History

Established in 2012.

Gold & Braid Salon is the passion of long-​time Ladera Ranch resident and seasoned OC stylist René Beckner.

René has been a fixture on the Newport/​Costa Mesa hair styling landscape for 15 years, but it was always her goal to create a salon near her home in Ladera Ranch that reflected her youthful energy and whimsical personality.

Gold & Braid is a bright, airy and inviting space with a fun, rock ‘n’ roll vibe that echoes the Stevie Nicks song for which the salon is named.

A cheerful and easy-​going stylist with more than a decade of progressive salon experience and continued professional development from the Vidal Sassoon Academy, René prides herself on her precision cuts and keen eye for color.

«It’s important to me that my clients’ hair enhances their own natural beauty. The only thing that matters is that when they leave my care that they look and feel their absolute best,» she says.

When she’s not focusing on hair design, René enjoys time with her husband and two young children.
