Pacific Plate is tiny and thus has a super casual and laid-​back vibe. Nestled in the corner of an industrial center, you enter through the roll up garage door to find large wooden tables perfect for groups. Outside, Big Slim is cooking up food to order. I had the Chili Cheese Fries which were made with large chunks of beef and skinny fries. We had already been drinking prior to arrival so these were perfect for my belly and the taste was great. Unfortunately I can’t remember the exact beers that I enjoyed but I recall that they do have a good amount on the lighter side, which was good for me since I am not huge on IPAs. I appreciated the flavors in each brew and felt that they were unique. Great beer, great food and great prices.

I came here with my friends for Taco Tuesday. Two of my friends are regulars here and spoke very highly of Pacific Plate.
It was my frist time so I split a flight of 8 beers with one of my friends (also a first-​timer). Wow! Every single beer had it’s own distinct flavor and personality. I could not be more please, I enjoyed all 8 of them. Yes, there were some that I liked more than others, but I would drink any one of those and be completely satisfied.
My friend told me they rotate beers every 3 months or so, and some of their beers have charities attached to them. Makes me wish I lived closer so I can be a regular and try the different beers.
Oh! And they had a vendor with a grill set up outside for Taco Tuesday. The food was very inexpensive. The vendor took cash only, but you could pay inside with card.
I definitely want to come back here for the food and for the beer! Great service! Perfect chill environment to catch up with friends or to play one of the board games they have. The artwork was very enjoyable too!

My home away from home. Love this place friendly owners, great beers. Their horchata stout is similar to the stone xocoveza but much better. I have not had any beer that I did not like, the copa de oro, or flan de leche are big hits. On a nice hot day nothing beats the agave wheat. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try

Cool little spot. The beers are pretty good. Staff is helpful. A few tvs to watch some games while you drink away. Food guy out side. He had onion rings. Which is always a plus. Overall its not bad.

There are not many breweries, commercial, large, small or craft where I like all of their offerings, but Pacific Plate is an excellent exception. All of the beers I tried, probably 8 out of 10 they had, were excellent, and I’ve been to breweries from San Diego to Prague. The bratwurst I had from Big Slim, who provides the food there, was also super tasty. One of the owners who served us, Steven, was friendly and knowledgeable (since he does have a BS in chemistry).
I don’t write many reviews, but my experience here was extremely positive.
They only thing missing, and probably not for long, was an angel investor to take this place into a bigger league, because, if ability and knowledge of brewing beer means anything, these guys will be super successful.

Once you find it, you’re set. Big Slims Food was great. The Horchata Stout is amazing. I would drive out of my way to visit Pacific Plate Brewing Company again.

Local Brewery with a local feel! On the way to a Kings game, we stopped here and had a pint. They had one of the best stouts I have ever had. It was a stout with a Mexican feel.
Better yet, it was nestled away in the back of a row of shops. When we rolled up, I felt this is my kind of place. You walk in and the taps are right there. You are greeted by a person, when you look at him, you know he knows beer. They had free snacks with the purchase of a beer and TV’s in their lounge room.
I wish more places around my area had this feel about it, but I was glad to experience it.
Go here and order the stout. Even if you dont like stouts generally, you will like this one

This place is amazing, I spent my 21^st birthday here the customer service is out of this world I got greeted and serviced by the owner Jonathan, honestly the most down to earth person, perfect example of how someone should run there business ! The beer was delicious ! Especially the Mango I.P.A !! That one is a must, my husband enjoyed the horchata stout ! Both of them were amazing ! Will for sure be coming here on our date nights !

Great range of beer if you get their flight. Place is in a small location so I recommend coming with a small group or one other person. You are able to play board games here too.

Nice and consistent beers. The horchata stout is good all year long.
Nice perk: free pretzels and nuts or chips. I’d prefer some more variety on the taps, but appreciate the consistency in quality.

I just went ¹¹⁄₁₉ and it is a cool place. I like that they have a handful of beers because it is easier to pick from. Although, they are all pretty darn tasty. For those who do not or can not drink a large amount of beer, they do have taster or a small cup.
Unfortunately, they currently do not have Mango IPA, they said it would be available in a week. *Hint Hint*
There is no food here but they do have some snacks for customers to grab. Free snacks! Also, they have menus of places nearby so you can call and order.

This place totally blew me away. It’s the Little engine that could!
I drove up and down Myrtle trying to find it for probably 5 minutes but when I finally did, boy was it worth it.
First thing: the Beers. So they are famous for their Horchata Stout and it lives up to its fame. Very rich beer with depth that really develops the deeper into the glass you get.
We also tried the Mango IPA and it just bursts with a tart, fruit flavor that has the piney notes on the back-​end. All in all very pleased with the beer selection. They have about 6 rotating beers on tap and there didn’t seem to be a bad one in the bunch.
The space itself is very industrial in look, with all of the brewing equipment nestled into a garaged area. They have games available to play with your friends while you sip their amazing brews. I highly recommend trying this place out especially on the weekends when they have a local BBQ’ing business catering their place and you can buy these incredible burgers and sausages to pair with your beer!

This is a hidden brewery gem! It’s kind of hard to find because it’s in a section where offices are. When you go into the parking lot it’s on far right side. It’s kind of outdoor and indoor. They have 3 really big tables (good for groups) and individual seats. My friends and I shared the beer flight. It usually comes with 8 but we got 7 because thy didn’t have this one type. Most of the beers were pretty good. Some were stronger than others but it was bearable. What I like about this place is that they provide so many board games/​games! It’s fun to do something while you drink other than talk. You can definitely turn them into drinking games! Love this place! ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would come again! :)

Tried this place because I worked across the street. I consider myself an IPA consumer and so I was surprise about my likes and dislikes here.
First the Bad:
The Widow Maker DIPA wasn’t all that special to me it lacked the hoppy bite that we all love from a DIPA and it didn’t really have those beautiful floral notes and the color was unusual for a DIPA as it was almost Porter-​esque dark. If you were here only for IPA id say try the Mango IPA but I can’t say if it was good or bad as sadly they ran out of it and were still in the brewing process.
The Good:
The Horchata Stout is tremendous. I typically dislike stouts because of its overly heavy body and typically I opt for IPA’s because it’s light and crispy but I found myself ordering a pint of their stout after trying the initial flight. For a stout it’s got easy drink ability and won’t sink you like a stone after a pint. It comes carbonated in Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide. While the Nitro version has a frothy head and looks appealing the deception is in the lack of smell. The N2 suppresses the cinnamon chocolate smell of the beer that you know and love from Horchata. Sure the CO2 lacks the visual appeal but I value the smell and taste much more in beer. The Copa de Oro has a sweet spiced Saison like quality to it that I kind of enjoyed.
The great:
They have a ton of board games and also they have boxes of Cape Cod Jalapeño Chips on the house. You can’t beat free snacks with beer.
All in all I kind of love this place. It’s a quiet spot to get a drink in after a hard days work, but also an awesome place to bring friends on a Friday night to support the local brews.

Horchata stout!!! Shamon, who in the world thought of horchata beer… I wanted a keg of it during my graduation party from grad school but they ran out… not hard to believe when it is one of the most refreshing beers I’ve ever had.
If you follow them on fb, they post events. For example their 2^nd anniversary event on Saturday for $ 30. I believe that gets you a meal for two (tri tip and ribs) and some beer! Can’t wait to have some of big slim’s cooking and some beer!

Small brewery in a warehouse building. It’s tucked away in the back corner of the parking lot to a warehouse. so be on the lookout for it, because it’s a little difficult to find. It’s super casual and set up more like a backyard patio. Apparently the owners were chemistry grads, and then decided to make beer and do what they love instead. — Awesome :)
$ 5 pints/​tulips on Mondays and Tuesdays. And free snacks!!! YUM.
I would definitely recommend getting the tasters flight if it’s your first time here. It’s $ 2 each taster, but they give you $ 1 off if you get the flight. They also rotate their beers, so you’ll always try something new!
My favorite was definitely the Bavarian Hef or the Agave Wheat, because I like lighter beers and my taste for beer isn’t super developed yet. The boys that were into wheatier (darker?) beers enjoyed the Copa de Oro, Nut Brown, and XPA. The horchata stout had a slight horchata flavor — which becomes more pronounced if you eat some pretzels with it… The mango IPA smelled wonderful and sorta like mango green tea, ha. The San Gabriel Spring Ale definitely tasted the most «different» compared to all the other beers. It was more floral and possibly sweet? I didn’t enjoy it that much, but all the boys lovedddd this one.
Anyway, just get the flight and try all of them yourself! Though my suggestion is to take pics of the descriptions of the beers so you can try to taste the different flavors. I wish they wrote down the flavors on the tasting card they give you, but they just write the names :(

First of all, any brewery that is dog-​friendly is usually an automatic 5-​stars in my book. So yes, I definitely grade on a curve for any place that allows my furbaby. But to be honest, I think the beers here are 4-​stars, but the staff (Jonathan) and their 4-​legged policy definitely made me round up.
So Pacific Plate has been around since August 2013. At first I thought they served food, but the plate in their name refers to the tectonic kind as in earthquakes. However, unlike many of the seismic activities along the Pacific Plate, their beers are not very strong. However, what they lack in alcohol by volume (ABV) they do make up in flavor.
We ended up ordering a flight of all the beers available on Saturday March 7^th. There were only seven available because their Mango IPA had been tapped out. My favorite beer was the Kölsch. At first sip I thought «hmmph that was light», but on second and third sips I really tasted the fruity flavor that subtly tasted like green grapes.
Now their claim to fame has to be their Horchata Stout and this beer was definitely tasty. You could taste the rich nutty horchata flavor in each sip. At 5.2% though, I just wished it was a little stronger. After all, if I am going to get a beer belly, I want to get buzzed!
The beer that my wife liked the most was the Blackwidow IPA. This beer was 9.7% and had hoppy notes. I think she liked it because it was the color of our furbaby Charlie (black) and because maybe she read about black widows. After all, you are what you drink LOL. Good thing we do not have offspring! And on second thought, maybe I should not have signed that life insurance policy… On a serious note, this beer was a close second to the Kölsch in my opinion.
Two other beers that were interesting were the Cardomom Ginger Saison which definitely had a ginger kick to it and the Copa De Oro that tasted like a Hoegaarden with orange zest.
Pacific Plate also has a popcorn machine where you can get complimentary popcorn as well as a ton of board games to play while you get your drink on.
For a relatively new brewery, Pacific Plate is doing a really great job and is worth a visit if you visit Monrovia. I might argue that Pacific Plate makes Monrovia a destination city now.
*I thought it was funny that the initials for Pacific Plate are PP. I would definitely drink this PP.

Diverse, yet simple beer menu dabbling in spanish flavor profiles like their AWESOME Oaxaca Coffee Stout!
These are genuine proprietors with a really good idea. Personally, I only favored half of the menu for my tastings, as I am particular to stouts and IPAs. I LOVED the Oaxcaa Coffee Stout. The IPA was a good standard; but nothing to Unilocal about. I actually did not like the Horchata Milk Stout too much, even though I like horchata.
Don’t be discouraged though, these brewers seem to favor the new and exciting. So be prepared for some interesting flavor combos in upcoming brews! Adventurous tastebuds please apply!
The location is great! A nod to San Diego breweries, it was in a commerical plaza with a flood gate entrance and an open-​air brew room. Filled with picnic tables, TVs and BOARD GAMES for customers! Ample seating, good vibes, adventurous offerings, and an interactive/​immersive space scream for my 4-​Star review.

Showed up on a Friday night ready to get my drank on. Jonathan was at the register and was super duper welcoming. When he realized that it was our first time there, he was informative with the beers which helped us make our choices for the night. We were able to squeeze in at a picnic table with a family that didn’t mind us sharing the bench with them and their kids. They were playing board games and having a blast. The place is a bit on the small side and its a bit difficult to find a spot to chill at if you come with a handful of friends or on a weekend. You might just end up standing with your beer while waiting for a seat to open up.
What mainly attracted us to this spot was the horchata stout. I was sure glad they had it available because it was delicious. It is for sure a must try for anyone that is a fan of the drink. We had a sampler with a few other beers such as their copa de oro and my favorite… the widowmaker ipa. The widowmaker IPA is very hoppy which totally hit my spot. They have a mango ipa, that one is ok. A bit more light and citrus-​y even though mango isn’t a citrus. Their beer selection changes every so often so keep an eye out for new flavors you haven’t tried yet.
I really liked how even though it was closing time, the didn’t pressure us to leave. If you get hungry they have a taco truck outside. We saw the family order a hugeeee platter of nachos and quickly we realized that we too were hungry. I swear! It was one of those bake sheets, full of chips, cheese, chicken! So good! (food changes too so keep an eye out for new taco trucks out there) Beer, nachos, and friends. great spot to hang out for sure.
