I’ve run the Sand Pit 5k twice now and I’m a fan :) The course is all on the sand and in the water so you don’t need shoes which is the best part about this course. The obstacles are pretty cheesy for the most part but its a fun race, it isn’t too crowded, and they stagger the heats enough so that you aren’t running on top of other people. The picture service they used on the last go round sucked but hopefully they’ll improve on that in the fall race. They did make improvements between the first race in the fall of ’10, and the second race (spring ’11). I’m thinking the upcoming race this fall should be the best one yet :)
