History
Established in 2011.
Over 50 years our family has been in the seafood business, primarily shrimp. We started out in the business working on shrimp boats. In 1990 we began a wholesale seafood business, Edgewater Seafood, Inc. in Bayou La Batre, AL. In July of 2011 we expanded into the retail sector by adding a retail seafood market and deli in Mobile, AL.

Business Owner
Thomas Auld born in 1937 is the fisherman that started this «legacy». He learned what hard work was all about at a very young age. He helped his family as a kid by providing wild game to eat and selling the hide for money. He did chores for others, sold scrap metal, and many other odd jobs, all while in school. At the age of 15 he began his career as a commercial fisherman on a small shrimp boat in Georgia waters. In 1957 he married Judy Albrecht and had 3 children. In 1967 Thomas moved his family to Alabama to work on larger shrimp boats. He worked hard to save and purchase his own shrimp boats. He was usually out shrimping for 2 weeks and home for 2 or 3 days. His son, David, worked as a deck hand for his father for several years. In 1987, they started a wholesale shrimp business, Edgewater Seafood Inc., in Bayou La Batre, AL. They are proud of the reputation built over the years and have expended into retail by opening Fisherman’s Legacy a seafood market, deli, and catering business
