, my other favorite dish of theirs.
