The company I work for used to use TechGuru. They were OK, but in several ways did not live up to their promises. Their ability to resolve some tech problems was good, but a significant portion of the time we were very disappointed by their inability to effectively solve the problem. It would go on their backburner and require multiple follow ups before they basically gave up or provided a mediocre solution. Response times were often very slow. At least a third of the time, we would not get a response or resolution until 2 – 3 days after submitting a support request. Some requests would take weeks, and some they said they never received. I believe we were overcharged and overpromised. This is not to say they were terrible, but just not outstanding. We switched to a different company that has been far better: knowledge & expertise of staff, ability to resolve a wide range of problems, and appropriate response times. All at about the same cost as TechGuru was.

I had a problem with a hard drive for an out-​of-​warranty Lenovo. Tech Guru replaced it and then dealt with some idiosyncratic BIOS issues to get it fixed. While it took some time to get to a final resolution, the staff was persistent, honest, and professional. In summary, the experience was good and communication was excellent. I can’t directly compare the service to sending back directly to Lenovo (they might have automatically known about the BIOS problem), but when you use someone local, you get a name and face to deal with directly. My impression is that this business really wants to provide personal customer service. I would use them again.
