Michaels

This store has the best customer service i have ever seen. I went into the store looking for gum paste. I was unable to locate it. We asked a salesperson and she immediately came to help us. we also had two other sales reps helping us. One of the employees went above and beyond to help us find that product. They are awesome. I wish i got their names.

I love love love this store! I can stay there all day if I could lol. The staff is always friendly and checkout is quick! The store has everything u could possibly need and at awesome prices!

Amazing customer service! I just moved to the area from the east Bay Area and the difference in service is a wow factor. I was greeted multiple times, when I needed to ask a question about navigating my new local Michael’s I found an employee in less than a minute, who told me the isle to go to and that an employee would be waiting for me when I get there. Sure enough there was an employee there in the next isle finishing up another customer and looking for me. She helped me find the kids crafts I was looking for and talked about the products, they were plastic beads for kids– AND she still made me feel important. Even chatted for a sec about my kids and then was on to the next. I’m so shocked at how considerate people are here. I’ve never had this service at any box style retailer. Way to go Michael’s I will be back!

Love this store, always well-​stocked, helpful staff and clean. I tend to spend wayyyy too much money here, but that’s not a bad thing right? I love that they always have my favorite yarn in stock, even when it’s on sale, I never have any issues with them having what I need on hand.

Just another Michaels. Nothing special about their product variety or their staff. Staff isn’t the most helpful. The line is always ridiculously long. There might be 5 staff members on the floor, but only one person at the register. They won’t come up and help even if they see the long line. Michaels does have great deals though!

This place is wonderful! They’re always so friendly and well stocked. You’ll find everything you need and everything you won’t need lol. All sorts of crafty items to buy. Anything you can imagine! I strongly recommend this place. Although they do seem to close early. But thumbs up here!

I stopped to going to Michael’s as soon as Hobby Lobby opened.
I personally feel that they are extremely overpriced. I would pretty much avoid this store at all costs, I would save so much more online. Every once in awhile I would have to make an unfortunate trip into the store though. I would only ever go in to buy 1 thing and on two occasions I was in line for 27 minutes! Oh my gosh, I thought I would explode. This location is so understaffed :(or was, maybe they have finally hired more reps.
Oh well, doesnt make much difference now anyways since Hobby Lobby is around.

Such a huge disappointment for a Michaels. I believe I asked the manager where to find one item and rather than showing me where it was, she just pointed her hand in one direction assuming I know my way around this store. Finally when I’m checking out the girl wearing glasses doesn’t say hi, doesn’t tell me my total and especially didn’t tell me thank you. So rude. I’ll definitely never shop this location again.

Just want to Unilocal about AMY a manager there. For some reason she is mean and hateful. She throws a wet blanket on your creativity and if you are in a happy mood that’s what seems to bring out her bitterness. Was she like that in her job interview? If so, shame on who hired her. She needs customer service training. Why does Michaels have coupons if the manager is crabby and impatient with you for using them? I am craft shopping elsewhere. I spend too much on my various hobbies to be treated like garbage at Michaels.

I really do love Michaels but they are really overpriced. Now that Hobby Lobby is in town, it only makes sense to take a longer drive over to McHenry to get all the stuff I need at a bigger discount. They do however always have coupons and have the Martha Stewart product line which is cute and trendy.
Staff are generally helpful… just not in the budget to be spending a fortune on DIY. If I wanted to do that I probably would just pay someone to do it for me.

It’s hit or miss here. They don’t always have what I need, but when they do, the price is terrific. Sometimes I wait in line forever, and sometimes I get in and out.

Cake decorating, scrapbooking and crafting, oh my! Michaels carries products for all of these hobbies and more.
I often shop at Michaels for cake decorating supplies. The prices are reasonable and they ALWAYS have coupons (usually 40% off an item). Occasionally you will find the valuable 50% off coupon which I like to use on big ticket items. The last time I had such a coupon, I used it on the Ultimate Decorating Kit from Wilton. Pre-​discount, this item would have cost $ 199.00 plus tax. Savings of $ 100.00? Yes please!
I wish I was more of a crafty person. I would totally buy materials to craft something, like a jewelry box per say. But seriously, Michaels is legit. Great deals and products. That’s all. ;)

Just a warning to others who shop at Michael’s on Sisk Road in Modesto. I had bought 2 poster frames. After getting them home and hanging them up, they did not go with my décor, nor did they hang flat against the wall. When I went to return them, I was told they could not take them back because they were not in the «original packaging.» The original packaging was shrink wrap!!! I asked if they would at least give me store credit, but I was again told no. So now I’m out $ 54 with two frames I don’t want. I am a long-​time customer of Michael’s, but I won’t be a future customer. Just remember to save your «original packaging» when you buy something here in case you need to return it!

I love this store! This is just a giant place full of baubles and trinkets for the crafters out there. I wanted to make a bracelet for my sister’s birthday and was able to get quick, friendly help and some great beads for cheap. There was actually a girl transferred there from another store for the day and she didn’t know where she was going but offered to help me out. I asked her for an opinion on my project, she was honest and helpful, which I really appreciated.
I love the staff here, they seem genuinely nice and willing to help… and unfortunately that is sometimes rare in Modesto!

I enjoy going to this store not because I’m a craft lover because I’m not. I took a cake decorating class. The price for the class was very inexpensive. The teacher was down to Earth and very detailed in her explanations. The staff at Micheal’s was very helpful they all knew where the items in the store where and were happy to help. Almost every time you buy something you get a 40% off coupon.

NEED to HIRE more CASHIERS!!! Spend too much time waiting in line!

This is one of the nicer Michael’s. It is large and filled with gotta love/​hate items. So much variety in this store that it literally will suck the dough right out of my wallet.
They always have a large selection of craft items to fill up my time. If i am in the mood for flower arranging, scrapbooking, painting, collaging, this is the place I go to. :)

P. S. if you see something expensive and you gotta have it… buy a pack of gum, you will get fresh breath, not even a dent in your wallet and a coupon for 40% off for the following week to purchase it. :D Is that not sweet or what!

Actually I like this store. I’m really not a craft minded person but once in a while I need something that I can’t get anywhere else but Michael’s. There prices are good, kind of high for some items but overall not to bad. The staff that I have delt with has been very knowledgeable and helpful which makes for a good shopping experience. Would definitely recommend it.

Michaels and I have begun sort of a craft love affair. I’m working on tons of wedding stuff, and have been in here pretty often. The stock is usually pretty good. The coupons, are great! Seriously 50% off, you can’t beat that. My complaint is the staff. As Miss E said they are generally un-​willing to help. They’re often clueless, and not the friendliest bunch. Usually I drag the fiancé around aisle by aisle trying to find what we need. Ugh, I guess that’s the price I have to pay half priced items! FYI plan on spending a bit of time in line. There’s usually one (maybe two) registers and the associates seem to move at a snail’s pace.
