Description

Specialties

Cadence 120 Bicycle Works, the Gulf Coast’s and Mobile, Alabama’s professional cycling retailer, carries Giant bicycles as well as a large assortment of cycling parts, accessories, and clothing from Pearl Izumi, Serfas and Shimano.

History

Established in 1988.

We opened our store in 1988 and after five busy years, moved to a larger building. Then, in 1998, we settled into our current 6,000 square-foot custom-designed cyclery at 5558 Old Shell Road. We’re proud of our store and work hard to make it attractive, comfortable and as functional as possible. With its open ceilings, warm colors, classy brick walls, antique bike collection and pleasing layout, it’s our home away from home. Our wish is that you feel at home here, too.

Meet the Business Owner

Brad B.

Business Owner

For Brad Burton, biking has been a lifelong passion. An old roadie, he’s been riding competitively since he was thirteen. In both junior high and high school, he took several 2nds and 3rds in road races he entered. He also worked in several bike stores, mostly doing repairs.

He continued to ride and race as he worked on (and finished) his degree in marketing at the University of South Alabama. Soon he was mountain biking as well.

Then, in the summer of 1988, he took a job at Cadence 120. Little did he know how that would turn out. Within a few years, he had become a partner in the business. And it was at Cadence that he met his wife-to-be, Laura, which eventually led to the birth of his two sons, Will in 2000 and Nate in 2002.

In the meantime, the store prospered and grew, doubling its size with a move in 1992 and again with another in 1998.

Today, Brad stays busy raising his family, riding regularly, racing once in a while and, with the help of his staff, running the store. H
