Me and my husband were looking to sharpen our knives and crossed paths to Ike’s services here on Unilocal.With all the great reviews, we knew we had to give him a shot! It was very well worth the drive from SD. He is such a genuine person and quick! Not to mention, our knives came out SO sharp! We left happy! Thank you again IKE!

Before exacting any work upon your knife, Ike takes his time to know you as a customer and tailors his services uniquely to what you present. Prior to each step of the sharpening service, Ike likewise makes an effort to explain what he is doing to each part of your knife and how that exact step will be beneficial. Unlike questionable past sharpeners who quietly began hacking and grinding away at my knives at their stations, Ike ensured that I fully understood each procedure he performed. He carefully taped my KA-​BAR knife to prevent damage prior to placing it into his clamp, a conscientious step that so many other sharpeners ignore, and was able to restore even my most damaged of serrations. At the end of our session, I could firmly attest that my knife had been the sharpest it has been since the day that I’ve owned it– possible even sharper than the day it came from the factory.

Like no other technician of any sort that I’ve encountered, Ike truly cared greatly for me as a customer and provided me with a number of tips and pleasant tales to help learn more about his business and to ensure the maintenance of my knife. Ike is a swell guy who did a GREAT job sharpening a bunch of knives that my parents hadn’t sharpened in about 20 years. They’re like new, and cooking for my folks is now a joy instead of torture trying to cut an onion with a dull blade! Ike was also full of suggestions for an upcoming trip to New York, being a proud New Yorker himself, and I really appreciated his friendly demeanor and professionalism. I will definitely bring my knives to him again in the future.

Like many others I found Ike on Unilocal and decided to visit him based on the reviews he was given. I must say, he certainly deserves the praise everyone has given him. His quality of work is second to none. My kitchen knives are sharper than the day I purchased them. He is such a friendly man and is happy to answer any questions you may have. I’ll definitely be back for the recommended follow up.

It was a pleasure to work with Ike. He showed me just how dull my knives were; they barely cut paper when I dropped them off. He sent me home with a loaner knife, despite the quick turnaround. When he was done my knives were slicing paper like ninja blades. Ike really cares about what he does, it shows in the little things. When I got home and read the knife care instructions he sent home with me he included two band-​aids which I am sure I’ll need now that I’m getting used to slicing with sharp blades.

My knives hadn’t been sharpened in years. Not only did Ike sharpen them, he made them look like almost-​new and cleaned up the butcher block drawer insert I brought with me.
A sharp knife makes a huge difference in the kitchen. No more mangled tomatoes or slippery onions! Food prep for cooking is much faster and enjoyable when you’re not struggling with a dull knife.
Ike offered to email me a reminder to have my knives sharpened every six months or yearly. I very happily opted for the six month plan; he is very affordable.

I used Ike’s Sharpening Services for the first time just a few days before Christmas. Trusted him with all 7 of my kitchen knives. I took him my knives mid-​afternoon and picked them up the next morning. They are once again as sharp as can be. Ike was very friendly and easy to talk with and the cost to sharpen all of my knives was very reasonable. I could not be happier with the experience, and I can recommend this service wholeheartedly!

Great service and value, I highly recommend Ike’s Sharpening Services. My knives were long overdue for a sharpening and Ike did a fantastic job bringing them back to life. He was knowledgeable, friendly and helped educate me on how I could keep my knives in great shape.
Ike took care of both my regular and cerated knives and the edges have never been better. I dropped these off on a Saturday afternoon and he got the job done in less than two hours. I will be going back to Ike every six months to get my knives tuned-​up.

Sharpened and removed the rust from my Yoshihiro knife in 5 minutes. Blade looks completely brand new, and no sign of rust. Price could not be more affordable! Just wish I had remembered to bring my kitchen shears.

I took 3 knives to Ike last week, three that were easily 5+ years old, that couldn’t even cut a tomato and had never been sharpened professionally. They were a disaster waiting to happen. Called Ike. We spoke on the phone and to my delight he asked if I could come over and he’d be able to do them right away.
It probably didn’t take more than 20-​ish minutes and my beloved knives were back to being slicing ninja warriors! Love it. I can’t believe I had to be convinced (by my husband) to just sharpen ours instead of throwing them away and purchasing new. That would’ve been such a waste.
Ike was super kind, super informative and a fun fella to chat with while we waited. (I took my 3yo daughter along to watch.) For the money, I would never consider buying new again. They just needed a little love.

Ike is professional and the quality of work is excellent. He took the time to talk to me about my knives and how they are used and what I should/​should not do in caring for them. My knives came back perfect — it really was like they were new. Cooking had always been fun, but with expertly sharpened knives, it was like a dream. Thank you Ike!
