Splat Action Paintball

Awesome place to play! So much fun. This was the first place i played paintball when i was 11 years old for a birthday party. I’m now 25 and i have been playing ever since. Paintball is so much more then just a one time activity. It brings people super close together. Helps with team building and a great stress relief at the end of a long week. Go out to splat and try it.

Super fun! Great experience, even for an intimidated first timer. If you don’t have the right gear they will loan you some. Bring lunch and snacks for a full day.

Hands down one of the best paintball spots in the nation. A true destination paintball experience. Fantastic for parties also. I brought a group of friends down here for my birthday. The drive down from Portland was super scenic and once we got there we received tremendous service and attention. The courses were all outdoor in their natural glory, trees, bunkers, trenches, everything you need to have a great time. Take me up on this review and check it out for yourself.

I took my son here on a Groupon deal. It should have been a great experience but the face masks they gave us kept clouding up over and over. So basically trying to run down a field having people shoot paintballs at you when you cant see is a bad thing. I wish the staff would have had some remedies available as I would bet that they know that can happen. I little effort to educate us would have gone a long way to make the experience more enjoyable. I will probably check out a different place next time we decide to go.

John runs a pretty amazing woodsballf field here. The few times I’ve been here the crowd has been less than 20 but still a blast to go out in the woods. The fields are relatively unique and a lot of care has been put into the manmade bunkers.
Most of the fields are relatively balanced and the refs are friendly guys. It’s field paint only and their prices are reasonable. Ask for their recommendation to buy and you will have a much better day.
Prices are more than reasonable however I suggest coming on a day with 30+ people or a private group, I think that’s the best way to experience paintball for the beginner.
I intend on coming out there with my pump so look for the guy with the I4 goggles, and stormtrooper markers!

Cons:
Expensive even with a groupon.
No more towers or 2 storey buildings.
Speedball field (inflatable) always occupied.
Field could be maintained a little better.
This place is massive and there are many fields to play on. I have gone here around 10 times and not once was the speedball field free. The other «speedball» field with the black pipes/​tubes is not maintained well at all. Be ready to trip and scrape your knees and elbows on rocks in there. For just woodsball, this place is amazing but expensive. Although, I have tripped on many roots and holds in the ground.
However many boxes of paint you think you will go through, add 1 – 2 for every 2 – 4 people you bring.

Out in the country outside Molalla, Splat Action has a variety of fields in a nice wooded setting. Lots of hills, trees, bunkers and forts. Rental guns and masks were in decent condition, although having to exchange CO2 tanks was a bit of a hassle; self-​serve compressed air is easier.
If you have your own gear, field pass is $ 15, otherwise expect to pay about $ 35 for a rental package. A case of paint will run you another $ 60. Watch for Groupons, which are a big savings.
They were really understaffed the day we were there, otherwise 4 stars would have been in order. Staff were friendly and helpful, though.

Maybe, he says. It’s hard to explain.
I was a little nervous about playing paintball for the first time. I’d heard it can really hurt, and my neck was still sore from bowling and that other teen-​boy activity (see
).
But I’d paid for the Groupon a year ago, dammit, and time was running out.
I’m so glad I went. Most of the players — said the man handing out the guns — were first– or second-​timers. (The hardcore players, he said, go to a different place.) Lots were teen (some older and some younger) boys. But every person, either playing or working, was friendly and having a ton of good clean (esque) fun.
You get to tromp over hills and creeks and hide behind trees and bunkers and bushes. There are several different courses with different objectives, and the games last 15 minutes apiece. You can play as long as you have paintballs.
Whoever shows up before a game gets assigned to a team, which means that team strategy and goals usually get overshadowed by the individual’s desire to stay in the game, scope out the enemy, and not get hit. I think I got one guy, but mostly I got hit. I usually lasted longer than my friend, though, whose MO turned out to be «wait…waaaaaaiiiit…RUN FOR IT!»
Here’s where they got me, in order of games played:
1. My hand.
2. My gun.
3. Between the eyes (helmet).
4. My chest (this is how you get paint on your face under the helmet).
5. My leg.

It takes about half an hour to get there from Portland, and even the drive — feeling like you’re getting out in the boondocks — is pretty fun. If they Groupon again (just because the $ 45 regular cost is a bit more than I’d normally pay for a day of play), I’m totally there.
I do think the sting is sorta like a belly flop. But a tiny belly flop in a very small area. I dunno. It’s hard to explain.
