Description

Specialties

The Country Bum’kin is an antiques and collectibles store located in the Town of Bethel, home of the 1969 Woodstock Festival. We are located in an 1891 Country home with three floors of items representing different styles and periods, from rustic to formal, early american to mid-century modern. Our inventory includes vintage jewelry, antique furniture paintings and stemware, and many, many decorative items. We also have a great collection of woodstock concert memorabilia as well as Yasgur Farm collectibles!

History

Established in 2008.

Jenny and Jim Vielandi have always loved antiques. Jenny’s parents were hippies and their love of re-using and re-purposing vintage and antique items rubbed off on her. Jim has a great eye for a good find. Their loving aquisition of antiques took over their house and they either had to stop the hobby or make the hobby into a business. The business venture won! The store is now a multi vendor location with a vast general inventory.

Business Owner

Jenny was a NYC public school teacher for 8 years and previously resided in Queens. The move upstate also brought a change of careers and in 2008, with the help of her husband and parents, she opened the antique store. Much of the success of the store Jenny attributes to the loyal customers who patronize year round.
