It was okay. It was cheap — for the area. And they have so-so coffee all the time. And both the TV and the internet worked just fine. There, that’s all the good things. When we walked in we found all sorts of ‘linty’ things on the hard floor that we figured out eventually were the scraps from the old mop that they must have used to mop up the floor. You know, those dirty old gray string mops they used back in elementary school in the lunchroom? Well, the results were not much better, as I found out when I stepped into the shower in the morning after walking from the bed to the bathroom — black footprints on the shower floor! The room had a ‘cleaning fluid’ smell to it that several hours of open window did nothing to dissipate… although by morning I had gotten used to it. The beds are full beds, not queens. They do advertise that, but be prepared for a narrow sleeping experience for two people if you are used to queens. Admittedly we were on the back side and maybe the rooms are a little nicer on the front, as one reviewer noted… but I had not seen that. The staff people were friendly, though, and while I would probably not stay here again it would just be that I would like to treat myself a LITTER better…

It is a no frills hotel. No breakfast, but coffee is available anytime in the lobby. Rooms have been updated to modern style with hardwood floors. Minor issues with the wear and tear of this hotel, but overall recommended for a budget friendly stay in Pittsburgh. SPECIALREQUEST: Be sure to request an even number room. The parking lot on the backside(odd numbers) has a very full-time lived in feel & gives off a bad vibe.

By the time I got to the hotel, I was getting tired for sure. We had a coupon. I was impressed by the smell when we walked into the lobby. The front counter host was very nice and efficient. After checking in, we received a call from the front desk asking if everything was ok and to our liking. The room was very clean. If visiting again, I would stay here. Recently updated rooms… great staff!!!

Nick came through. The reservations were screwed up. I was tired and mad, went to my room. He then called after he discovered the error and gave us a complimentary room. This is true service and it was appreciated after a long trip.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Red Roof, especially for the price per night that I was able to get it for(a $ 39 special), but I must say, I left impressed And willing to try Red Roof in other cities. I found it an odd combination of ameneties. The room offered a fridge and microwave, nice size desk/table and free wireless. But there was no hair dryer or iron. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Not much more you can ask for from a budget hotel.

Very friendly staff that will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Quiet location and not near a busy street. Discounts to local restaurants while you stay at the hotel. Free wireless internet. Nextdoor the new UPMC hospital and great shopping malls!

I stayed here for two nights. I was very happy with everything. I’ve generally had very good experiences with Red Roof inns and this place is no exception. The place was immaculate and everything was in top condition. It was a very cold two days, and my room was totally cozy the whole time, in spite of never having to turn on the heat. The wireless internet(which you need to pay extra for if you don’t get a king-size room) was fast, had a strong signal, and was very reliable. The only downside is the location. It was convenient for me, but, it’s a pretty awful area, just suburban office parks and strip malls. Pretty awful… you can’t really walk anywhere from here.
