Bobby is the best mechanic I have ever been to. Goes above and beyond to satisfy the customer. The best experience having my vehicle worked on or getting a smog check. I can’t say enough good things about this shop and its owners.

Took my care in for multiple things… oil change, blower resistor, brakes and struts. They were very professional and honest about work i needed and what actually wasn’t needed.
I would highly recommend this business if you’re looking a fantastic place to have your vehicle repaired. Only place I’m taking my car from now.

I brought my wife’s car in on the recommendation of a few coworkers. Turns out she had a bad water pump. They were very up front about my options and honest about the pricing and timing. I know enough about cars to diagnose and repair most things on my own but the price was reasonable enough to let them make the repairs for me. I’ll definitely bring my vehicles here for any repairs they need.

Bobby is not just the best mechanic I’ve found in the Modesto area, he’s the best mechanic I’ve had period. He is completely forthright and honest about what my car needs and does not need, and I’ve never felt wary of his recommendations. He offers the most reasonable price and works to keep the cost down. And above all that, his work is simply the best.

Was advised by another mechanic I needed to replace my catalytic converter and was quoted MUCHO DINERO to replace the catalytic converter. At about the same time this was going on I received my DMV notice to get this particular vehicle smogged. I took it down to Bobby and told him what was going on. He diagnosed the problem (Exhaust leak & not catalytic converter) and sent me somewhere reasonable for the fix. Great Job Bobby!!! I tell all my friends if your car needs smogging GO TO BOBBYS.

Bobby’s is a great place to go for smog and smog repair. Literally probably the best smog place I’ve been to. Bobby was very friendly and helpful. Eager to genuinely tell you what’s going on with your car, keep you updated, tell you what everything means, etc. Not at all trying to get money out of you — just make you happy with coming to his place; by the service performed. I would go here every time. Very pleased.

These people become family. From the front office, to every mechanic, they take excellent care of my car. Bobby is what home town is all about. After moving to La Loma, I accidentally found him, and take my car nowhere else. On a Friday he stars late, because he didn’t want me driving without a taillight. He checks my fluids when I’m going on a trip just to make sure I’m safe. He helps me work with the tire company down the street, even driving my car there when I need. I work late in Stockton, so sometimes Katie and Bobby have dropped my car off AT MY HOUSE. I am truly grateful to this business.

I came into Bobbys in a sort of emergency situation. My cars check engine light came on out of nowhere then stopped accelerating properly and shaking severely all within a 10 minute span.
This was my first time ever having to take my car into an auto-​repair shop so I went to Bobbys by recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed at all.
1. They had my car diagnosed within an hour.
2. They had my car fixed within a half hour of that.
3. They legitimately gave me EXCELLENT customer service.
I was incredibly impressed with the personal attention each person gave to me. Every person in the building remembered my name each time I came in as I was in and out of the building because I live 2 blocks away and was taking care of business at the house. I’m not incredibly informed on pricing of these types of things but I felt the pricing was fair.
If you’re considering going here I’d recommend going before 2pm if you plan on just walking in based on what the person running the show expressed to me about their availability, otherwise making an appointment may be a good idea.
All in all it was a great experience and will continue to go there moving forward.

Love this place! Bobby and all the guys here are so friendly and honest. I always take my vehicles here for repair because I know they will do it right and won’t try and scam me! Super quick service and they even show me old parts and why they need to be fixed. Super affordable and honest… doesn’t get any better than that!

We stumbled across Bobby’s a few years ago. The car needed to be smogged. I got online and found a coupon for Bobby’s. My husband took the car in, and said he trusted Bobby. Bobby was a good guy.
Since then, we have gone to Bobby’s more times than I care to count. We have refered others to Bobby. I’ve heard others say, «Bobby is an honest guy.»
The most recent visit to Bobby was this month. On Halloween, my husband was driving home, and lost control of the car. Bobby’s was already closed, but we had the car towed there anyway and left it in the parking lot. Bobby’s is closed on Saturdays and Sunday’s, so we had to just sit and wait.
Imagine his surprise when he showed up on Monday and found a job sitting there! Bobby gave me a call to give me the estimate. He was very clear that once he was able to get to the problem, that estimate may change. We were told how long it would take to get it done, and he did it in that time frame. When my husband went to get the car, Bobby was very diligent on showing my husband the damaged parts, and explained what work he had completed.
It’s always horrible when you take your car in to a mechanic. We are very pleased with Bobby. With Bobby, we know we will get quality work done with an affordable price tag. Knowing we can trust Bobby takes the sting out of having a big car problem. We can’t thank Bobby enough!

Bobby & Staff did a great job at diagnosing my cars’ issue and got the vehicle in quickly and had my car done by the end of the day.
The job was done fast, inexpensively and with friendly service. When picking up my car, Bobby brought out the broken piece to show me what was causing the issue. He also did a complimentary over look of my cars’ fluids to make sure that I wasn’t being duped over by the mechanic’s who previously told me I would need additional services.
I will be going to Bobby’s Smog & Auto Repair for any auto services I need! Highly recommended!

I got stuck with an overheating car, very far from home. Stopped here because it was the only close place with reviews on Unilocal.THEY WERE FANTASTIC!!! Found the problem, told me I can make it home (over 100miles away) with no problems. Filled me up with water and fluids, and had me back on the road in minutes. Gave me ballpark pricing on the repair so I knew what I’m in for when I got home. Really a fantastic experience and I’d go back there if ever stranded in Modesto again!!! Thanks guys!!!

i came here all the way from concord ca. to go to bobby’s smog, because i wanted the job done correctly, i wasn’t disappointed. very quick and efficient. reasonably priced too.
