I went in on a Tuesday at 7:12 pm without an appointment, I was not aware I needed one. This office is very close to my home so I decided to go in, there were probably 3 other people waiting. There was 4 girls behind the desks and I had to make myself acknowledged for them to notice I was there. I explained I wanted to file my taxes, they were not polite at all and asked me if it was my first time there, I said yes and the young lady hesitated and looked at the other two ladies. I guess they were all in a hurry to go home because none wanted to help me. One of them rolled her eyes and seemed upset. I completely understand I should’ve scheduled an appointment but you would think they would be a little more courteous or welcoming. I would have to say they lack customer service skills, I ended up leaving. It was my first time there and I certainly will not return, it was a bad experience and that’s definitely not the way to bring in new clients. I’m glad I was able to find a place to file my taxes elsewhere with professional and polite staff.

Another year, another painless filing. The level of professional here is the best. I feel welcomed year after year. Their friendly family atmosphere is beat by no other. Stop wasting your time trying to find a great tax guy when Enoch is the answer you are looking for. He and his staff will make you look forward to filing.

Do not go here unless you want to pay the IRS a fine for their mistakes!!!
I came here in 2012 to file my taxes and I ended up paying for their mistakes with the IRS! They made typos on my taxes hence the reason I received a return, which I questioned why, and he explained to me ‘why.’ I received a letter from the IRS a year or so later informing me of the mistakes that were made on my taxes. Anyways, I had to pay back A GOOD AMOUNT because I was fined. I attempted MULTIPLE times to call them to help me out and NO ONE EVER ANSWERED– useless! ‘Quick’ and careless service should be their motto.

Do not have your taxes done by this business. I went here from the good amount of positive reviews. Probably their friends and family.
So I needed them to file for years 2011 – 2014. What I thought was them doing a good job initially totems out to be a nightmare. A few months after I filed I received a notice for earnings to be withheld from the ftb. For years 2011. They also told me they haven’t received years 2012 – 14.
So I called Martinez tax services. Come to find out my taxes were sitting on a desk and were never filed. This is four months later. So I was suppose to get a $ 3k tax return for the 2011. Since it was never filed the irs said I owed $ 950. They are taking 25% of my check.
I went to speak with Enoch. All he said was he was sorry. that they get busy and make mistakes. He wouldn’t give me a refund. Wouldn’t offer to pay for their mistake. All they did was e-​file it and give me paperwork to mail in. The bad part is I am past the time to get my 2011 tax refund. So I lost the $ 3k and only not have me owe the $ 950.
They do not stand by their work. All the employees are independent contractors. So you can’t sue the company. You have to go after the individual. So now I’m running around trying to fix what they messed up.
To top it off Enoch and I had a 10:30am meeting to sort this out. He shows up nearly at 11am with a bag full of McDonald’s. Didn’t apologize for being late. Then to boot he blamed me for everything because I filed so many years at the same time. If they were professionals that shouldn’t have been a problem.
Avoid this place like the plague. If you want your taxes done efficiently.

I filled out my info with turbo tax and the out come was three times smaller than last year’s return. My friend recommended her guy, Gilbert at Martinez Tax Services. She said he’s super friendly and never dissappoints so I decided to give it a go. It was a bit of a drive from downtown but so worth it. He got me a huge refund compared to what turbo tax had first quoted. I recommended him to two others and they had the same experience! One of my friends said turbo tax said he owed but then ended up actually getting money back! «Gilbert is a golden God» he texts me the next day. Seriously… this place rules!

I’ve been coming here for years. I have referred family and friends.
I’ve only ever been helped by Enoch and he’s gotten me through tough spots. Their customer service is superb, but the new guy that helped me with tattoos could be schooled on friendliness.

Always crowded but worth the wait. Call before hand and make an appointment. Professional family operated business. I always refer friends and family to Martinez Tax Services they take care of you

I’ve been filing my taxes here for a few years now, I love the service and the staff is awesome too. I highly recommend this place and highly recommend you to choose Derek for your tax guy.

Everyone is courteous and nice. I love going to family owed business because they actually care for you! Derek always helps us out! I definitely recommend it.

I just have to say that I’ve been coming here for the past 4 years and Guilbert is awesome! He knows his stuff! I would recommend seeing him, everyone I have sent him walks out with a smile. I drive an hour every year and it’s worth it

Receptionist would not give me a price quote over the phone. She insisted I come in and pay $ 25 to sit with one of their tax preparers to figure out how much I’m going to pay to file my forms. I left messages for Gilbert L multiple times and he refused to return my calls. The receptionist kept saying that they are too busy to return phone calls. They sound unprofessional and unorganized to me. On the upside, I’m glad I discovered that they couldn’t care less about my business before making an appointment.

I was highly recommeded to try this place out. The tax preparer Gilbert was kind and very professional. He took the time with me to explain things to me. They are very busy so that goes to show how good they must be.

Love this place! I’ve been coming here for many years and refer all of my friends. Derek is the best and worth any time I have to wait!

I’ve been going to Derek for a few years and every year he’s done a fantastic job. There’s a little bit of a wait but totally worth it. Derek knows his stuff and guides you in the right direction. Professional and efficient. Last year it took two weeks for the return and this year it took one week. Highly recommend their service.

Perhaps their service is good if you get your docs to early. I had my appointment about three weeks before the deadline, but apparently you need to have your info over to them months in advance. On ⁴⁄₁₅ I still hadn’t heard from them… I called a couple weeks before the deadline to follow up and again the prior Friday when they promised me it’ll be done on time. No dice. I finally got through on the day of the deadline and I guess it wasn’t a surprise that my taxes were not complete. Good thing I filed my own extension as a precaution. It would’ve been a nice gesture if they had advised me to file an extension.

We have been coming here for years…
Since they were in Sylmar. We’ve been seeing Enoch and each year I make an appt and I always wait, but not more than 15 mins.
This year was a complete disaster. To make a very long story short Enoch double entered some money we used from our IRA. Which in turn showed that
we owed the IRS double. When my husband called to get more details, Enoch blamed it on me and said that I should of caught the mistake because the amount we owed was so huge! Needless to say I was in shock! Who’s the professional here?
After having to file an addendum we have called the office and never receive return phone calls. One time we even had to call from a different number that they didn’t recognize on their caller ID. We got through to Enoch and he said to fax over paperwork, but after doing that he still hasn’t called us back. We are still dealing with the IRS and are cleaning up their mistake. Enoch admittedly told us that this scenario happens to him at least once a year. We basically paid him to mess it up for us and don’t receive return calls.
After reading more reviews it seems as though this is how they conduct business. Very unprofessional. My next step is the better business bureau.
