We went there with a groupon deal, the food was great and they have us the option to upgrade different areas. I love the lighting and the service was great, we will defiantly be going back and maybe even reserving the back room for an engagement party

Firstly, Enrique is probably the best server I’ve had anywhere in the TC. Funny, just the right amount of attention, really wonderful recommendations, just wonderful at making us feel welcome. The cherry on top: My friend and I were getting an uneven number of chickpea fries split to put into separate leftovers boxes, and he cut one of the fries in half so neither one would get more than the other. That’s some serious service, you guys.
This was my first visit for dinner — walked in on a whim for catch up times with the same friend I brunched with the first time I ate here. We had:
1) We split Mushroom and Potato Torte: Flakey crust, earthy mushrooms, just a touch of goat cheese. Good stuff.
2) Potato Leek soup: Simple but so warm and satisfying on this day of returning snow.
3) I had the Bryant Burger again. Awesomeness.
4) My friend had a chicken dish — didn’t catch the name but she really loved it.
5) We split the Coffee/​Cardamom pot de crème — awesome interesting flavor profile, with delicious chocolate cremeaux and brandied cherries on the side. I might have snuck some of that chocolate amazingness into my espresso.
I guess I need to stop reviewing this place, but maybe that will happen when it stops being awesome.

I’ve visited ‘The Lynn’ a couple times and always come away with the same feeling. It is a good restaurant that seems like it should be more.
It is conveniently close to my house and I have never had a bad experience here. That being said, I always feel a little disappointed when I’m done. This is likely due to unrealistic expectations or a longing for a truly great restaurant, but nevertheless the feeling always lingers.
Nothing on the menu stands out, good or bad, and the service has always been a favorable experience. Personally, I find the restaurant lacking but would definitely suggest trying it out at least once before making a decision.

I really wish you could give half stars on Unilocal.3 stars for the Lynn feels sort of harsh. But I think 4 stars is too generous. Oh, first world problems…
I’ve been to The Lynn on Bryant two different times, both for brunch. The space is absolutely darling. Lots of light. Adorable table settings. Modern and warm all at once. Totally Instagram-​worthy. It’s also never particularly loud or chaotic at brunch, which I appreciate. I don’t like places in town where I have to elbow some mom in the face to get a table. Sort of sucks all the joy out of brunch, doesn’t it?
That being said, the ambiance and vibe of the space is really my favorite part. The food is alright. It’s simple, that’s for sure. But nothing craveable. Nothing that stands out. Solid eggs. FIne bacon. Actually, really good latte drinks (they don’t carry skim milk, so my full-​fat latte tasted absolutely sinful!) But that’s where it stops. It’s just what you expect it to be. Perfectly adequate, but I wish the menu was a smidge more inventive.
In conclusion, this is a great brunch spot for intimate one-​on-​one brunches with best girl friends you haven’t seen for weeks. But for cutting-​edge culinary backflips? I’d maybe go to Parka or Tilia instead.

Best LivingSocial deal I’ve ever used, I wish I had bought five!
It’s a small place, with pretty short dinner hours (I think it closes at 9pm), but it is definitely worth the effort to get in. There is an open kitchen in the middle that separates the space into two rooms. We were seated in the back room which seemed perfectly secluded for a date, but I bet that front room is better for breakfast with the sun shining in. The tables in the back area are very close together which at times made me wonder if the tables next to us could hear all our conversation. Aside from that one little detail the dinner was fantastic.
The menu was generously varied for a Prix fixe dinner, I was very impressed (and maybe a little torn with all those options). I started with a salad which was simple but refreshing with its herb vinaigrette, while my boyfriend opted for the butternut squash soup which was flavorful and creamy. We shared our next course of breaded cod bites. These were a complete surprise, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone as an app not to miss. Crispy coated outside, smooth cod inside that’s not at all fishy served with a creamy and rich dipping sauce. Yum. My entrée was small scallops with cauliflower purée and almonds over rice which came out red because they soak it in wine overnight. I really liked the cauliflower purée with the scallops, it was delicious. I also got to snag a piece of cheesy gnocchi from the other side of the table which was super soft, melt in your mouth kind of cheese. And as if that wasn’t an exhausting amount of food already we tried their maple crème brûlée which was a lovely way to finish the meal with a few sugary cider doughnut bites.
I am so happy we got the chance to dine here, it really stood out to me as one of the best date nights we’ve had in Minneapolis.

Simply a solid neighborhood dining experience!
Dinner was affordable, fun and chic! Enjoyed the Bryant Burger, a vegetarian bulgur wheat burger made with a seasonal vegetable purée, topped with goat cheese, beet slaw and my choice of chickpea fries. To my surprise, the dish came deconstructed on the plate. The salsa-​verde dipping paired decently with the chickpea fries. This twist on a classic veggie burger left my stomach and pallet satisfied with plenty of room (and calories saved) to enjoy a yummy Chai tea + the warm chocolate cake topped with hazelnut ice milk — perfectly shared with my dinner guest.
The menu is full of delicious looking chicken and pasta dishes. The ambience is comfortable, cozy with a rustic-​modern twist — a nice addition to the neighborhood area. It’s a great spot for more intimate conversations and small groups of 6 or less. I especially liked the offering of carafe for wine to share at a table! Servers and kitchen staff are attentive and knowledgable. And reservations were super slick using the Unilocal+Seatme platform — yay, no more open table!

I went back recently for dinner and sadly, have to downgrade my review by 1 star. Complimentary bread and whipped butter was still delicious. Salt cod was great, same as the last visit. But everything else we ordered was disappointing.
The fried chick peas had an attractive presentation but the taste was blah and dry, and the salsa verde was a weak match for it. The side of seasonal vegetables was rutabaga and celery with roasted cauliflower on top — the root vegetables did not have enough contrasting tastes or flavor. The Lynn burger was a giant ½ lb. of a burger sandwiched in an English muffin. Nothing special.
The ice cream sundae dessert also failed to impress — vanilla ice cream with candied pecans, whipped cream and a so-​so chocolate sauce.
Service was friendly and attentive but I’m pondering how ordering different menu items could result in such a different dining experience.

Exquisite. The kind of menu that is not too long but becomes more interesting the longer you look at it. Perfect waitress, who asked the right questions and offered the
appropriate explanations. I’m on the Paleo diet and both the waitress and the chef went out of their way to accommodate me. My husband had the rabbit and the mushroom fricassee. I had the beef with the seasonal vegetables. Flawless. Delicious.

My husband and I came in for brunch at the end of May. We both ate a donut, he had the omelet du jour, while I ordered the Eggs Parisienne. The donuts were quite tasty. My only remorse was that I ate mine do quickly and did not order a second for fear of not being able to eat my brunch. My husband’s omelet was yummy, and served with a hearty potato cake. The Eggs Parisienne were like magical goodness served inside a fancy jar! I ordered mine with the toast baton — which are the prefect dipping accompaniment to the magical goodness. Being a carb fiend, I was sad there was not more toast to dip, but think overall the portions were correct.
Totally spot on place for brunch! Highly recommended!

I have not had their lunch or dinner options, but I have to say I found their breakfast to be pretty disappointing. I didn’t know anything about the restaurant before eating there and I stumbled upon it while searching for a nice breakfast café with my mom and fiancé. We’ve had great luck with small restaurants in S. Minneapolis and they’re locally grown message really struck a cord with me in particular, but when it came time to eat, my hopes for a good solid meal collapsed.
The first warning sign was that both my mother and my fiancé were having a hard time finding something on the menu that they wanted to order and few things were under the $ 10 mark. Both my fiancé and I consider ourselves foodies of sorts but it seemed like a lot of the menu items were just trying too hard. Pretty much everything had gruyère or feta, which she and I love but my mother doesn’t care for, and almost everything else seemed to have fennel or anise which my fiancé cannot stand.
I ended up ordering their soft scrambled eggs, my mother went for their vegan burger with garbanzo fries, and my fiancé ordered the sausage muffin sandwich. I was a little disappointed in the portion size of my food (more of a small plate serving), my mother found her vegan burger to be ok but couldn’t eat the garbanzo fries as they and the sauce they came with were a little too adventurous for her palate, and my fiancé literally received just a breakfast sandwich, which in hindsight made sense as on the menu there wasn’t a description saying it came with anything else, but with an $ 8 price tag we assumed it would also have a side of fruit.
I ended up giving my mom my eggs and eating her vegan burger, I consider myself a very adventurous eater and I did try the garbanzo fries, but they were just not that good. My fiancé did enjoy her breakfast sandwich due to it’s size and lack of sides, the small portion of the scrambled eggs that my mom ate, and the fact I could only finish the vegan burger, we all ended up leaving a little hungry.
As far service went our waitress was pretty good, and the aesthetics of the restaurant weren’t bad, but considering that for three small entrees and three coffees we paid around $ 40.00 with tax and tip and none of us really enjoyed our food, I can’t say we really enjoyed our experience. Long story short, I may give the restaurant another shot during a different time of the year (their menu is seasonal) or another meal time, but considering what we got for what we paid I think I’ll just stick with Café Maude for high-​quality breakfast food and take my chances elsewhere for lunch and dinner.

Great option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wide selection of unique food items to choose from, including traditional brunch favorites to daring entres and food combinations. Brunch is so much fun and I always make an effort to sneak in a donut.
Take a moment to meet the chef — Peter Ireland — he’s a unique find and always takes time to talk with us when we visit.
I hope the restaurant continues to stay in the neighborhood. The menu continues to evolve and the food is worth the experience.

Great Saturday morning brunch. They don’t take reservations, so we were expecting a bit of a wait. Au contraire, we were seated upon arriving in the back of the restaurant (which was a little dark). The front of the restaurant has a lot of natural light.
I had the soft scrambled eggs which came with caramelized onions, ham, and a choice of either gruyère or goat cheese. It comes with either mixed greens or a shredded potato cake, and toast. Delicious! (They do have gluten-​free toast from French Meadow FYI)
The wait staff was friendly and able to answer a lot of our random questions (like, what are nettles and why are they in your omelette du jour?) but considering how not busy they were, my water and coffee cups spent too much time unfilled. I mean, one my favorite things about going out to brunch is the obnoxious frequency at which the waitress tends to refill my coffee.
Overall, the food is fresh and I appreciate their commitment to sourcing local foods and building relationships with local farmers. I’m anxious to return and try their dinner menu!

One of our favorite brunch places in Minneapolis! It’s in a great area of Minneapolis and the atmosphere of the place is charming and unique — 5 stars for ambiance.
We ordered the soft scrambled eggs (⁵⁄₅) and it was delicious! the eggs were soft and melted in your mouth — perfectly seasoned and topped with caramelized onions. it came with a side of a potato cake, cripsy on the outside and soft on the inside — this had the potential to be good but it was way over salted. i got the side of levain bread with cherry jam and the jam was the star of the show, made out of fresh cherries! my husband ordered the biscuit sandwich (²⁄₅) and it was an average biscuit sandwich — save your money and grab one from mcdonalds instead.
this place would have received 5 stars but had to bump it down to 4 due to the over salted potato cake and slow service (our waitress forgot our coffee and the hostess was MIA for a good few minutes when we first arrived). overall though… i would definitely recommend this place

I love the beautiful but slightly unwelcoming entry. The heavy curtain to protect guests from the MN cold was a cute twist from the standard but was an awkward little arrangement. I wasn’t too bothered but wasn’t sure what to do. Thank goodness the friendly staff came to the rescue and explained the inner workings of the entry/​seating transition. I spent our short wait ogling the pastries cleverly placed within view of both the entrance and dining space.
Once inside the curtain you realize it’s small but surprisingly expansive. Every last square inch of the tiny space is utilized efficiently and effectively. We sat in the back of the house on a cozy banquette and prepared to be wowed.
About the food: This place offers classed up remixes of classic staples and it is indeed delicious. Be prepared for in your face flavors. Everything is real, pure and strong! I had the soft scramble with caramelized onions, ham and goat cheese accompanied by a couple of slices of brioche from Patisserie 46 (yum).
I would normally really love this kind of combination platter but all of the flavors were so pointed my taste buds were on overdrive the whole time. The ham was rich and salty, the goat cheese cleared my sinuses in a way I didn’t anticipate and the caramelized onions were almost saccharine. I’m sure the dish was exactly how it should be but it was a bit much for me. I will say the eggs were prepared magnificently (Julia Child would have been proud) and the brioche was fantastical.
I might try again and get something a bit more tame so I can enjoy the simplicity of it all.

These two things together? Perfection.
The coffee is very good. The service is friendly.

My dear Lynn on Bryant,
I love the vibe of your front dining room, even with each chill that went up my spine upon each opening of the front door. Oh, not to mention, you’re such a tease flaunting your yummy looking pastries right near the entrance.
The Baked Pancake with Cranberries (no syrup needed) and Maple Bacon Steak was the perfect sweet & savory way to start my morning. The bacon wasn’t quite as seared as our server described, he otherwise did a great job explaining the menu items, and thank you for the attentive service!

Oh, I like The Lynn on Bryant a bunch of bunches.
I always feel a little weird giving up all the stars after just one brunch. Will all the fellas think I’m easy? No matter. I can’t help it with a place like this that combines friendly service, gorgeous design AND a wonderfully executed menu.
I had a cup of Kopplin’s coffee and the soft scramble with caramelized onions, ham and goat cheese. Maybe it’s partially because I haven’t had goat cheese in three months… but holy crap this was good. The sweetness from the onions, the saltiness from the ham and the creamy cheese… perfect. I give them points for making this superbly without milk and butter (at my request). They give you a choice of salad or potatoes with this. The salad was simply dressed, but delicious too. My friend ordered the frisee salad with lentils, lardons and a poached egg. It looked phenomenal and I assume it tasted that way since she joined the clean plate club with me. She also grabbed a couple of sugar-​coated donut holes from their bakery case, which is full of awesome-​looking treats.
The space is small, modern and split into front and back with the kitchen in the middle. The front is bright and café-​like. The back is a dimly lit dining room (with really cool bare-​bulb lighting), but I didn’t get a long enough peek back there to really comment much on that area. We sat right up front because it was all that was available. I imagine long waits here at most meal-​times, but they do take dinner reservations for their back room (online or by phone).
The only room for improvement would be to add a real wintertime entry vestibule to block the cold. Right now it’s a big red curtain, and it does not really do the trick if you’re sitting at the table right next to the door. We also seemed to have multiple servers for a while (there were two servers who both had tables in the front and the back), which was kinda confusing at first, but we all got through it.
I’ll definitely file this place at the top of the weekday breakfast list (a big perk of working from home = breakfast without lines!). I also can’t wait to come back for dinner, especially after reading Tasha C’s take on the evening eats and having to pick my dropped jaw off my keyboard.

INCONCEIVABLE!
Visited this place for dinner with another couple last night. They had previously enjoyed their brunch here and wanted to check out the dinner. The hubs and I knew nothing about the place (sorry, Unilocalers. I SWEAR I do pay attention to you!), so when we arrived, we were surprised at how… er…diminutive the restaurant was. Speaking of size, let’s just get the first impressions out of the way before I blow your mind with everything else (as they did us):
It’s small, which, to me, implies exclusivity — not something I’m routinely fond of due to the pretentious douchebags it usually entices. It has an open kitchen a la «insert cooking competition reality show here» which I find annoying because it routinely results in a loud atmosphere in small areas (see previous comment). Its modern industrial interior borders on stiffness — a feel that routinely makes you think you’re laughing too loud/​have broccoli in your teeth/​are too poor to be here.
Now that we’ve overcome the initial false impressions, let me hit you with the WOW.
Plain and simple, all four of us LICKED OUR PLATES. I mean, dishwasher clean. I’ll get into deets about what we ate in a bit, but it suffices to say that it just don’t damn matter. We loved it all, and based on the artistry and meticulous nature in which they treated each item, I can’t imagine there’s a dud on the menu.
Specifics: Over the course of dinner, the table had:
— Cotes du Rhone: I can’t remember which bottle, but they allowed us to taste both so that we could determine which we wanted. We opted for the softer side. It just so happened to be the cheaper one. FIrst score.
— Soup of the Day: Several of us partook in the celery root salad, which was the epitome of comfort food. Soothing and beautifully rich.
— Fricasee de Escargots: You will note in my previous reviews that I am NOT a foodie. As such, this chick had never had snail before. There has never before been ANYTHING remotely appetizing to me about a creature with no structure to speak of that has to ooze itself through life. Maybe it was the cotes du rhone… who knows, but there were ample slugs to go around, and these bastards were GOOD! It behooves you to love garlic, though, because they are heavy-​handed with it.
— Mushroom and Potato Tourte: Barely larger than a silver dollar, it was a bit difficult to split amongst the four of us, but we had been warned. Beautifully prepared and of perfect consistency, it suffered by comparison to our other dishes and was the least exciting of our selections. That said, don’t shy away.
— Fish Entrée: Upon seating, the host immediately noted that there was a change in the fish selection. Mad cool points for not allowing us to fall in love with something only to be disappointed later — solid customer service. The selection was changed to cod, and then abruptly… there was no more cod. No sooner, however, upon commencing to lick my wounds did the server return to say, «Good news… well, for one of you anyways…» One. Cod. Left. I can’t say enough about this fish — an Asian preparation of some sort of teriyaki glaze, it literally fell apart on my plate. Complete with… did you just put pureed parsnips in my face??? Get. This. Fish.
— Grassrun Farms Beef: Two different preparations, hangar steak and some sort of rib variety. Both literally melted in your mouth — lean, beautifully cooked and flavorful.
The table also ordered the Chicken Grande-​Mère, and, although the recipient, too, licked his plate/​fingers/​fork/​chair clean, I can’t speak to the actual taste or quality.
TIP: Make a reservation for the dining area. I’ve noted that several people waited for a spell for their tables. We had a reservation (albeit for a Monday night) and walked right in.
This place is hands-​down the best value I have experienced at a Twin Cities restaurant (this comment may be skewed by the fact that I just got HAD by Union no less than seven days ago). I have NO idea how they maintain such exceptional quality at such reasonable prices, and with such minimal seating, but I pray that they maintain both. I will absolutely be back and recommend absolutely everyone bookmark this place for immediate patronage!

I have to admit, the first time I looked at the Lynn on Bryant’s menu, I thought to myself, «Oh, another brunch place with the same old stuff.» I dismissed it immediately thinking it wasn’t inventive enough, zero imagination and that the food was too simple.
I was sooo wrong.
Well, I should say I was mostly wrong. It is simple food. Simple in the sense that it’s not complicated, over done or excessive. It is delicious.
We came here for brunch and started out with Kopplin’s coffee. I ordered a café au lait (I love when I don’t have to explain to servers/​baristas what this is…) and it was a great beginning to the meal.
I had the soft boiled eggs with a salad and a potato cake. Eating the eggs with a tiny spoon and toast batons (think crunchy croûton-​y toast sticks) made the meal seem so fancy. The potato cake was crispy crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dressing on the salad greens was the perfect side for breakfast. Thumbs up for the fennel that really tied everything together.
I sampled the soft scrambled eggs (opt for the goat cheese!) that my friend ordered. It sparked a conversation on how tough it is to properly make eggs. The chefs here have got it DOWN.
The décor is really cute and West End-​inspired. The atmosphere, like the food, is simple, classy and refined.
Thank you for a really delicious brunch. I can’t wait to see what else this new spot has to offer.
