The Minnesota Honey Company is the «Everything Honey Store». We are a Speciality Grocery Store that sells local raw Minnesota Honey and locally produced honey products. The honey store shelves are stocked with a variety of local raw honeys, creamed honeys, honey mustards, honey barbecue sauces, honey pepper jams, honey sweets and many other local food products made with local raw honey. We also stock body care products made with honey and beeswax.

The gift shop sells fresh flowers, Honey Bee themed jewelry, gifts and cards.

The Minnesota Honey Company retail store is a one stop shop for one of a kind local gifts for any occasion.

Wedding gift favors and corporate gift baskets are available along with gift wrapping and shipping services.

History

Established in 2013.

Kelley Flanders had been working in the family honey & bee business for a number of years with his wife Deborah Flanders. Selling honey at Farmer’s markets is nice in summer but the harsh Minnesota winters shut down outside markets seven months of the year. The husband and wife team decided to branch off from the family business and open a Honey Speciality food and gift shop. They gave up their farm and their bees to open the first and only honey speciality shop in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Honey Company is the «Everything Honey Store. The speciality honey store sells raw local honey from local beekeepers and farms. Small local companies supply the store with honey barbecue sauces, honey mustards, creamed honeys and honey sweets and other local food products.

The gift shop sells fresh flowers, Honey Bee themed jewelry, gifts & cards including personal body care products made with honey and beeswax.

Wedding & corporate gift favors are available along with gift wrapping & shipping.

Business Owner

Kelley started his first business at the age of eleven and has owned and operated a number of businesses over the years. He got into the bee business when his wife’s family needed some help on their honey farm /​apiary. He helped with bee wrangling, bottling, delivery and marketing. He like the idea that a person could get stung everyday in the bee business and still make a living.

Lured in by the ice cream sign outside, I didn’t expect such a large shop full of so many different types of products. Super friendly, knowledgable staff. I tried a soda, a bag of taffy (made with honey instead of sugar) and honey sticks (which comes in dozens of flavours I’ve never seen in honey before!), and a honey vanilla ice cream (with complimentary flavour infused honey topping — I got cappuccino) all for just over $ 11 after tax. They had just about everything anyone could want related to honey from condiments to candy to tea and soda, honey jars, serving tools and, of course, several upon several types of honey. Nearly everything is locally sourced so you’re not just shopping local but eating local too.

Kelley and Deborah are the definition of Minnesota Nice.
I was in search of beeswax and stumbled upon the Minnesota Honey Company. I called to see if they sold any filtered beeswax and Deborah was kind enough to inform me they only had unfiltered beeswax and were low on supply. They offered to filter what they had left for me and would have it ready in 3 days.
Kelley was very pleasant and informative to chat with. He explained to me he quoted me wrong on the phone and gave me an extra 1oz if beeswax. My girlfriend and I also had a conversation about the local community and he was genuinely interested in talking with us.
Customer experience was superb. Minnesota Honey Company is worth the trip for any of your honey needs.

Honey heaven!
If you love honey… or if you think you might be interested in honey and apiary… this store is a MUST see. I was super impressed with the variety of honey flavors and honey products, despite the fact that it’s the end of winter and we are most definitely OUT-​OF-​SEASON for honey! If this is what they look like out-​of-​season, what do they look like in the summer and the fall? I must find out!
The staff and owners are super nice, incredibly knowledgeable, and very patient. They also offer tasting. I highly recommend this so you can compare honey from different plants, flavor infusions, aging, whipping, etcetera.
We bought 50 dollars worth of stuff.

I have shopped here a few times now and I like what this place has to offer. Smaller location but they have a good selection of inventory. Many choices of mostly all local honey producers. The service has always been very friendly and helpful to my questions and thoughts. I will be back again and again. No better place to get honey in the metro than here. Avoid the chain stores when it comes to this kind of product!

They have honeycomb; therefore, they are the best. Honestly, they have everything honey-​related that you could possibly want. The day I went in the were doing a demonstration on how to get honey out of the comb, which was fascinating and surprisingly simple. The staff were friendly and helpful, and good for small talk. I’ll be back when my current stock of honeycomb runs out.

A fan of all things honey? Look no further! This store is a goldmine for lovers of sticky sweetness.
We have visited the MN Honey Company a few times since it has opened and are big fans. They were extremely helpful in assisting us with gift baskets for family members, which were a big hit. The selection of honey flavors and honey-​flavored items is unbelieveable. So many honey types (different flowers, different regions of the state, etc) and lots of foods with honey incorporated into them (candies, sauces, etc.)
Located on the NW corner of the 50th and Xerxes intersection, the storefront is very small but the store itself is surprisingly large. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions about honey you can think of. With the craze surrounding wine sommeliers and olive oil flavors (nearby Vinaigrette), I can only hope honey specialization takes off in the TC to keep this little store alive!
