Qdoba

So excited to have Qdoba for lunch today. I ordered ahead online as the line tends to get very long during lunch rush. I ordered the 3 taco combo. Variety is the spice of life, they say! I chose grilled chicken, pulled pork, and grilled steak. All with lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and roasted chile corn salsa (mild).
The first taco I bit into was the grilled steak. It was pretty good. The second taco I tried was the pulled pork. The pork was very bland, and the taco itself, was overfilled with lettuce, cheese, and corn. The pulled pork tasted like water, absolutely no flavor. Was not a very pleasant taco if you ask me.
The third one was supposed to be grilled chicken, but what I ended up getting was another grilled steak. This one, however, was also overfilled with lettuce, cheese, and corn. Not as tasty as the first one I ate. I can’t believe they got grilled chicken mixed up with grilled steak. How does one mix that up? Attention to detail, people!
How hard is it to get an order right?! Very hard, I guess. And next time, please don’t overstuff my tacos with fixings. Oh wait, there won’t be a next time, because I ain’t ever coming back!

I’ve gone here a handful of times for a quick bite because they’re closer than chipotle. It’s definitely a second placement because of the seasoning-​lack thereof or excessive. It is nice there are more options but I’m not sure it beats the options at chipotle. One thing I do love is their online ordering system. Standing in line annoys me and they tend to pile more on when you order for pick-​up.
For what I paid at Qudoba I could have had two meals instead of one at chipotle. I’ll go back if I really need a quick bite and taco fix. Otherwise you’ll see me walking to chipotle.

The people are really nice, gotta give them that. Unfortunately the food is Meh. I tried the «smothered burrito» and what I got was a tortilla in a bowl with some stuff and a ton of sauce on top. It didn’t look very good, when the guy folded it the sauce spilled out. And there’s a lot of liquid in the bottom which kinda made it soggy. I had a few bites and went to Chipotle. I would have said something but the employees were busy. I had water and It was still almost $ 10 to boot. Yikes.

Pros:
— this location is brand spanking new to downtown
— clean and really working the efficiency aspect for the lunch crowd
— queso sauce
— they service breakfast
— a variety of options: burritos, bowls, gumbo, nachos, tacos, quesadillas, etc.
Cons:
— a less tasty version of Chipotle
— the seasoning kills my stomach and taste buds, I had one of the meats and it was so salty that I wanted to threw up afterwards
— undercooked fajitas, specifically raw onions
I grabbed a beef quesadilla a few weeks ago. The line moved quicker than I expect for the lunch rush which was nice, the quesadilla on the other hand was not so nice. There was a lack of cheese and the fajitas were practically raw. It was painful to eat the onions so I ended up picking the quesadilla apart, it was very unpleasant experience.
