I’ve actually decided to update my review on the Vue from 5 starts to 3 stars. My experience after moving out has changed. I will say while living here, I did have a good experience and never had any issues. However, once I told the apartment and the director that I was moving the attitude of the staff completely changed. The director became rude and almost vengeful for the fact that another person was moving from the apartment building and tried to find more than one way to charge me for inexplainable expenses that I am not responsible for.
The first email I received was that I was responsible for 16 days of rent even though I would no longer be living in the residence for those 16 days because I did not notify them 60 days in advance (which I did and I had an email to prove it!). After several emails trying to prove that I notified the Vue that I would be moving exactly 60 days in advance, the director let the 16 days go but was still trying to charge me for 2 days that I would not be living in the apartment, which was absolutely ridiculous because I told them 60 days in advance that I would be leaving! Eventually she most likely got tired of my emails and said they «supposedly» lost the email I sent them, even though I never had this issue with them losing emails in their system before (eye roll). Thankfully I still had a copy of the email and attached it within the email as proof.
They still haven’t removed me from the water bill and are trying to make me pay for a non existing bill that I already paid for prior to moving out. At this point, they seem very money hungry. I noticed that while living there, I kept seeing people move out and barely ever in. The building is nice, slightly overpriced but maintenance is awesome at their job which is why I’m giving this place 3 stars and not 2. The try and charge you to use the rooftop which is absolutely ridiculous since you are clearly paying rent to the building. Guessing this is a standard thing for apt buildings, but $ 200 for 4 hours to reserve only the indoor rooftop (since you cant reserve the deck outside as part of the reservation), seems a little overpriced and like management is trying to find more ways to make money from their residents.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Vue. Just moved in August 2015 but from the moment I was there to «view» the available apartment, through the leasing process, moving in, and now as a resident, I am very pleased — especially with the staff, who have been MORE than accomodating in hauling in and coordinating many deliveries to my apartment.
The amenities are excellent, maintenance is top-​notch. Location is great. I can’t think of one complaint!

Horrible place to live! The staff is unfriendly and talks to other tenants about your business. Not to mention the maintenance requests take forever! I would definitely think twice about living here.

This building was the place to live when it was owned by Greco. Now that Weidner owns the building, the luxury and convenience once offered has diminished. Concierge hours were cut to where it is no longer convenient for those who have standard 9 – 5 jobs (isn’t convenience the point of a concierge?), the upkeep/​cleanliness of public spaces and the building has been neglected, amenities and owner hosted events have been reduced, and Weidner team members are simply unfriendly and incompetent.
Move into a Greco Property if you want to live in luxury, not here.

UPSIDE: The building is in excellent shape, as you might expect from it being 1 year old. Maintenance and cleanliness is excellent. The staff takes great pride in appearance and functionality. The building really is as nice, if not nicer, than the pictures depict.
Location is solid and walk-​ability is high.
DOWNSIDE: The management company (and developer), Greco, is woefully incompetent at best, indifferent at worst.
My move in was a disaster. It was delayed because leasing admittedly forgot about me. My contract signing was delayed until the day of move in which was very awkward and unprofessional. It meant I could not read it until my moving truck was already outside VUE.
They force you to buy renters insurance, which frankly is none of their business. Another nugget I got to discover on moving day. How I choose to insure my material possessions is my preference, not theirs. It’s a logistical inconvenience that I did not enjoy dealing with. But they unnecessarily mandated it. Consider it a hidden fee (not disclosed up front) that you should tack $ 25 – 50 per month on to your rent.
There is a fantastic community room on the top floor, but they charge you $ 200 if you’d like to reserve it for a group, something that was never disclosed during the tour nor is in the lease. It surprised me the first time I wanted to reserve it, yet they took a «I don’t care, rules are rules» attitude and insisted I pay. This is pretty weak seeing as it’s a major selling point of the building to anyone who is social yet it is not disclosed up front. It’s akin to selling a car and then, after signing, telling the buyer the wheels cost extra.
Parking for guests is a nightmare, worse than uptown. There actually was guest parking in the garage and across the street, but this was never communicated to me by anyone nor mentioned anywhere via the lease, signage, or email newsletters, so my guests and I never knew. I found out after I moved out. They are terrible at communicating.
Cell signal for all carriers within the building is exceptionally weak. Sprint is almost non-​existent. Test thoroughly before moving, including data. If weak this makes life very frustrating.
When I moved out they never cancelled my gas or electric and I was billed until I had to personally call each company and terminate. Greco was supposed to do this. It’s 4 months after I’ve moved out and they still haven’t cancelled my Xcel despite the fact they’ve been notified by Xcel. I’ve wasted about three hours of my life trying to rectify this even though it’s the building manager’s responsibility.
Upon move out I tried to leave my fob and key in the unit but someone had already moved in. Consider that for a moment. «Here’s your new unit, Mr. Tenant. We’ll conveniently omit that the old tenant still has access to your unit and mailbox.» Terrible execution. Nothing short of malpractice.
During my last month they did not pro-​rate my rent as I was moving out on the 26^th. I emailed Greco to correct this and got no response. Finally, they then told me they were going to overcharge me and then credit me later. Consider that for a moment. «We’re going to overcharge you, we know it’s incorrect, we refuse to go into our billing system and correct it, and you’ll just have to wait for a refund later.» What an embarrassing business practice.
They claim you can pay rent online but their system does not accept ACH or Visa, which are easily the two most popular forms of online payment. Really customer centric, Greco.
BOTTOM LINE:
If you have a high tolerance for failure but require a swank unit and building, then this might be for you. The rooftop and views from it are second to none in Minneapolis. Greco’s buildings tend to be awesome at this across the board.
If you actually want your semi-​expensive rent that you pay every month to equal care and a well run living experience, then this is not for you. You will simply be appalled that every chance they have to delight you they will most likely disappoint you.
The best sign of how Greco feels about tenants is that they sent me a survey after move in. I listed out, play by play, the four things that were all disastrous about my move in (things they all had complete control over), including the fact that it took them several days to list my name/​unit on the front intercom system, preventing me from letting in any guests for days. I gave them the feedback they were supposedly looking for.
Their response? No response. Silence. Thanks for being tenant-​centric, Greco.
Oh, and four months after moving out I’m still in their front door directory and getting calls late at night when people want to get in. Is it so hard to delete me? My experience leaves me with the conclusion that VUE is run by people who simply do not believe they are in the people business, rather, they are in the building business. At $ 1280 per month, I would think one could expect better.

Was the best apartment I have lived in when managed by Greco, since Weidner has taken over the quality of service and amenities has decreased substantially. You can find better apartments for less $ even right downtown Mpls than VUE now.
