Our Mission: Saddleback College enriches its students and the south Orange County community by providing a comprehensive array of high-​quality courses and programs that foster student learning and success in the attainment of academic degrees and career technical certificates, transfer to four-​year institutions, improvement of basic skills, and lifelong learning.

History

Established in 1968.

Saddleback College was officially named by action of the board of the South Orange County Community College District on February 26, 1968. In June of that year, the board approved the Gaucho as mascot and school colors as cardinal and gold. The College welcomed its first students on September 23, 1968 at an interim site at 26 522 Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo.
