Jasco Appliance Service

They are totally dishonest. They work for/​with SEC retrieving used refrigerators for an SEC refund. They NEVER answer the phone. And when an automatic reply asks you to leave a message, they never respond. Between them, and SEC, they do incite murder. They could readily make a film about this con job. Too bad there isn’t a minus 100 stars to give them.

I bought a used kegerator last year which had a rusted part that we discovered after getting it home. Jasco was one of two local authorized repair shops listed on the manufacturer’s site. The replacement part cost nearly as much as we paid for the kegerator, but they were certain it was needed for it to run properly. Several months later, it stopped cooling again. I set up two appointments for Jasco to take a look at it again and both times, they were no-​call, no-​show. Not worth the time or the money.

Update: I spoke with GE regarding scheduling service for my dual ovens. They stated that I could not schedule service because Jasco actually file a claim for payment as though they had completed a repair! «Fraud being committed by Jasco» comes to mind here. GE was very concerned with the action (or lack thereof) by Jasco, as well as how I was treated by Jasco’s owner. GE is moving forward in removing Jasco as an authorized maintenance company.
I had to file a complaint to first remove Jasco’s claim from file before I could schedule for new service. The call to GE took over 30 minutes of my morning, but at least I’m getting close to having my ovens repaired in time for the holidays.

If you ever have to have Jasco come out to service your appliance, just buy a new one. They are servicing my washing machine through a contract with Home Depot, since my washer is still under warranty. I have had nothing but problems since the first day I contacted them.
— On a Wednesday, scheduled a service call for Friday. Received a call on Thursday advising the tech wasn’t in the area on Friday and rescheduled for Monday between 10 – 2. Received a call on Monday that the tech was running late but would still be to my house that day, though they couldn’t tell me when. Finally received a call the tech was on his way, he arrived 45 minutes later between 4 – 5 pm.
— Tech examined washer, approached me with paper to sign so they could order the part. That’s it. I had to ask what was wrong, what was the part that was needed, and when I could expect it to be fixed. Was told the standard response from Sears (Sears?) where the part was coming from is 2 weeks. However it could take longer or it could be shorter. I asked if I would be notified if the part was going to take longer and was told no, the company didn’t do that and I just had to sit and wait until they called me at some point in the future to schedule a service call.
— Waited two weeks, tried to phone for an update. Turns out apparently Jasco was closed for a whole week during the holidays, which I was not informed of. At this point, washer will have been broken for 4 weeks, Jasco service has taken 3.
— I complained to Home Depot who provided me with a loaner washer as I explained it was the holidays, I had a 3 month old baby and couldn’t be this long without a washer. Thankfully, Home Depot was and has been very helpful through this ordeal. They took over phoning Jasco periodically for updates.
— Was told my part would be in week 5. Received a call from Home Depot that the part didn’t arrive and that it would be in the next week.
— Week 6 I finally receive a call from Jasco to schedule a service call. Scheduled for 10 – 2 on Friday. Home all day with baby, sitting next to front door, no TV on… miss a phone call from Jasco and they leave a message stating that I needed to be home for the service and that they would need to reschedule. I call them back stating I HAVE been home all day, the baby’s been napping so the house is quiet so there is no way someone came to my door, knocked or rang the bell without my hearing it. APPARENTLY, I missed the phone call so they didn’t bother coming out. She said she’d contact the tech and see if he could come back out later that day.
— I call Home Depot and speak to the Service Supervisor, Carolyn, and beg her to send out another service company because Jasco is WORTHLESS. Over an hour goes by and I hear nothing from Jasco, Carolyn says she will call to find out what’s going on.
— Carolyn calls me back and gets Jasco on the line in a 3-​way conversation so, thankfully, she can hear the «service» Jasco has been providing me with. The woman, Peta or Petra or whatever, has the nerve to argue with me over the phone. Tells me that she just heard back from the tech 10 minutes ago and that he would come by sometime before 5, but again, couldn’t say when. I was basically told that I needed to leave a note on my door saying that I was home and to ring the doorbell, as I explained that while I had arranged my schedule to be home between 10 – 2 as asked, that with a by now 4 month old baby, I couldn’t always drop what I was doing to answer the phone.
I called at 5:15 when no one showed up and received a recording stating the office was closed. I was about to leave my house at 6 when the tech comes walking up the driveway. So I guess I’m fortunate he showed up before I left? Hardly… once he fixes the main part, he states that there is ANOTHER part that needs to be fixed. I say, «Great! Does this mean I get to wait ANOTHER 6 weeks for that part to come in?» He tells me that they are ordering the part from a new company that guarantees all parts in a week, however he is not sure the part is covered under the extended warranty. At this point I ask him how much the dang part costs and can we just buy it ourselves? He tells me the part is only like $ 30 and easy to install. He says once he leaves and gets to his office he will call us back with the part number and call us on Monday of the next week to let us know if the approval came through from the warranty service. Says to give him about 2 – 3 hours when he would call us. I am editing this review now in week 12 and we have yet to hear from the tech or from Jasco period. The grand high supreme being of extended warranties at Home Depot has apparently now gotten involved and it seems that no one has been able to contact Jasco for the past 2 weeks. I am told that if no one can reach them in two days, they are going to commence with a settlement for my washer. All this for a $ 30 part??? Seriously? Don’t understand how Home Depot can afford to keep doing business with this company.
