It’s good for Wisconsin. Nothing gourmet. The fried mac n cheese was a pleasant surprise. We stopped for snacks and drinks and they were a good choice. Not sure about a meal there, and for Minocqua you can def do better

We used to love to stop at T. Murtaugh’s whenever we visited Minocqua, but our last few visits were less than stellar. Bartending staff is unfriendly at times and ignores customers who walk in if they’re chatting with friends or regulars. And enough with the blaring country music(not everyone is fan, you know.) Ruben sandwiches are great here, though, and the burgers are good, too. Be sure to try the cherry bombs.

Friendly service. Good food and drinks. Very cozy and laid back and not too crazy. A great sports bar.

Have been visiting up north for 30+ years and now live here full time; finally stopped here for lunch. Hubby had the fish fry and I had a burger. We enjoyed our food; the potato salad and clam chowder that came with the fish fry were especially good! Nice place to remedy our cabin fever :)

I have been to this bar a few times over the years when up visiting a friend’s family. Now, they all live here year round so my review is probably a bit slanted I’m sure I was treated better than the typical summer tourist from Illinois. So service was excellent and the value for dollar is always fantastic. Last time we were pounding long islands that were on special since we had a DD. How much were they? I have no idea since I don’t remember leaving the bar and lost my receipt for my tab. Other times, it was tall and stiff captain and cokes for 4 bucks. It is not a pickup joint. It is not clamorous. It is only Irish by the name. But the people are nice and the drinks are cheap. What’s not to like?

Super solid«Irish» pub in the middle of Minocqua. Irish goes in quotes because, well, you know the kind. Sports bars with a super laid-back, casual atmosphere that happen to bill themselves as Irish pubs. I mean, there are essentially two types of Irish pubs in the good ol’ US of A as best I can ascertain. Type I: Dark woods, low lights, serious Guinness pours, Red Breast, bangers and mash if they’re also a restaurant, Irish music in the corner, Slainte all up in the hizzy… Type II: Sports bar plus some shamrocks from a party store strung up somewhere and an Irish name.(As I’ve already note, T Murtaugh’s falls more into this category…) But that’s not a bad thing, really. I mean, I like the faux-Irish-sports bars myself from time to time. And this one? Good pub food, nice staff, good prices… heck, 6 tiny beers for 6 bucks? Win win win. A great place for a drink and a bite if you’re in the northwoods of glorious, glorious Wisconsin.

We went here last Friday for a fish fry, and we really enjoyed ourselves. For $ 9 you get an all-you-can-eat pollack fish fry or baked fish option. Potato choices were french fries or potato salad, it came with coleslaw, a good piece of rye bread, and clam chowder. The fish was lightly beer-battered, and it tasted a lot like a fried chicken batter. Aside from being a bit salty, the fried fish was very good. Our server was really nice and attentive, and even got a final order in before the kitchen closed. This place was very affordable, and I would definitely go back again.
