Wilson Library

I would really love this library if it weren’t for one thing: their shelving is just bonkers! On any given day, while you are wandering around looking for your book, you will bump into at least 2 other people just as frustrated as you. Sometimes your book seems like it should be in this place, tip though is to walk to the next aisle and look for it there… The people who work there even have a hard time doing finding books. And it’s not like I’m a dummy when it comes to libraries, I grew up in libraries and have only ever had a problem with Wilson. It is impossible to find a book and some aisles are way to small. Literally only one person can be in the aisle at a time.
Wilson is a great place to study, but to reduce your stress, get your books someplace else.

Wilson library is the U’s primary library for humanities, arts and social sciences. Along with a huge collection of books in these fields, the sub-​basement floor’s shelves embrace one of the most complete collections of books and documents about India and Asia. James Ford Bell Library, located on the fourth floor, is also another addition to the Wilson. It’s a collection of more than 30 000 rare books, maps and other documents donated by the founder of General Mills Co.
During the exam seasons, the library is crowded but at other times you can easily find a comfortable desk in the public reading area, in one of the three public group study rooms, in one of four private group study rooms or if you don’t want to use your laptops, in one of the two deep quite study rooms. Faculty and graduate students also could apply for a carrel.
The library patrons are mostly considerate. But like other libraries, you may see some inconsiderate, noisy patrons especially in the group-​study rooms. Sometimes, the only thing they don’t do is study! And finally: IF YOU DON’T WANT TO ACCIDENTALLY WATCH A PORNOGRAPHIC SCENE WHILE WALKING AROUND, YOU SHOULD LOWER YOUR LOOK TO AVOID THE LIBRARY’S COMPUTERS’ SCREENS ON WHICH SOME STUDENTS WATCH PORN!
