Charlie’s Ice Cream

I’ve known about Charlie’s ice cream since a child. It was one of the places my dad used to take me as a wee one and Ii very much enjoyed the last minute trips. We’d always get a soft serve with sprinkles or a crunch coat. mmmh!
Now that i’m older I know a lot more about ice cream and good toppings for that matter. I love the selection of soft serve flavors. I believe they listed about 54 different kinds. WOW so many to choose from the combinations of items you make is endless and variable. I love fruit and and nut flavored ice cream. Sorry im not big on chocolate as so many others are… Boo to me lol. Anywho, the last item i ordered was a mango soft serve in a waffle bowl with the crunch coat, pineapples, and a cherry shell coat.
unfortunately, i was eating it halfway through when i realized that it didn’t have the crunch coat on it. I went to the window and told the yound lady that they forgot my coating and she was happy to fix the order. While i waited in line a man had ordered a root beer frosty and instead they handed him a large root beer soft serve. He replied that he didn’t order that and the woman said the cashier had wrote it down as a soft serve. The clerk and lady actually delivering the ice cream were two different people. Not only did the clerk mess up my order but she she did the same to another customer. The only benefit was there was no charge and he walked away with a free soft serve cone.
It’s a shame that customer service can bring down a review but hey it has to count towards the business itself. Some more informed clerks who can take an order properly wouldn’t hurt, especially if they wrote it down. I still go here but not as often as when i was a child. They have those quarter horse riding machines outside but only one works. A woman had to ask for her money back when one horse didn’t operate. Shame shame…:(

Charlie’s never disappoints! They have a large variety of ice cream, dole, frozen yogurt, and other treats. I love the their Blizzard-​esque mixes (Take 5 is my personal fave). Also their homemade ice cream sandwiches are da bomb! Open late (10pm). No credit cards though.

Best Ice Cream I ever had. You can tell the new owners are using better ingedients. If you haven’t been there in awhile, you need to try it. I heard they have expanded and are now offering a food menu as well as donuts and ice cream year round. The place is newly remodeled and very clean.
