Massage Envy Spa – Minnetonka

We’ve been members of Massage Envy for years, and this is clearly one of our favorite spas. Reception is very professional and service oriented. You’ll seldom have a wait, and checkin/​checkout is quick and efficient.
The premises are inviting and relaxing. The lighting is low, but still allowing good visibility. The ambience is quiet, with soothing massage music played in the waiting and massage areas.
You will check in, relax in the waiting area with complimentary water or tea, then your therapist will come greet you and escort you to your massage room. The therapist will ask your preferences, then leave you to disrobe to your comfort level. There is a click on the wall with large numbers, and I’ve never received a massage shorter than I’ve paid for.
This spa is one of those that has a couples room, which is great for those wishing a shared experience for their massage. (Nice for couples, mother/​daughter, etc.) Everything is always very clean and well maintained.
It can sometimes be a challenge to book your preferred therapist on short notice, but that’s to be expected to a certain extent. With some planning you can generally arrange appointments with your preferred massage therapist.
Some rooms have sinks and one suggested improvement would be to provide some way in each room to allow guest to wash off massage lotion before dressing.

From the moment I walk in to when I leave its a great experience. The front desk staff are always welcoming. The waiting room is calm so I can relax and prepare for my massage. My massage therapist, Amy, is always friendly and customizes my massages for my needs I have at every visit. Amy is very professional and knowledgeable. I always leave feeing better and more relaxed. When I leave the front desk always asks how the massage went and how I feel and offer to set up my next appointment. I would highly recommend going here and seeing Amy.

Must.book.with.gregg…That’s all the advice I have. I’ve been a massage envy member for about 5 years now, and just started to come to this location in November. I asked for a masseuse who could do deep tissue, and they paired me with Gregg.
Reasons why I recommend this spot & Gregg:
1) I’ve found a masseuse who listens to what’s causing the pain, where it’s located, and then offers his recommendations. He has his own technique but adjusts on the fly if the pressure is too hard/​too soft. You can tell he knows what he is doing and actually cares to ease the pain and work out the knots.
2) The staff is friendly, sends appointment reminds the day before by phone and by email, and let’s you change within 24 hour notice.
3) If you are a member, you can roll over unused massages as long as you need to. I ended up not using my massages for a couple months, and then went and got a massage every week!
4) You can transfer a massage to a friend — I think only once every 6 months if it’s the same person.
5) Tip your masseuse! 20−25% of the non member rate. I could never stand on my feet for hours!

I got a great massage here that I badly needed. My girlfriend set me up with a 90 minute session and it was wonderful. I needed quite a few areas worked on and my therapist focused on all them. I felt like a new person after my session.
This is also a very nice location… modern, quite large and very clean. If I lived in this area, I would defiantly check this lol action out and sign up for a monthly massage that would absolutely do my body good.

Very nice massage and therapist. A little more pushing of upgrades than some other locations but over all very satisfying. Promotions are very good and overall a relaxing experience.

Massage Envy is a rip-​off. I have 5 paid for massages that I cannot use before October or I will lose them. They bill you monthly regardless of whether or not you use the service. I am not able to use the sessions I paid for as give-​aways to family members. They do not let you cancel your contract even under uncontrollable circumstances. The hours do not match my schedule. I must come in evenings or weekends — there are no early morning times. Do not get trapped into a membership if you want massages or facials — just pay as you go somewhere else. You get «enticed» into purchasing expensive products — when all is said and done with tip and products, you could have had a full day at a real spa.

I have enjoyed my membership and have found a few different therapist I like. I usually like going once a month but will sometimes save for a month and then go in for a massage and facial. I love pampering myself.

I have been a member at the Ridgedale location for over three years. There is some discussion on this review site that suggests Massage Envy is less then moral with their billing. I have never had an issue with this. In fact they were very accommodating when I requested they close my daughter’s account and transfer her paid for massages to my account.
This Massage Envy location has never let me down. Courteous and capable staffing welcome me to their haven of calm tranquility.
Having experienced a number of their licensed, massage therapists, I have never had a bad session. Of course, I have my favorites. One in particular is exceedingly skilled and able to use his size, experience, empathy and compassion to consistently leave me feeling renewed.
I love it when I need to adjust my rear view mirror after a session!

AMAZING! They got me in last minute and it was totally worth it! Sam was my therapist and I would never want anyone else after that amazing massage he just gave me! I loved him and his techniques so much I will be back in less than a week so he can keep working on my knots. I will come back any time I am in town and always request Sam as my therapist. Absolutely SUPERB.

I have been a member of massage envy for several years and really like the Ridgedale location the best. The spa has a friendly environment, it’s very affordable, conveniently located and my therapist, Greg, is fantastic and has a lot of experience and truly enjoys his profession. I’ had to try out a lot of therapists to find the right fit so don’t give up. You may need to try a variety before you find a match. Just tell the front desk staff what you’re looking for and they will recommend therapists to suit your needs. The price I pay for my massages is a fraction of the price that other high-​end spas charge and the quality of the massage work is far better! Highly recommended!

If I could give zero stars I would. This is a horrible company who will bill you for services and then not honor them. Ridge dale is the worst. Rosedale said they would honor my last massages if ridgedale would turn my account back on but they flatly and rudely refuse. There is a lawsuit regarding this very thing that massage envy is facing and I will be joining in. We can’t let companies like this get away with stealing from their customers!

No no no and no.
I asked for deep pressure and the guy laid into my back with his elbow and full body weight like I’d challenged him to hurt me.
The way I’m feeling this morning just isn’t right.
This is my second massage there. The first was a «deep pressure» massage at the Plymouth location from a woman who appeared to have all the professional training of a fast food employee. She was more touching me than massaging me.
Neither «therapists» conducted themselves like any massage therapist I’ve been with anywhere before in my life.
Their membership model is exactly like old school health clubs: you cannot cancel unless you move out of range of their virus like locations OR you get a doctor to say they can’t touch you ever again. (Since they just destroyed your back, for which they aren’t liable, according to their membership contract. Know you ride their massage tables at your own personal risk.)
You have three days to cancel their deal with the devil contract, so keep that in mind if you just signed. I’ll be cancelling mine today.

Tanya is the migraine master. You should go see her. I take off a star because the customer service there is mediocre. Although, they could be holding the fact that I used to work there against me. All that really matters is Tanya’s massage is amazing.

I have been a customer of Massage Envy for quite awhile now. You can count on consistency, cleanliness, friendly therapists, schedule appointments the same day, and a good value. The best therapists are Faye, Greg, or Justi.
