The mock duck and potatoes is PHENOMENAL! The veggie egg rolls are also incredible. LOVELOVELOVE.

This is a great place to eat, but they are closed now on Mondays because sales have been low. And all the new competition in the area. This place has been here since 1987. The food has always been great and the prices are very reasonable. Also, the staff is wonderful. I hope it does not go away.

Delicious and offers dishes I can’t find as well executed in other Asian restaurants. Their lemon grass(hot and spicy) beef is really flavorful and one of our favorites. They have a spicy chicken wings on the appetizer menu that reminds me of spicy Korean chicken I can only seem to find in NYC. The pad thai there is very good. All in all, one of our favorite pan-Asian restaurants in the twin cities.

My husband and I was visiting Minnesota so I took him to try this place that I have been raving about their pad thai forever! It’s been 10 years since I’ve been here and it’s still hands down the best pad thai ever! The flavors still taste the same. Even my husband couldnt disagree! The same waiter was still working there.(I believe it’s family owned.) She still remembers me and said«same old, same old» when I place my order. Love this place still and I miss it already.

This is by far my favorite Asian restaurant in the twin cities! I’ve had so many different things! Egg rolls are the best by far! The lunch combos are delicious for a great price! Try the cold strawberry green tea!

Had the phở here. Enjoyed it more than the phở at My Huong. Didn’t have anything else here though, but it seems like this restaurant has more than Vietnamese food.

I’ve eaten in once(lunch special), and ordered out three times. You won’t be dying to come back here, but you won’t be sorry you went. Some things are really good, some things you wish you hadn’t ordered, but on the whole, it’s a solid restaurant with good prices. Service is excellent and take-out is ready in a flash. Cream cheese wontons are good, egg rolls are meh. Their mock duck is not the best mock duck I’ve ever had, but they do a pretty good job with the fried tofu, try something with that.

I straight up found a cockroach in my food. I work in the service industry, so I am absolutely the last person to complain about a restaurant, so you know it was bad. We don’t eat out much, or at many places, but Kinhdo has always been our go-to for cheap comfort Chinese takeout that’s vegan. I can’t even explain how grossed out I am. My stomach has been in knots for 2 days. I even had nightmares! When I called to let them know, they didn’t even offer a refund, just credit for another meal, like I would EVER eat there again. Glad I paid for roach-infested food, and then ended up eating a PB& J.

The first time was ok. Not overly memorable, because as I was sitting there ordering on the 2nd visit… I couldn’t recall what I had.(Unusual for me.)

I’ve been going to Kinhdo for more than 25 years. Still love this place. Egg Rolls, Special Fried Rice, and Beef and Potatoes are my happy trio. This is not gourmet — it’s comfort food.

We went out for lunch and ordered the Chicken Fried Rice, eggrolls and chicken wings. Our bill was $ 32($ 26+$ 6 tip). The service was fast, prompt and friendly. The food was good but nothing that I would make an extra trip for.

The location is perfect but the food is not so great. It is a Vietnamese Restaurant but the food they have on lunch specials are more Chinese. Don’t get me wrong though their lunch is cheap. For $ 6.99 you get a choice of hot and sour or egg drop soup, a dish and an appetizer. I ordered hot and sour soup and I didn’t like the taste of it at all. It was thick almost like chicken pudding taste. Then I ordered Lemon Chicken and I didn’t know it was breaded and fried. I should have asked. The only thing I enjoyed was the spring rolls. Next time I will try something else different. They do have a small section for parking and it is located on a busy street. The staff was a little slow even though the place was not packed. The place looked clean. I don’t think I will see myself coming back soon.

I had mock duck with potatoes and onion, let me tell you, the best I have ever had! The potatoes were sliced paper thin and fried to a crunchy crisp, the mock duck was heavenly, very much like duck without the gamey taste or guilt. Perfect brown sauce that coated every bit of the potatoes, onion and mock duck. I had steamed brown rice upgrade for 2 dollars more and it was amazing, nutty and substantially more flavorful than white rice. My son had sweet and sour chicken and it looked divine, the sauce was a beautiful glossy, dark orange and there was fresh tomato and I think pineapple tucked in among the golden chicken chunks. I was so busy chowing down on my dish that I did not give much attention to his. The portions were HUGE, I had enough leftover to bring home for lunch the next day, although my son ate all of his, he has a hollow leg. Total for 2 dinners including pop, but not tip-$ 32.00. Kihn do reminds me of Saigon restaurant that used to be located on 38th street in south Mpls so many years ago. This is a great place.

Not good. I ordered the lunch chow mein, which was like no other chow mein I’ve ever had. There was a weird sauce and the noodle were crispy like they had been deep fried. I probably won’t be going back anytime soon.

Yep… I’ve had much better. My friends are going to kill me but I have to be true to my palate. Firstly, I wish to say that the staff here are very friendly and accommodating. The service was great but the food unfortunately«to my liking» was lackluster. I am not going to beat this place into the ground because I am not writing this review with any ill feelings. It was dinner time and two of my associates raved about the place so naturally I was salivating at the bit to try the food. They bragged about the Egg Rolls and also a Potato Chip and Beef dish, so that’s what we ordered. Oh we also added a House Rice which comes with Shrimp, Chicken etc. Egg Rolls arrived and they were huge in size but not in flavour. I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I was. My associates looked at me as if I had committed a mortal sin, but the Egg Rolls were simply average in taste to me. The dipping sauce was not as viscous as I am use to but it was ok. Then came the Beef and Potato Chip dish. It was also just ok. A bit more flavour than the Egg Rolls, but truly nothing to scream about and definitely not something I am anxious to try again, either of these two dishes. The House Rice that we added was a bit dry and also a bit disappointing to the palate. So in conclusion,. .Would I give this place another try? The food wasn’t awful, but by no means enjoyable either. Especially considering I was in great company with my two business associates, whom I love. If they are prepared to pay for the next visit, that would be the only reason I would go, but I would much rather try somewhere else than re-visit this place again. Sorry

Kindho is a great place for a quick lunch in uptown minneapolis at a great affordable price. Lunch starts with an option of egg drop soup that is flavorful and filled with egg, scallions and chicken cuts. I always do the sweet and sour chicken which comes out piping hot in a nice portion size. The restaurant has ample seating and good customer service. Maybe one day I I’ll go for dinner.

So I guess I fell for the hype? It was a chilly September afternoon during my «Are You Phở Real?» month(that time I had phở 7 times in one month) and I was craving it bad. Didn’t want to deal with delivery fees so I decided to go somewhere close. Placed an order for the meatball phở over the phone. Got there 15 minutes later and my order was ready. Points! Service was great! Super friendly. Got back home and the phở was alright. Nothing phở-nomenal. For something with so many ingredients, not enough flavor. Maybe I’ll have to try another dish but for the«best Vietnamese food in Minneapolis» as I’ve heard multiple people exclaim it underperformed. Till next time…

I like Kinhdo but don’t love it quite as much as some of the other authentic places in the area. I don’t know why. The food is solid, great variety, and the service is snappy and friendly. It has a great location, and free parking which is nice for uptown. Maybe because the menu tilts more Chinese and Thai than Vietnamese vs other Vietnamese restaurants, but I suppose that is just my opinion. But as we are fortunate to have numerous Vietnamese options in the area, try them all and pick your favorite. For Minneapolis, you can’t really go wrong!

Kinh Do is the best Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to. I’ve been to many, FYI. I’ve been dining here for a looong time. The food, service and menu have been consistently amazing for years. The menu is traditional and true to culture, nothing unexpected and gross like cheeseburgers/Chinese/Italian. Just good-sorry, great-Vietnamese food. The décor and atmosphere are a bit outdated, but not tacky. The lighting isn’t offensively artificial or anything and the location is pleasant. Take out is also amazingly fresh and consistent. The prices are pretty fair, average. The taste/quality is above average and the portions are fairly large. I can tell fresh ingredients are used because the food is never«fishy», stale or oily. The chicken is white breast meat, not dark scrap crap. Love it!
