Miramar Branch Library and Education Center

This can be an amazing place for study, expect for the people here.
People here are plain annoying. They treat this place like a McDonald’s hangout. You come here to study, not chit chat about.
But got to appreciate the efforts of the authorities to maintain this place neat and tidy.

I come here to study (I’m a physician) so i need totally concentration, i come here because is in front of my apt complex. And i prefer a study ambiance that being at home where my bed can be a temptation. This place is always clean and organized, the staff is very friendly.
The reason why i don’t give 5 stars its because is too loud! They’re always talking even u can see people using their computer and listening to music. Also there some skater teenagers that come here pretty sure just to «refresh» with the AC, they do a lot of mess with magazines.
Fortunately theres a quiet room where everybody is studying, also 3 tutors room where u can reserve it and thats the perfect place to go with someone else if u need to explain something or talk about the class without bothering others.

Spacious, clean, bright big windows with couches nearby. The children’s section didn’t have as many kids’ books as other libraries I’ve been to, but they have plenty. Their kids’ DVD section, however, is pretty impressive.

Always clean and organized. Willingness to help from staff, suggestions. Classes and events. Yes, I’m a fan.

The Miramar City Hall complex is very beautiful… City Hall, the Arts Center, the public offices and utilities buildings, the shady parking lot… and yes, the Library.
As a library, this branch is inviting, clean, and well staffed by your usual quirky librarians… the ultra-​serious middle-​aged woman, the retired man who is there to keep active and has something to say about every book you check out, and the librarian who insists on announcing that you have 30 cents in overdue fines, at the top of her lungs.
That said, the on-​shelf selection at this branch is rather small compared to other branches, especially in the new releases section. At the same time, their Biography section is extensive, and they regularly have $ 1 book sales in the lobby. I use this branch as the branch I use to order holds from other branches.
Their hold pick-​up system is great, and much better than the one over at the Southwest Regional branch, At the Miramar branch, there’s a self serve system. Your holds are on the shelf, labeled, and you go and grab them. Quick and easy, and you don’t need to feel ashamed to ask the counter-​librarian to fetch your copy of Sex for Dummies.
The college classes held in the building cause the complex to be a little hectic at times, but overall, the Miramar Branch of the BCPL is wonderful.
One added bonus of this location is the drive-​up drop of windows for your books and loaned materials. The counter also offers a self check out terminal. Take note, every time I have used the self checkout, my books set off the alarms on the way out. That, and the newly updated website for the system make the Broward Library an inviting, modern, and user-​friendly resource that more people should visit.

This is one of the most organized and clean libraries I have set foot in. While not very large, I wouldn’t call it small either. There are a couple of spaces with flat screen monitors for internet use. One of which is a room and appears to be used for computer classes. The other is what I’d call an internet lab.
There is a children’s department but I definitely feel this library is geared more towards adults and students. There are several rooms that can be used for one-​on-​one tutoring as well as a general study room. The general study room has plenty of wall outlets for laptop use. The library has an extensive DVD collection and they also carry PS3 and Nintendo Wii games.
The library is located in the Miramar education center and Nova University has a campus on the third floor. That makes parking a little scarce weekday evenings. A cool place to drop in and pick up a good read or just browse.
