Excel Dental & Orthodontics

I have been a patient of Dr. Lapsi’s for the past 3 years. I was referred to him by a family friend whose entire family has had some form of dentistry performed by Dr. Lapsi or his associates.
Excel Dental & Orthodontics is a first class operation and fully up to speed with every/​any dental needs and at the forefront of the industry and best practices. The staff, from entry to exit, make the experience of going to the dentist a truly comforting experience.
Dr. Lapsi is a true professional, courteous, direct and really makes it feel that he has all your best interests in mind when it comes to your dental health. Contrary to the «stereotypical norm» of fearing the dentist, I really look forward to my visits at Excel Dental and my experiences and interactions with their amazing staff.
Dr. Lapsi is a very thorough dentist. Upon an initial exam and x-​rays, he consulted with me on my mouth/​teeth. Least to say, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) with the amount of information I had received.
My previous dentist, Dr. Kashani had done a terrible job with my fillings since they had fallen out three times. Although, she had a swanky office with lots of gadgets, but apparently she really doesn’t know how to do basic dentistry like fillings. Over the past 3-year’s I have had my bad fillings replaced, have had Orthodontic treatment to correct my bite, had my wisdom teeth removed and have had cosmetic Veneer’s done. No problems ever since.
Seriously, Dr. Lapsi and his team at Excel Dental & Orthodontics are the absolute best. They are personable and patient. As busy as Dr. Lapsi is, he always takes his time talking with me about my treatment and answering my questions.
Overall great service and impeccable knowledge of what they do. I work in a work environment where appearance is everything and the folks at Excel Dental and Orthodontics keep me smiling all the time.

Dr. Lapsi was all that you could ask for in a dentist and more. The office is nice and clean but most of all the staff — Glady’s, Dee and Sarah as well as the dentist’s-both Dr. Lapsi and Dr. Rawal are what makes this place awesome. The reason Excel Dental & Orthodontics is different from my previous experiences is cause the staff seems to have a very patient-​centered care, from the moment you walk in and speak to the lovely, cheerful front desk staff, from the time you are being treated by Dr. Lapsi and Dr. Rawal to the final moment when you walk out. Dr. Lapsi gives you all the information you need to understand the condition of your teeth. He looks at the entire situation and works with you to find the best plan of action. He truly strategized and performed a thorough assessment to develop the best plan.
He actually believes in addressing the actual source of my problems and fixing my bite before we fix my teeth so I can live pain free — eventually no jaw clenching, grinding, or popping! The staff goes above and beyond to help with every aspect of your visit. I left with a treatment plan which consisted of some Dental Implants, filling’s, Root Canal Therapy, Crown all to be followed with a Final Invisalign treatment. I loved the fact that all my options were given to me– both treatment and financial, so I know what lies ahead and what my insurance will cover.
Lastly, I’d have to commend Excel Dental and Orthodontics on the level of cohesiveness and overall warm vibe you sense going in as a patient. It’s definitely not one of those dental offices where you feel as if each staff member is just doing their own thing, or that you’re just the next patient to get seen. I’d say that the team here definitely seems to be invested in their patients and takes ownership and pride in their work. I would recommend Dr. Lapsi and Excel Dental is an office to anyone looking for a Dentist and if you have one I would suggest to switch. Trust me you will not be disappointed!

I never write reviews, but I felt the need to write this review because I had amazing experience in a unfortunate situation. I was having dinner with my family yesterday and while enjoying my food i cracked my tooth. Never have I felt such pain! I Unilocaled the nearest dentist and luckily found Dr.Lapsi. I called his office at 8:00pm hoping they would answer, which they did, I was so amazed!!! He gave me an appointment first thing in the morning and took care of my tooth. They truly took good care of me! Gladis, the front office Person made me feel so comfortable, she helped me with my treatment and game me a 0% payment plan.
I’m so happy with the result I definitely recommend this place!!!

BEWARE!!! This dental practice is a total FRAUD. They advertise braces for $ 2,495 then they’ll tell you that you need an «appliance» another charge of $ 700. My son is the perfect example of their scam. I was charged a total of $ 3,200 which did not include retainers (retainers were an extra $ 1,000). Well, long story short the «appliance» I was told my son needed was never incorporated in his treatment and yes I paid for it. I kept asking when they were going to put it in and they kept saying next visit. After a year, I didn’t feel comfortable with them treating my son so, I got a second opinion and stop his treatment with Dr. Lapsi who by the way isn’t even the orthodontist. STAY AWAY from this place. I do plan on filing a complaint with the ADA. I’m sure their reviews are all fakes.

I Despise going to the dentist. I avoid it as much as I can, but Lesson learned. Avoiding does not necessarily mean that the problem would go away! In fact that never happens! It all started with a gnarly toothache on Saturday and off Course I didn’t think much of it. I thought that my wisdom tooth had been coming out for some time now and anyways why bother with it since it only hurts for a day or so anyways. Man, was I completely wrong ! The pain didn’t go away and there I was Sunday night moaning into Monday morning not being able to sleep because of the throbbing pain. I called a bunch of dental places inquiring about emergency wisdom tooth removal and nobody in my area could give me an appt.
Then I called Excel Dental and Orthodontics, whose information I got from Unilocal.Glady’s took my information and said that she could schedule me for an apointment on Monday itself,
I came in 10 minutes early for my appointment. I was taken in immediately, after which Sarah, the Dental assistant took a panoramic x-​ray of my jaw to figure out the next step. All this while, Glady’s and Dee kept assuring me that everything was going to be alright even though my teeth were hurting.
Dr. Lapsi came in and was so respectful and sensitive to my situation that I felt at ease immediately. He did a thorough examination of my mouth and found out that the pain was caused by an infection around my wisdom tooth.
Poor Glady’s should get a raise because she was not only doing her job (the oral surgery side) but she was helping the front with people checking in and juggling phone calls. I sat patiently… yes I was in pain but I understand when things happen and after all I was accommodated in between their patient’s. She came by as soon as she could with the treatment plan and explained the process. She asked when I would like to set up the surgery and without hesitation I said ASAP.
On the day of the appointment my friend came with me as I opted to be put under sedation as I can not understand why anyone would choose to be awake for something this traumatizing? Marysole called me in and took me to the surgical room. It was very clean and there was pleasant music playing in the background. Dr. Lapsi was very nice and reassuring. He once again explained the procedure to me and I felt very at ease. Marysol hooked me up to take my blood pressure and connected a little monitor to my finger. She came behind me and put the laughing gas over my nose and told me to take deep, slow breaths through my nose. Before I knew it, I was in a very happy place. The last thing I remember was Dr. Lapsi putting the plastic things to keep my mouth open and I knocked out. Next thing I know, Sarah is walking me downstairs to the side door (where the parking lot is) and my mother was sitting there waiting for me. Dee was very detailed and explained post-​op instructions to my mom which luckily were printed and included in this neat little package they give me some gauze and a gel pack to help with swelling immediately as well as a prescription of some antibiotics and pain meds.
Today is 3– day’s after surgery and although I can see swelling, nothing really hurts, I feel like I’ve been well taken care of by everyone at Excel Dental. I highly recommend them. They really look out for you and are very thorough with their processes. Glady’s even called me after 8pm and left me a lengthy voicemail with more detailed instructions! Such great service!

Dr. Lapsi has to be one of the best Dentists in the city. I needed all four years of my wisdom teeth removed as per the X-​rays that were taken at the Laguna Hills location of Excel Dental, where I am also getting my braces done. The X-​rays revealed that my wisdom teeth were completely within the jaw bone. Dr. Lapsi is an awesome dentist and his staff is great. He thoroughly explained the procedure during my initial consultation and put me at complete ease. Dr. Lapsi is a very knowledgable, humble and caring dentist. That went a long way towards instilling confidence for a Dental Chicken like me. I can’t recommend him enough. Dr. Lapsi was very aware of my fear of surgery and took extra precautions to make sure I felt safe and okay. Once again, excellent Dr and the staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Now it’s day two after the surgery and I am shocked at how well I am doing. Hardly any swelling and very little discomfort. I am simply astounded at the work Dr. Lapsi does. He knows what he is doing to not only make the surgery as painless and quick as possible but his skill is evident in the post-​op phase.
I highly recommend Dr. Lapsi for any surgery or any complicated procedures that your Dentist is unable to perform. He is also available after hours, which goes a long way to show his dedication towards his profession. Excellent experience.

Needed my wisdom teeth taken out — The office was very clean and appealing to the eye. Staff was friendly as well as attentive. One day job and was very satisfied. Dr Lapsi office appeared to have very current equipment and technology. Over it was a pleasant visit considering I dislike dental visits. Two thumbs up for the good work!

Been going to see Dr. Lapsi for a while and i highly recommend it! The staff is not only professional but very welcoming everytime. The last couple times i have had nicki do my cleanings and she is very thorough and such a sweet girl. This is the first time i actually enjoy going to rhe dentist!

The staff here is extremely friendly and professional. I have only experienced top notch service with a smile. They are flexible with payment plans and work with my crazy schedule to get me in. Dr Lapsi and the staff take time to ask about my life and they really personalize the experience here. You aren’t treated as a customer but more as family. Allright, I personally havent met more than two people who enjoy going to the dentist. Everyone usually hates it and sees it as a chore, that everyone tries to avoid. I personally get very anxious at the mere mention of the word ‘Dentist’ so when I knew I was searching for a new one and read the Unilocal reviews on here I was actually looking forward to trying out ‘Excel’. Before you jump to conclusions, it wasnt a miraculous move but took an emergency to get me to go in but I can proudly say that I only had a pleasant experience, that left me converted.
I called Monday morning fifteen minutes before they opened and someone answered! I had broken a tooth the night before and fought the pain all night. Not only did I not have an appointment that day but I was also a new patient. They didn’t care, they made themselves available and I was in there by 10:30am.
Everything from being greeted at the front desk by Gladys and Dee, to meeting Dr. Lapsi was a seamless and pleasant experience. Trust me, it’s not an easy job trying to keep a person calm when they have a tooth ache. The fact that the team at Excel Dental was able to do this is very creditable. The office even though small is very clean, the waiting area super pleasant (it can be nerve wracking waiting for the dentist but not here) and the technology the dentist employs is awesome! They even have have calm meditation music on the chairs, to calm the anxious nerves. Dr. Lapsi also had a camera that showed me my teeth from the dentist’s point of view. Luved the fact that he actually took time to explain me and not just treat me like someone who doesnt understand the Dental Technology. The office is extremely warm, clean and high tech. For the x-​rays, you can view them on the TV while you are in the chair and they will walk you through them.
On my first trip I got a tooth extracted, an Implant procedure, a Root Canal Therapy also got a temporary cap. Needless to say, after a long hiatus for not seeing a dentist, I do need more treatment and am scheduled for my follow-​up appointment’s. The office staff offered me a payment plan which was approved through a credit-​check. It was perfect since the payement’s are divided in 2-year’s which worked out great for my budget. Even though I was in the chair for almost 4 hours and I was extremely comfy. They were super aware of my stress and made every effort to make me comfortable. They paid attention to my safety and comfort the entire time. They also call your prescriptions in while you are at the office so you just have to go
pick it up.
Gladys even called to follow up with me the the day after to see how I was doing. I must say beyond excelelnt service. Overall, I have been super satisfied with my experience and am looking forward to my
next few appointment’s.

WORST dentist I’ve ever dealt with. Dr. Lapsi is very cold — not friendly at all. Staff below standard and unprofessional. I went in for a simple x-​ray and cleaning. Left there with suggested treatment course of $ 2K. Was told I needed work that was not really needed and was charged for service I did not receive. Also, was charged on wrong fee schedule. When I went back with evidence of errors, they said they would look into it but I never heard back from them. Called 3 times and was told someone would call back, but never did. RUN, RUN, RUN as fast as you can from this guy… I’m sure the positive reviews are made up by the staff — could not be any other reason for them!

It has been such a great experience going to this dental office. I always come here to get my usual cleanings and filings if I need some. The staff is really friendly, especially Gladis making the visits more comforting. I recently had an implant which I was scared of getting, but Dr. Lapsi and Gladis helped me cope with my anxiety and the procedure went very well. I highly recommend this place, best experience I’ve had at the dentist.

I have never felt to comfortable in a dental office. I’ve always been so afraid in going. Dr Lapsi and Gladis helped me get over my fear and get my life going. They worked with my budget since I don’t have insurance. I’m so greatfull I found them. If you don’t have a dentist i definitely recommend them. They truly changed my life. –Mitzy Montalban

Do NOT go to Dr. Lapsi. The receptionist «DeDe» does not know what she is doing. They charged me for service before they were completed and sent a fake receipt of me agreeing to the services to Care Credit. Dr. Lapsi always has too many patients and cannot complete the what he promises. BEWARE.

The Doctors and staff here are amazing. The prices are reasonable and everyone is very pleasant. Couldn’t be happier.

Dr. Lapsi and Dr. Maysam (and the entire staff!!) make going to the dentist enjoyable. They will give you the best experience possible. Before I was recommended this dental office, I avoided and feared going to the dentist. Now, I feel comfortable and confident. If you are looking for dental work, oral surgery, or cosmetic surgery. look no further.

Wish I could give negative stars! Office staff is incompetent and unethical. Promises work not completed. Get the «come back next week, come back next week, come back next week. Made me pay upfront and didn’t bill insurance until after I complained, but not complete records or insurance to pay me back. BBB says their rating is an «F» Filed a claim with the CA dental licensing board. Guess civil lawsuit is next. Anyone know a good attorney?
Requested records and they would not provide complete set for me to change dentist. They have also not provided them to the California Dental Board, my new dentist, or the insurance. They submitted a few partial documents, and not the xrays. The documents provided to insurance were in conflict with documents provided to me at the time of service.

If I could give 10 Stars I would! I’ve never felt more appreciated or helped than when I was referred to Dr. Lapsi. The entire staff is so thoughtful and kind. The offices are super clean and comfortable. They took me on a Friday afternoon as an emergency call in for a whole mess of problems that led to 3 fractured teeth. They really break everything down for you, and help you come up with a solution that is going to benefit you THE MOST. I really feel they put me before their pocket books and that’s not something I have felt with any dentists in the last 30 years.
Im referring them to everyone I know! Just A+ customer service and dental service. So glad I found them!

I am just now signing up for benefits next year and realized I have never left Dr. Lapsi a review.
Dr. Akash Lapsi is an excellent dentist. He listens to your concerns, addresses what the issues are, and gives you options on how to proceed. You are then given an estimate and detailed outline of expenses before the procedure takes place. He respects that the patient makes their own choice, and will not push for more than what you request.
I was so happy to find Dr. Lapsi. After growing up with an excellent dentist, and then experiencing a very bad dentist and a guilt tripping dentist, I was thrilled to find a doctor who was informative and did not talk down to me for my decisions. If you want a doctor who listens to his patients, gives excellent service, and wants what is best for YOU, I would highly recommend Dr. Akash Lapsi.
