Learn a sign language because it is so loud you can not hear people at your table. The owner lady screams across the restaurant to staff. Food good Price fair Loud and not good if you like the people at your table. You will never hear them.

My husband and I love it here! Good food. Pricey for some breakfast food but totally worth it! Always busy… but that’s a good thing. Waitresses are always nice.

Food was average, a burger and a salad. The soup was really good. Husband ordered a coffee; no regular cream on the table, or an any nearby table. Asked the server for cream. Coffee was cold by the time she came back so we could remind her. Took a very long time to get the meal. I never got the muffin that was supposed to come with my salad. She asked my husband if he wanted a coffee refill while my empty ice tea glass sat at the end of the table. They should stick to breakfast. And get new servers. There were very few customers at the time. Terrible.

We’ve been here several times for breakfast and lunch and each time we went home with leftovers. The portions are huge, piping hot, coffee endless and the service is great. Try these guys out if you’re in the neighborhood.

The last time we were here was in the summer. The air conditioning was either broken or not on so we sweated through our lunch. Decided to give it one more try. Long wait for crappy food. Eggs and hash browns were cold. Skillet breakfast luke warm and greasy. Salad was good. Bathrooms were dirty and had no toilet paper and the paper towel dispenser was broken. Long wait for the check too. Couldn’t wait to get out and not come back.

We take the kids here almost every weekend for breakfast. Love the waitresses, we’ve always had terrific service. I get the egg white veggie omelette every time, and it’s delicious!

Favorite place for GLUTENFREE pancakes… delicious always! Waitresses are always very friendly and polite! Priced reasonable for the portion you get… almost always have left overs to take home. Also make sure you have the fresh squeezed orange juice… thumbs up!

So, I’ve enjoyed coming to Double Yolk intermittently thought the years, but the overall experience is just not as good as it once was. First of all, it got dirty and it seems to be in need of maintenance. The ceiling fans have dust hanging off of them, the material on the booths have gotten worn down and need replacing, and it’s just gotten kind of dirty. Today, there were used napkins on the floor of the booth we were seated at and a chunk of food on the one side of the seat. We came for a late lunch, and the place was pretty empty. They play god awful music– creepy ballads and whatnot that are hard to ignore, especially when there weren’t a lot of people in there to drown out the noise. The manager: owner? came out and started yelling at an employee for banging on her office door– from across the restaurant. It was a little awkward. The waitress was nice and relatively attentive. However, the food came to us cold, but it was still pretty good so we didn’t complain. About the food– I no longer get omelettes because they’ve been undercooked in the center on more than one occasion, and I’ve ended up getting sick. I honestly don’t know why I keep going back because it’s really gone downhill.

My family and I went here on thanksgiving for breakfast. Very good and quality food. Service was fast, no mistakes or anything, waitress was very attentive with refilling our drinks and checking up on us. It’s clean and nicely decorated as well. I got a grilled chicken and veggie egg white omelet, extremely filling!

I started off with great apprehension about coming here. At first i had sticker shock on the prices, as they reminded me of prices i am used to in Lincoln Park. That said i went over the menu. I was happy to have a delicious, HUGE ham and cheese omelet. It was Enormous, better still, Delicious. Perfectly cooked hash browns, fluffy, hot pancakes. and the coffee was ok as well. They had multiple flavors of creamer if that’s your preference. They also had great jam choices. Overall an excellent place, Oh and the Omelet with potatoes and pancakes was 7.95 quite the bargain. I would make the drive to come out here again.

Don’t come here anytime in the evening. They start getting extremely rude about 30 min prior to closing. They even push you out before closing. This has happened more than once. If you’re not willing to deal with diners at night don’t stay open at night!

Got the protein plate and stuffed french toast. Protein plate had a large chicken breast, maybe 14oz. A few eggs, and a large, actually appetizing, fruit plate. The chicken was a tad dry, but if I’m getting something called the«Protein Plate,» I’d rather have it that way vs cooked in a bunch of butter. The stuffed french toast was pretty good. Three huge slices of bread — about 1.5 inches thick, filled with cream cheese. Clean bathrooms, spooky Halloween ambiance, and friendly staff.

The food was good. The place could use some updating. Service was fine. Nothing to get too excited over one way or another.

Not a great Father’s Day breakfast experience. My wife checked in and was told 15 – 20 minute wait, after an hour, I went up to see what was taking so long, I learned they had accidentally scratched our name off of the list. No apology. I put my name in, when I went and told my wife, she went up and saw how our name had been scratched off, try told her she’d get the next available table. Of course, they called the name I put in a few minutes later. My eggs benedict was pretty good. Nice and fresh, well prepared. My wife’s Mexican eggs benedict was terrible. I’m pretty sure they gave her ground chuck spiced up and said it was chorizo. Eggs were a disaster. When the waitress came around, my wife said it wasn’t anything she could eat. By this point, she was starved but simply couldn’t take how crummy it tasted. The waitress kindly offered a replacement dish which came incredibly fast(same as mine, also not bad) When I went up to pay the bill, the cashier asked how everything was, I said, «not great, we waited an hour to get seated because they accidentally crossed off our name,» she then interrupted me and said, «yea, we’re pretty slammed.» Funny, I didn’t get the slammed pricing or the slammed discount. Last time I go on a holiday. Learned how the front of house treats customers: give us your money and go. Too bad. I miss the quality and service of Blackberry. If they were still open, I would never go back to double yolk. That place understood both quality good and how to treat a customer. Funny, Father’s Day breakfast, I’m carrying my daughter and no one even said happy Father’s Day, ex of course other customers.

This is just my opinion and based off of personal observation, I encourage you to make your own opinion. The food is decent and consistent here and you get fairly large portions. Personally I enjoy my meals and walk out stuffed. We have come here from the start and a lot of the waitstaff is the same, friendly faces that are always nice to see. The place needs to have some maintenance done, the booths are showing quite a bit of wear and generally the place is not as clean as it once was. One of the emergency lights in the kitchen has been broken and a lens hanging from it for quite a long time now. The air hoods pull out a lot of air making the front doors hard to open(to the owner; you’d probably save a buck or two on heating/cooling by having an outside air return near the air hoods to balance the building) My opinion is that all of this is probably indicative of the general state of maintenance throughout. But, really. I can live with all of that… The purpose of my review today is that for each of the last several times(10 or so) we have come here the bathrooms have been disgusting and each time I mention it to someone and it doesn’t change.

I returned here for a Christmas brunch with a group and I was surprised how much I liked my meal. Great orange juice and waffle, really hot coffee. My daughter was yearning for breakfast at night and we were able to come here and get it. Once more, I was really pleased with my food particularly the orange juice. My granddaughter is potty training so we visited the restrooms 8 times and you get to know a bathroom pretty well, these are really clean. I came back with my husband and again, I was thrilled with my skillet and ham. Plus their Orange juice is OUTOFTHISWORLD. They make it right there with real oranges, It is fresh and super pulpy. I adore it. I was wrong, this is a great place for breakfast. Even at night!

this place is very hit or miss. I really want to like it! … First of all, no wifi in a breakfast place? We came the morning after a snow storm — understaffed which is understandable. What’s not is watching the owner drink coffee behind the counter while the servers and kitchen staff run their asses off. When someone would come in the door or walk up to pay, she’d shove food in her mouth before heading their way. The coffee cup that was preset on our table had food stuck to the side. The jam packet I picked up was leaky. There is no attention to detail here so I wonder how the kitchen looks. Food is usually good but overpriced for what you get. I’m just not a fan.

Food is ok… Sometimes. Not as good as several other breakfast or diners in the area. They have a few breakfast dishes that others in the area do not have. Like a Saginaki omelet which is flamed table side. Oppa! It is decent like the club sandwiches except for the turkey club. Ham off the bone is very good. Sometimes the real turkey is. Be aware that it comes with a small amount of dry turkey slivers. Happened more than once. The hash browns suck. They use some kind of funky grease that has a weird after taste. Service is decent to good depending who you get. There is always a wait on Sunday mornings. Not sure why as there are several other better places in the area. Also the owner has questionable manners. How do you never acknowledge or say hello to regulars? Also when I complained about the turkey club he looked at me with total indifference and did not say word or offer to do anything about it. As such we have stopped coming here. There are several much better choices in the area.

Every time I’ve gone here in the past was great, but recently, it was horrible. My mom and I were waiting for our food for 30 minutes+, our waitress was nowhere to be found, and when I did finally see her, she was standing around eating. I then got my skillet in a frying pan when everyone else around me had skillet plates. When the cashier asked how our food was, we didn’t want to complain but they insisted we say what was wrong since you could see it on our faces. We then proceeded to complain about the waitress who barely paid attention to us, and receiving my food in a frying pan. The staff insisted that that’s how it is served and I argued back that everyone else had plates. What was it that you wanted my complaint for if I didn’t even get so much as an apology?! Food is sub par and the service is terrible… not to mention on the weekend you can’t get a table in any short period of time. I’m probably gonna stay away for a while,
