Mokena Community Public Library District

This is really a great library! The kids enjoy the aquarium that clearly has too many fish and there are plenty of activities, including touch screen and mouse operated game centers and an Xbox. The staff is always extremely helpful and very pleasant. The WiFi is plenty fast and there is more than ample seating, if you want to stray from the herd. There is also a quiet reading room with a Keurig, stocked up with plenty of flavors. The front doors sounds like a multiple vehicle pileup when they’re opened, but that’s the paradoxical part of the quiet library experience, I guess. Still love the place!

Very nice place to take kids during the summer. The staff was very helpful and gave me information about a kids reading program complete with prizes. I brought in a bill with our new address on it to be signed up for library cards. No ID needed. The children’s area has a good book selection, computers, DVDs, and video games.

O.K. I have lived here for almost 5 years and I didn’t even know where this place was. I needed to fax out my resume and I googled FedEx fax. This was one of the choices. When I got there I was told that if you are a Mokena resident you get to fax 10 pages a day for free. Awsome! Since I was there I figured I would check the joint out. I picked up a couple business magazines that I usually read at Boarders because they are so expensive. They even have an adult section for the non-​pedifiles. Do all libraries have that? Then I spot the Keurig K cups in the corner. Free, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Why wasn’t I informed about this sooner? I haven’t been to the library in a century, and I know that I as soon as I see anything with the word library on it I immediately dump it into the recycling bin. Wow! I can’t believe how cool this place is. I guess if I had discovered it 25 years ago I wouldn’t be looking for a job now.
