Stun & Run Self Defense is a personal protection and crime prevention store specializing in non-​lethal self-​defense products for those in need of protection. We offer a range of products including pepper spray, stun guns, TASER devices and personal alarms. In addition to self-​defense products we also provide surveillance equipment, spy gear, home security products and survival gear such as body armor and shooting supplies.

For those living in the Twin Cities we teach self-​defense classes in pepper spray usage and stun gun/​TASER tactics in order to train people how to properly defend themselves in case of an attack. Our main emphasis is on educating others in order to prevent crime and save lives.

History

Established in 2012.

Stun & Run Self Defense LLC was founded by Ulrich Faircloth for the purpose of giving Minnesotans a way to fight back against crime in their communities. As a former crime prevention intern and community service officer with the Minneapolis Police Department, Ulrich understood the societal impacts crime had on communities in the Twin Cities.

After being with the police for several months Ulrich figured that he could help others much more effectively by trying prevent crime instead of reacting to it. He partnered up with his friend Shon Brown, a former Army reservist and security officer, to make Stun & Run Self Defense the top crime prevention and personal protection company in the country.

Stun & Run Self Defense was formed on the premise of «stunning» your attacker and «running» to get away, which is the basis for self-​defense. The purpose is to provide people with the tools and knowledge to protect themselves and their loved ones. Preventing crime and saving lives is the goal.

Business Owner

Ulrich worked with the Minneapolis Police Department as a crime prevention intern during his Junior year of college. Less than a year after graduating he became a community service officer (CSO) with the department. 7 months in and things did not pan out for a number of reasons. The police world simply was not the right environment for him. Ulrich wanted to follow in the footsteps of the two crime prevention specialists that mentored him.

Hence, his desire was to be more involved in the community as opposed to being part of a reactionary force, of punishing people. He wanted to help prevent crime rather than react to it.

Ulrich’s passion in life is to protect the lives of others. He does this through entrepreneurship and by surrounding himself with positive, like-​minded people. His dream is for Stun & Run Self Defense to become Minnesota’s first and only self-​defense products retail outlet as well as everyone’s top source for all things crime prevention.
