I had a great experience in the parts department today where they really went out of their way to help me with a parts problem. This will potentially save me over $ 200 and it’s due to the excellent service they provided. I’ve happened to use them in the past as I’ve had both an Audi and a VW and they are local. They also reliably found the right parts, and when looking for an obscure bolt or fastener were always willing to order a few different ones so we could match up the part. I appreciate their professionalism and will continue to use them as long as I continue to own VW/Audi products.

This place is unreal. I took my car here because the heat wasn’t working, and the cooling fans for the engine weren’t running properly. They tell me it’ll be $ 150 to look at it. Fine. They call me and say it’ll be around $ 1500 plus tax to fix everything. Steep, but what can you do? I get a call two days later saying that the fans are fixed, and they replaced a faulty thermostat, but the heat still doesn’t work. Since I can’t be without my car for a third day, I decide to just pick it up from them. The charge? $ 1,648. Now I understand the cost of parts, and I don’t expect to get anything for free, but I had a hard time understanding why I should pay full price when the problem wasn’t fixed? I asked if I could drop my car off again for them to actually fix the heat, and would I have to pay? «Yes, we might need to fix other parts.» Now, if after two days, a plumber replaced pipes, but your toilet doesn’t work, would you pay full price? If an electrician ran hundreds of feet of wires, but your lights don’t come on, should you pay him? Of course not, so why the hell should Mohegan Lake Motors charge everything they quote if they can’t even fix the damn problem after two days in their shop?
