MINI of Monrovia

The only reason this review gets 5 stars is because of the sales rep, Javier.
Javier is the only reason I am in my beautiful Mini Clubman. Not only did he talk to me on the phone days before, but he walked me through the whole process. I have to admit I was not an easy client, as I was undecided about which Mini I wanted. I couldnt decide between the Countryman and the Clubman. But Javier found MY CAR, It had all the features I wanted.
It was a difficult decision as this was my first self financed car, yet Javier stuck with me the whole way. The deal was reasonable and I am ultimately happy that I decided to get into a Mini.
I almost backed out of the whole deal when I went to talk to finance, however. I felt that they were trying to intimidate me and for that I would deduct a star.
So If you go here, please talk to my friend Javi! You wont be disappointed.

My car (2013) was leaking gas and stopped in the middle of the road right after I got my service done here at mini of monrovia. All they have said is «sorry this happens to you.» No any other explanations. FOR YOUR SAFETY, DONT EVER HAVE YOUR SERVICE DONE HERE!!!

I took my mini for an oil change here since maintenance service is covered but my experience was nothing but frustrating. I made an appointment day before just to make sure they are given advance notice. Still that did not help what so ever!
Arrived at 10:30 for 11am appointment. Didn’t get helped until 20 mins later. I prepared for the wait so I had my husband pick me up. The service guy said he will call me when the car is ready.
2pm still no call. I called and was told my car is still in the «queue». The service guy called me back and swear the car will be done by 3pm. I got there around 2:30pm and sat for 1 hour. I had to walk over to ask why it’s 3:30 and my car still not done. Then he went to check on it and finally got to leave at 3:45.
The only saving grace was that people were not rude here. But that does not make up for the extremely slow service! Even a simple oil change which can take only 30 mins at other places took 5+ hours to complete. If I have to do anything else to my car, it may take 2 – 3 days!
I will try to go to another mini service place next time.

Go anywhere but here. No loaner cars, poor communication, slow service –and I mean DAYS longer than it should take while you’re making other arrangements to either rent a car or do without. If you have a problem, don’t bother trying to speak to Ernesto, the manager, he’ll just hide from you

They have complaints against them through both the BBB and the Bureau of Automotive Repair.
Between service and sales, I couldn’t find anyone who knew anything about the cars they sell/​service. There’s apparently this one guy who works in sales who knows the cars and they send all customers to him…

I helped a friend buy a Mini from Mini of Monrovia, and it was the easiest car buying experience I’ve had. I was approached in the parking lot and told the salesman that I was looking for a specific stock number. He took me to Yahia, the salesmanager. Yahia looked the car up and sent Sam Hassan to find it for me. Sam brought it to the front of the store and not only offered me a test drive, but walked me through the whole car and the associated paperwork. He was very informative and incredibly polite and patient.
The buying process takes a long time, because there are a million choices to consider. Do I go with a longer loan at a higher rate for a lower monthly payment, or pay it off sooner to save interest? Do I want to gamble with an extended warranty or prepaid service? Etc. The good news is that I never felt pressured to make a quick decision that I might regret. The guys ran every number for me backwards and forwards, AND they gave me time to think about it. To make the deal even sweeter, they threw in a key chain.

If you can’t get a service advisor on the phone or leave a message 32 minutes after they open, then it’s a good bet the rest of your experience will be even more frustrating. That’s my bet, so I moved on. You should, too.

This review is just for the service department.
To put it plain and simple the service department is run by clowns. I’m not the type of person to hand out 1 star reviews but their service and organizational strength is just completely lacking. Brought my car here on a Monday for a appointment. I showed up 20 minutes early to be considerate. I was supposed to have a shuttle ready for me to go back to work. I emphasized the importance of this prior to making my appointment because I needed to get back to work. They didn’t have a loaner (they never do) so shuttle was my only choice. That’s fine. Problem is I waited 45 minutes until I just decided to ask a friend for a ride back.
My car was not ready until the day after. Do not make promises you can’t keep.
Wednesday — came in to pick up my car at 10:20. They could not find my paperwork anywhere. The service advisor brings me out to their lot to spot my car by eye. For some reason dude thought my car was black, my car is not black. So they may have misclassified my car. The advisor, Robert was generally pleasant and professional and tried his best to accommodate, but the wasted time, general drag every time I am here cannot go unnoticed. When my car was finally pulled out, the kid pulling it up was told the wrong car. I leased this car with pretty good expectations since I heard great things about mini. It is extremely unlikely my wife and I will lease again from this dealer, just because I don’t want to have to deal with the service department.
I’ve owned Toyohashi, Hondas, Acuras, Chevys and now mini. I’m the type of person that always gets my car dealer serviced and I’ve never experienced such disastrous service before. Good luck to this organization. I’d suggest getting a new GM for the department or something because it is losing them customers.

I’ve been going to this dealership for the past few years and I think I’ve only had 1 good experience. Every time I go, I wait in the lobby for my car to be ready. They always quote me a certain time but it always is WAY longer. They hardly ever update me even though I’m sitting right by them and they NEVER (not once) have a rental car! They always have excuses for not having them, even when they keep my car over night. Once, I was waiting for sooo long (almost 6hours, when they quoted me 2 hours) that the bmw manager felt bad and stepped in and gave me one of their rentals! I have an appointment with them tomorrow so let’s see what their excuse is this time. I would go to a different dealership but this one is the closest.

Absolutely the worst service ever. Service lead Robert is both obnoxious and condescending. Kept my car from Friday till Tuesday. Never answered any calls and I had to go in to the shop to find out what was going on. The car was not even checked!!. Didnt even apologize for their disorganized work flow. Gave me some bs of what was wrong and I had no choice but to do the work. AVOID THEM IF YOU CAN.

This is for my experience with the mini service dept.
From start to finish, this was a great experience. Dropped off my car with little wait time and Anthony was very pleasant to work with. He was unavailable the next day when I called to follow up, but his co worker Robert took the time to follow up with me late that evening as soon as he had the chance. Pick up was easy and there was no pressure to add on other things that they had discovered while working on my car. Much appreciated! Will come back here if I ever have to again.

I had enough of Nick Alexander and decided to change dealers!
Pro– I don’t have to navigate through alameda street for an hour! Instead Monrovia is off the 210 freeway, Mountain exit. You can make appointments online and service area is clean and open. There’s a nice lobby and waiting area with coffee, water and yes, even a popcorn machine. Robert, my advisor was down to earth and was kind enough to give my son a Mini Cooper toy, big plus for me… they like kids.
Con– staff seems disconnected and no on the same page. Parts line was very long and chatty! They also don’t do a good job of following up with calls and messages.

Just bought a certified pre owned Cooper S on Monday. Right off the bat, the radio kept turning on and off. Took the car to fix issue Tuesday morning and went to pick up car today. Did a check around the outside and found big gash on front driver side tire and dent on wheel to match. Service manager and GSM both claim there is no damage to the tires or wheel. Showed the paperwork showing all four tires were replaced before selling car to me and showing no damage to tire and wheel before turning car over for service but dealer still refuses to fix the tire and wheel. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Planning on making a complaint to BMW headquarters and take legal actions if necessary. This is on top of selling me a certified car with broken radio. Also one of the license plate light was out without warning showing on dash. What is up with BMW/​MINI? QC is rock bottom as far as I’m concerned.

My car was having a difficult time starting up especially when the weather was cold. I brought my car to Mini of Monrovia and I told them something was probably wrong with the spark plug since last time the exact same thing happened and Mini of Ontario fixed it with changing the spark plug. I left my car there for 2 days and had pay out of my own pocket for car rental for 2 days since they don’t have a loaner at that time. Yet in the end they told me nothing was wrong with my car and the computer did not detect any problems.
Then I took my car to Mini of ONTARIO, they found the exact problem that I was talking about and they offered me a free car to drive. My car got fixed and I didn’t have to spend extra money to pay for car rental. Oscar was my service advisor and he was polite and professional.
Dear mini drivers, I really recommend mini of Ontario. Even though it might be a little far for you, but they offer free car rental through enterprise if they run out of loaners. Their employees are more friendly than Mini of Monrovia too. I’m not coming back to Monrovia even it’s the closest one near me.

I just picked up my Mini Cooper this morning from Mini of Monrovia. I had a new set of tires put on my little Girl. Larry Rusk was my Service Advisor and he took very good care of me.
I’ve had work done at another Mini Dealership, but the quality of Customer Service was top notch at Mini of Monrovia. Larry Rusk raised the Bar and has earned my continued business from now on. Larry, thank you very much.

The parts department here has become extremely sad ever since Rick has left.
I have a wholesale account here and cannot tell you how many times I’ve received something that was damaged when received. Their employees are less than useful when you come in for will-​call parts as well.
98% of time they’ll be in the back room chatting with each other while the front is understaffed.
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen the parts counter unstaffed and a line formed.
Just recently they tried to pass off a mangled heat exchanger as a new one. When I brought it up with Eric Lee he told me it’s perfectly useable.
What a joke.

they hired a whole new service department and I have to say I am NOT impressed. i have purchased 3 cars from this dealership in the past. In July when it was in for service their service guy scraped my wheel. It wasn’t a big deal because its not my everyday car. I made an appt for august but then due to a family emergency i had to cancel. I told them I’d bring it back later. I went to make an appt and John is no longer in service. Robert said I’d have to send a picture and theyd have to make a determination and it would $ 150 a wheel for repair. I also said the arm rest broke and Robert said they’d have to look at it before they agreed to repair it. WTF? IT BROKE… I’m not driving 50 miles to Monrovia from West Hollywood so your idiot repair guys can LOOK at my car. JUST FIX IT. I’m not dealing with this shit. I’m going to Alexander Mini.

I have been using the same dealer for all of my services since I purchased my car in 2012. They have always been satisfactory. Usually overwhelmingly busy and there’s always a long wait, but services are done on time.
However, this time I was shocked at the level of unprofessionalism I encountered. I felt like I was intentionally being taken advantage of. I went in for my regular periodic check on my car and to have them check out a warning buzzer going off in my passenger seat for the seatbelt, even if the seat is completely empty.
They couldn’t find the problem, which is understandable considering it only happens 50% of the time. But as SOON as I drove away from the dealer, it started again. So they obviously didn’t even drive it, or didn’t drive it very far. They told me that it was probably because I put my purse on the seat, which I had told them I don’t do. Then he told me it was probably the phone interacting with the sensor in the seat — again — no phone — still buzzing.
THEN the real shadiness happened. I arrived to pick up my car and was told that they found a nail in my tire and that I needed to have the tire replaced — costing me over $ 300. I told them there wasn’t a nail in the tire when I got there, and I wasn’t told about this over the phone. He proceeded to tell me it must have been in there… odd since there’s construction all over their property and the tire was hole-​free when I got to the dealer. I told them I had tire warranty, so they would have to replace my tire at their cost. Then all of a sudden he found that it wasn’t a nail in my tire and the tire didn’t have to be replaced after all. WHAT?! If I wouldn’t have questioned it, they would have charged me to replace a tire for no reason!
After these incidents, I wouldn’t be comfortable bringing my car here again unless everything was under warranty. I just don’t trust that they’re actually taking the time to properly care for me and my car.

I want to express what a great experience I had getting my Mini here. I was already driving a Mini and my previous experience was not up to par. Let me just say that you should always drive off the lot with the car your want. From the price, the color, the model all the way down to the the features. I didn’t get the car I wanted previously to coming here, so I searched for another Mini dealership and Mini of Monrovia isn’t as close to me, but really worth the drive.
My sales guy was Yahia. From the very moment we shook hands I told him that I had a really bad experience with the lease of my previous Mini and he took care of me. One thing I really liked is he never pressured me to get a car I didn’t want. In fact, since I didn’t get the color and features with my previous Mini that I had, he suggested that I make my dream Mini online and send it to him and he can help me make it to what I really want. So when I met with him to go over my Mini, he even made upgrade suggestions bringing the price down. Who knew? Then they sent it to production and within a few months I got a call that my Mini had arrived.
I came in to figure out pricing/​payments and ended up being there for 6 hours. Not entirely their fault. You won’t be there as long as I was, everyone is different. I highly recommend you learn about the features in your new Mini and how to use them before you leave. Nothing worse than driving off the lot and trying to find the headlights, connecting your phone, or wondering how to change the stations, etc. it can be a pain and very time consuming trying to figure that out on your own.
Yahia was wonderful and I love love love my Mini very much. What a difference it is to drive around in a car you really wanted.

I drive from San Fernando Valley to take my car to Mini of Monrovia because of terrible experiences with a dealer closer to home.
Mini of Monrovia always has appointments within a couple of days and will offer a loaner car if needed ! I’ve had my car serviced there 3 times all under a 45 min wait.
I was recently having a noise coming from my car and Patrick, my service advisor, instantly knew what I was describing. He stated it might be the wheel bearing and that’s exactly what it was. The same noise that a different Mini dealer said they didn’t hear and to take the car back to them when the noise was worse and louder !
Mini of Monrovia is very professional, clean, friendly, and listen to their customers needs. They strive to provide customers with the best customer service and succeed with flying colors. I choose this dealer over any other !

I’m in love with mini cooper and looking for one that fit me perfect. My sell guy is Yahia, help me out with ordered a car. 6÷29÷2015 i picked up my mini cooperS and he gave me a great deal ever and that still not all that he help me. I got my car out from the dealer with a happy face. Even more happy with the after service!!! Don’t go the wrong guy!!! Yahia is the best!!! If i can give more than 5 star, i will lol++
