Yay, cookies for a cause! If you’re looking at this page, you’ve probably seen the multitude of reviews explaining how this is an awesome nonprofit that provides work experience and other services to neighborhood youth between 15 and 18. That makes these delicious cookies even more delicious! They’re soft, chewy, and fresh. My favorite is the snickerdoodle, and I also love the peanut butter and the old standard, chocolate chip. Be aware they’re only open on weekdays, and only until 6. I recommend having lunch at Sammy’s Avenue Eatery on the corner or Breaking Bread across the street, then stopping at Cookie Cart and having a cookie for dessert. OR, grab a dozen and take them back to your work! They’ll love you in the break room.
You can also pre-​order dozens of cookies online if you’re providing desserts for a larger event. They have gift packs and specially designed cookies, too, so check it out! These cookies are healthy for your soul.

The business model itself provides all the sweet I need! Youth in the community have the opportunity to work a job while learning employment skills. The building space itself is bright, welcoming, and there is a window to the baking kitchen, allowing you to see the magic behind the cookies.
I’ve tried all the cookies in the basic line up — Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, Sugar. All three of these stand up with the best of em. They are a good full size and have the cookie texture I prefer, soft around the middle when you break it in half but a substantial crispy crunch around the edges.
They also have a great upstairs space that I have been in for various meetings.

I was having lunch at The Hook next door and decided to stop in. I am rarely ever on this street in Minneapolis. They have remodeled since I was here last and it looks good. Cookie Cart is a business that assists youth with working and business skills. The cost of cookies was 12 for $ 10. I got a variety such as: pumpkin, chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and English toffee. They put them in a cute box for you. The cashier was very friendly. My client used the restroom and said it was real clean. They have a cute lounge area to eat your cookies in. Another location would be a benefit.

When I travel to a different location, my goal is to try different foods to get a taste of the town’s culture and soul. You learn a lot about the place: the history, diversity, and hospitality just by simply trying their food. I heard of this place from one of my aunts. She told me that Cookie Cart was created to help kids stay occupied by working in a team and keeping them out of trouble. What a brilliant idea. This establishment does exactly that! The kids run the show here. Upon walking in, the teenagers greet you with a smile and charismatic personality. They get the fresh cookies for you and then carry out the entire transaction. They also look like they’re having a good time. They say if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life. I’m not saying this is their career but I’m just emphasizing the joy these kids find in operating the Cookie Cart.
My brothers and I came here two times within a week to get their delicious cookies. That should mean something! They were so good, I had to order me a batch to fly back home to Chicago. My ultimate favorite one is the coconut toffee one! A definite absolutely must try! The oatmeal raisins and chocolate chips are also amazing.

I want to love them because they have such a great concept and the cookies are delicious — but doing business with them is extremely frustrating. I have placed multiple orders for cookie deliveries and something seems to go wrong each time. Either the orders don’t show up on time, or at all, or they bill me incorrectly… it goes on and on. I know they are kids learning business skills and I try to be patient, but after too many goofed up orders and rounds of phone calls, I sadly won’t be ordering from them again.

A lot has already been said about this place that I 100% agree with:
— cookies are all delicious, ESPECIALLY their snickerdoodles
— great nonprofit
— so much adorable, tons of hospitality, such great kids
— it’s totally worth going here and getting the cookies warm (if you’re lucky)
I work nearby and let me just say this — resisting the urge to stop by Cookie Cart and «just get one snickerdoodle» is almost a daily inner battle between the forces of good and cookies.

This place can make any «tough cookie» soften up. Seriously, the cuteness here parallels puppy and kitten shows on Animal Planet.
Started by Sister Jean Thuerauf, The Cookie Cart began in her kitchen 23 years ago in order to provide a safe and productive place for kids to be after-​school. Once she couldn’t accommodate all of the kids that came, she opened up a location on Broadway. 23 years later, The Cookie Cart has become an institution on the North-​side. It has employed thousands of kids, and taught many of them life skills through baking and selling cookies.
The first time I went there, I definitely had cuteness overload. It’s not everyday that I witness a tall 16 year-​old boy lift a 12 year-​old girl –because she was too short– to reach the cash register. While suspended in the air, the tall boy instructed her what to push to properly provide change for the customer. Each customer is respectfully greeted with «hello mam» or «hello sir» and leaves with «thank you mam» or «thank you sir».
So yeah, The Cookie Cart’s mission and staff can easily melt your heart. However, even if I was a heartless and grumpy old man that hated the world, I would probably still buy cookies here BECAUSE THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
Snickerdoodles = Out of this world. Heath Coconut = Genius. Chocolate Chip = Can compete with the best.
If you don’t like The Cookie Cart, I’m pretty sure your idol is the Grinch, or you are the person that doesn’t give up your seat for and elderly or pregnant women on the bus.
Support a great cause, eat delicious cookies.

I volunteered here making cookies with the kids. What impressed me most was the group gives kids skills beyond basic here’s your first job. The kids get feedback and reviews like a professional suit and tie place. Learning to take criticism about your work habits/​ethic or be praised is so important to learn early.
The cookies are great too. They have a really great diversity of cookies: ginger, pumpkin iced (this was in the early summer and was a treat instead of the flavor overload of Oct) coconut toffee, and your gold standards choco chip, snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin.
Check to see if your company volunteers here — the kids are great, the staff is really dedicated and you get to eat YUMMY cookies.

Yeah, that’s right. I went there. And I’m very particular about my snickerdoodles. Can’t be too hard, too floury, too tastes-​like-​corn-​syrup (why do people add c.s. to cookies? It tases like crap). I’ve only ever liked my own snickerdoodles.
The Cookie Cart has changed my world view.
And talk about local — THIS is local. Not only are you buying from a local non-​profit (yep, feel good about eating cookies) but the product is SO much better than any other non-​local product that you don’t have to forego quality like at some local places I won’t mention.
Go out of your way to get their cookies. Move to the neighborhood, start working a few blocks away like I did, do what it takes.
Oh wait, they deliver. But still — go there. Northside isn’t scary, it just has personality. In fact, Cookie Cart is about 2 blocks away from Hook Fish and Chicken AND Olympic Café.. . dinner and dessert?
Cookie Cart, you make me happy. So, so happy. I have faith in the world again.

Get ye some Cookie Cart Cookies. This great non profit gives North Mpls youth a place to learn lots of cool stuff and it does it well.
If you want to feel all tough, head up Broadway and visit the store. There’s plenty of parking in the back and seating inside. Order whatever is still warm. (If you’re lucky, its the double chocolate chop or snicker doodle.) Feel all warm and fuzzy. Not sure if you can stomach the North Side? Or maybe you’re just too busy to make it there between 9 – 6 on weekdays? Cookie Cart delivers. You’re still cool.

When the cookie place that I was getting cookies from went out of business I looked around for an alternative near 94. I was thrilled to find the Cookie Cart.
I was drawn to the Cookie Cart as it is a non-​profit working with kids offering them employment, teaching life skills.
The cookies are fabulous! The recipients of the cookies were raving about the cookies and are excited each time I bring them some.

A good alternative to that popcorn tin…
Our office was the happy recipient of a huge box of cookies from the Cookie Cart yesterday. They were delivered in the AM and I swear they had just been baked.
I opened the box to find 2 dozen treats of deliciousness awaiting our consumption. I am not one to usually participate in office goodies, but after walking around and offering one to most everyone at work and finding the box back on my desk, I couldn’t resist.
I wasn’t hungry, but I’m glad I had one. It was a peanut butter, baked exactly like I love — soft, chewy, with a perfect balance of salt and sweet. Everyone who had a cookie really enjoyed it.
I would order from them to support a good cause and to make someones day.
A great alternative to a poinsettia or a popcorn tin for the Holiday Season!

I grew up over north and have know these cookies my whole life.
I remember when going down Emerson and the kids on the street selling cookies!
The cookies are fabulous. The store in itself is a life saver. It’s a non profit that benefits kids directly. Teaching kids about leadership, life and employment.

I ordered two dozen assorted cookies from the Cookie Cart for same-​day delivery in Minneapolis. The order taker was really nice and helpful.
As it turns out, it was same-​hour delivery because they arrived at their destination within 40 minutes. Impressive!
