History

Established in 2002.

Caldera Power Services was open on nights and weekends servicing primarily residential customers while owner Chris Caldera worked full time in the commercial lighting industry.

In March of 2013 the Sylvania Lighting branch where Chris was working closed. He decided to run Caldera Power Services full time. Caldera Power Services now services residential and business customer’s electrical, lighting and signage.

Owner Chris Caldera worked for Best Fluorescent, Amtech Lighting, and Sylvania Lighting. In those roles, he handled more than 13,000 assignments as simple as ballast changes for fluorescent systems and as complicated as managing high profile high-​rise building, government and financial institution projects, some valued at over $ 1,000,000. In his 30 years of experience, Chris earned numerous certifications and credentials including:

Chris arrived literally 5 minutes after I called him! I randomly lost power in the middle of the night and he saved the day! He didn’t mind me watching what he was doing and was very friendly and was willing to explain things to me. I highly recommend him! What he charged me was very reasonable.

He is thorough, thoughtful and skilled in his work such that once I hand the electrical problem over to him, it is solved and remain solved. I needed an electrician to install a ceiling fan in the bedroom. There was no power source so he had to tap off the closet light. I had tried several times to find someone that would do this job, but never had any success. I decided to call Chris after reading all the reviews on Unilocal and I am so happy I did. He responded the same day with an email estimate and was able to schedule the job in about a week. He arrived exactly on time, did an excellent job, and explained everything to me. I am SO HAPPY… I finally have a fan and now an electrician I can highly recommend.

Very reasonably priced and very fast.
We needed him to fix some poorly installed lights with weird electrical connections that was done by someone who was either lazy or didn’t know what they were doing. He fixed it, checked the rest of our electrical lines, and installed a light switch all under 2 hours. Love him.

Chris does fantastic work. I hired him for installation of new motion-​sensor security lights around the exterior of my mother’s the home, which also required running new wires and installing new junction boxes and switches. He also installed a new GFI outlet in the kitchen. Chris is extremely professional, personable, honest, thorough, organized, and tidy. The pricing for his services are fair and reasonable for the high quality of work he provides. Chris truly takes pride in his work, making sure everything is done right (and to code). It was a pleasure working with him.

Chris has done work for my wife and me at our home, and most recently here at my office. We have always been beyond satisfied with his work, and have never hesitated to refer him to others. He is the consummate professional and operates with a conscientiousness that is very rare to find these days. We needed two new outlets on a wall to mount our new television. I had a few electricians come asses the scope of work. The other electricians came, looked at my wall, said they would email an estimate and left within minutes of arriving. The other electricians never even sent an estimate.
I looked for other electricians in the Monrovia area on Unilocal and Caldera Power Services came up. I called and Chris answered. He stated he has a lot of work but is always willing to take on new customers. He came that night to look at our wall. He then looked at the attic and then worked his way into the crawl space beneath the house.
To my surprise Chris had an estimate sent to my email within 12 hours of his visit to my house.
I decided to proceed with the work.
Chris Caldera did a fantastic job. He has a very calm demeanor and is an easy going guy. He seems to enjoy the work he does and he has made a lifelong customer in me.
Caldera Power Services is the way to go.

I can’t say enough good things about Chris, who recently completed a massive update of all the electrical wiring in our (old) house. He is thorough, explains things clearly, consults you often, makes suggestions without upselling you, and provides extremely clear and thorough estimates and invoices. He had some great suggestions for us that we were happy to take (tamper-​proof outlets for our small children, a few spots where an extra receptacle would be handy), and he was really considerate, cleaning up after himself, patching, and even working on quiet tasks during our kids’ naptimes. It was so appreciated, and made a month’s electrical work go as smoothly as it possibly could. Chris’s rates are reasonable, and he was also open to working with my father-​in-​law assisting, which helped keep costs under control as he discovered that our old house had way more problems than we’d known about before the walls were opened up. We’re really happy with the quality of the work (it passed inspection with flying colors), and grateful to Chris for his stellar job!
One of my favorite aspects of Chris’s communication is his estimates and invoices. You can see a clear breakdown of estimated costs for various items (both parts and labor), and in his invoices, he shows you a comparison between the estimate and the actual cost and an explanation of the difference. It’s awesome. I highly recommend him!

We had a small repair — needed a new GFI box on an outlet. I logged onto Unilocal and got the name of six electricians. Three never answered their phone. Two had voicemail, but didn’t call back for six hours. Chris answered immediately and took the job. He came on time. Worked fast. Identified the problem immediately and fixed it. I am very happy that we now know who to call any time we have electrical needs. Excellent service, nice fellow and consummately professional. You won’t go wrong with Chris.

We were remodeling a house that was over 50 years old and was concerned about the electrical wiring. We found exposed and outdated electrical wiring in the attic, which is major no no. Our entertainment system and TV’s were also plugged into outlets that were not grounded.
We found Chris through a recommendation from our local handyman. We called him up and he was able to come the following day. Chris was able to explain the challenges with the current state of wiring and made recommendations.
During the rewiring process, he patiently worked through a claustrophobic-​type environment for hours on end, both in the crawl space and attic. It took about 2 full days to complete the job and made sure the area was clean before he left. He also sent before and after pictures to show the work he completed.
On a side note, we also had a mechanical gate opener installed at the same time from a different vendor and Chris found the wiring was done poorly. He even went above and beyond and discussed with the gate installer to get the job done right, in which they complied. He certainly pays attention to detail, always thinking safety, and cares about his work.
Chris is courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable about electrical systems. We’d hire him again in a heartbeat.

Chris did an expert job installing garage lighting, running wiring through conduit and hooking the lights to a combo switch and receptacle. He showed up at the time he promised, completed the job with attention to detail, and cleaned up afterwards. I couldn’t be happier with the work he did for me.
