Panoramic View

I came here after the busy season, and the place (Montauk) in general was almost empty. This is what I was looking for, but the silent comes with a price. The pool was closed, many restaurants are closed. And the feeling is that you are there by yourself (I love it!)
The hotel is small and cute, and offer nice view of the ocean (as you can see on the pictures). They have no place for coffee ir for a snack, so you will have to walk to the next hotel.
It is not a high class hotel, more like 3 – 4 stars, but it did the job, and we enjoyed our stay here. I don’t think I’ll be back here, but did enjoy my stay here.

My favorite hotel to stay at when I’m in montauk this was my second year staying here and I loved it. It’s always so clean, amazing view, very quiet. Just about a mile from downtown. The staff is always friendly. If you’re a repeat customer you get a discount on your next stay!

Would normally give the Panoramic 4 stars, but this year their rates changed and they do not follow the 2015 rate chart posted on their website. After trying to book a 2 night/​3 day stay in June, the receptionist told me that Sunday would be considered a weekend rate at $ 395 and Monday would be 295… after taxes it would have been over $ 700-​for a studio!
This isn’t anywhere near the studio rates offered at $ 175 on their schedule. Upon my questioning, she then further explained those rates actually only apply through June 11^th. I’ve been a loyal guest for 15+ years and after explaining this to the representative I was told the system locks its prices and she wouldn’t be able to help me. Thanks, but no thanks. I already booked another hotel for a better rate with more amenities. After all the bad press the Panoramic has recieved over the last 2 years you’d really think they’d appreciate their loyal customers rather than alienate them. Glad I found a new place to spend my Summer vacation. #sorrynotsorry.

We had a 2 bed studio, right above the pool. The view was fantastic! The beach was basically a private beach, and the pool was the perfect size. However, there is no hot tub at the pool. In the hotel room, the bathroom needed updating, but other than that, the room was very clean and in really great shape. The beds have white linens, there was a small HD flat screen, and a breathtaking view from the patio. For the price, this resort really is a great destination for your vacation in Montauk! Also — our room had free-​wfi, which is a great amenity.
The reason I took away the star is the management’s staff. When we called the front desk to see their availability, a woman said there was a studio available with both a king and queen size bed. When we called a second time to book the room, we confirmed again the type of beds in the room — king and queen. Unfortunately when we got to the room, there was a twin bed instead of a queen bed. We told the management staff when we were departing, and unfortunately they weren’t too nice about it. They actually told us they don’t even have any queen beds at the resort. Unfortunately they didn’t offer to do anything for us or offer us a sincere apology. Just make sure you know what you’re getting when you book. We thought we did, but that turned out to not be the case. Other than that, enjoy the beautiful resort!

The view is what warrants the stars. The room gets 1 star. The bathroom is very old and small. The window unit ac located near the floor was inadequate. Thankfully it hasn’t been a hot August. The check-​in lady seemed disappointed upon our arrival. For the price-​no thanks.

Here for the third year in a row. It is a great resort with amazing views. The bathrooms could definitely use some updating but your not booking a room cause they have great bathrooms. Just be wary of which room you pick at The Highpoint because even though they are all the same price, the view and the outdoor area outside of your room is different in each one.

Stayed here last weekend and the view was awesome. Stayed in top floor valley view room. Didn’t really see much of the staff and didn’t require any maid service so can’t compliment on that. The rooms are very white and simple and it was super clean. Has a condo feel to it and we enjoyed every minute of it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The place is fabulous! We were looking for a spot that had beach access, but not right in Montauk, hoping to avoid the crowds and have a laid back getaway and we found it.
Landscaped grounds are meticulously maintained. Rooms are spotless and all have fab views of the beach and a private balcony/​patio with lounge chairs, huge king size bed, free wifi and a small, outdated kitchenette. Not really enough room to cook large meals — but the small fridge, dishes, silverware and glasses enabled us to save leftovers and eat a few simple meals and snacks inside — not to mention keep our wine chilled!
The beach is a short, STEEP, walk away and is staffed with folks to give you towels, set you up with an umbrella and cold water.
The slice of beach is lovely and mostly quiet, especially since we visited during the week.
Check in staff seems like they couldn’t be bothered, but once checked it — I don’t require much. The rest of the staff — housekeeping, grounds, folks at the beach are all super nice.
A few tips — if you don’t want to be woken up with the morning sunrise, try to avoid an east facing room — the curtains don’t block out all of the sun and you’ll be up early.
Another reason to avoid east facing on the weekend: Guerneys is right next door and they often have weddings and parties and play loud music which can get pretty old if you’re looking for a quiet beach experience.

This place is dreamy. I also benefited from the groupon deal and came here for a relaxing two days in April. It was perfect. We had a one bedroom suite with a small grass patio right over the ocean. We were perched on a hill so had an amazing view. The walk down to the beach was only five minutes and then you could walk in either direction for as long as you wanted with hardly anyone around. Beautiful.
Kitchenette was perfect. The hotel is about three miles out of town and we didn’t rent a car. We took a taxi from the train station, which was about $ 14. One day we walked into town along the beach, so you definitely don’t need a car to stay here.
The staff was really friendly. The highlight was definitely the view, it was so stunning. It was well worth the visit and I already want to go back.
Free wi-​fi was also a perk.

Recently this hotel was on groupon for almost half the regular room rates. I’ve been wanting to go to MTK for some time and couldn’t pass this special up. When I called to make the reservation the woman i on the phone with was very pleasant and help. In fact I had to call back and change the dates which was very easy to do. They were very accommodating! My bf and I checked in Friday afternoon. We were reassured that we got a great room. She wasn’t kidding! We walked and said «thank god». You never know with this hotels that give crazy specials and plus MTK is full of gross motel type places. The room had an ideal view of the ocean and a balcony to take it all in. It was very clean and well stocked with the essentials. I cannot stress how happy and pleased we were with the staff and status of this hotel. There really is no reason to stay anywhere else in MTK. It was a short car ride into town and walking distance to the beach. I might even go as far as to requesting the same room.

I stayed here with my girl for two nights on the 2^nd & 3^rd of March. Since it was off-​season Groupon was having a special for $ 225 which is about 50 percent off. Taxes were not included which came out to an additional $ 26 but it was well worth it. The staff at the office were friendly enough to let me go for a couple cents I didn’t have on hand. The room’s classic wooden furniture was painted all white which really accentuated the view that projected a heavenly angelic ambiance. The room also had a balcony with beach chairs, a small table and two more chairs.
The beautiful beachfront view was breathtaking. Where else can you wake up to the soft sound of the waves crashing? There was a stone staircase which led you directly to the beach.
The kitchenette was fully equipped with dishes and silverware and even had a tiny bottle of dish washing fluid and sponge. Although, the pink bathroom was outdated; there were plenty of fresh towels. One misstep was that only one roll of toilet paper was provided. A nightmare for a frequent bathroom goer like myself. The wi-​fi was also extremely slow but the view made up for it a thousand fold. The king size bed was soft and had plenty of pillows to prop up any part of your body as you desire. The ice machine was conveniently located two steps outside my room as well.
This romantic getaway was certainly a steal for the price. Check-​out was simple and just had to drop the key off at the office. It was hard to leave the priceless Panoramic View that made me feel so princely. It is really all about the view at Panoramic View.

This is a great place if you’re visiting Montauk. The service is excellent– friendly, professional, helpful. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and the view was absolutely amazing. In addition to all of this, the beach is great, and it’s a short drive to the main part of the city with plenty of restaurants and a few supermarkets if you want to bring something back to the hotel and eat while watching the water. We will go back again.

we are just packing up now from our two day quick gettaway and wanted to send this quick review. the place is great! the staff is friendly and all smile from the office staff to the maintanance crew. the grounds are impecable the ocean and beach is the best. our room was very clean but a little dated but all in good clean condition and clean smelling. pool is very nice (a bit chilly though) all new free wifi couldnt be happier with the whole experience. we just came back from a walk and breakfast to Gurneys next door. the absolute worst ever. the staff is angry and not nice! we love the panoramic!!!

First time staying at this hotel was June this year with a bunch of my girlfriends. We got the Seagull cottage and the location just took our breathe away. Beach front, with a private BBQ area with table and lawn chairs. This place is rustic yet chic. The décor is simple and minimal. The place was clean and the staff was very nice/​friendly. Although they don’t have an on-​site dining amentity, but with Gurney’s being a short walk away (a nice walk thru the garden or on the beach), it’s a nice way to break up the day by having somewhere else to go to.
I loved it so much that my husband and I went back over 4^th of July weekend. This time we stayed at a regular room overlooking the beach. Small kitchenette equipped with coffee maker, plates/​silverware, glassware. Bathroom offers plenty of room. This is definitely going to be a regular place for us to stay at when we go to Montauk!

Located at «The End» (or if you are a local «The Beginning») of Long Island is a hamlet located within the city of East Hampton called Montauk. This little piece of land hosts six state parks, the fourth oldest lighthouse in the United States, countless restaurants, and less than 4,000 residents. It is known for its beautiful beaches, great fishing, and of course with that comes amazing seafood.
Located on 10 breathtaking acres of ocean front property, Panoramic View seriously blew me away from the moment I arrived at 272 Old Montauk Highway. As I entered the driveway and drove down to the parking area, I was welcomed with a spectacular view of the Atlantic. I knew right at that moment that this place was something special.
Checking in at the front office was a piece of cake. The staff at Panoramic View made it clear that if I needed anything they were just a quick phone call away. Okay so I got the keys to the beachfront cottage… time to check in! I was given the «Sandpiper» cottage, which was located right off the beach. How cool is that!
The 2-​bedroom, 2-​bathroom cottage offered great features like my very own private patio and a nice size front porch. The living room looked out onto the beach via a huge window that indeed gave me a panoramic view. The living room also had a table for meals, a chilly A/​C unit in the wall (individually controlled heat is available during the colder months), a comfy couch, and an equally soft chair.
The television was equipped with cable and I even had my very own fireplace. As much as I was tempted to light up a burning fire in my beach cottage, I decided to just leave it alone… especially since it was 85 degrees outside.
The kitchen was cozy and gave off that beachfront cottage vibe. It was equipped with dishes, cups, a toaster, microwave, wine opener, can opener, silverware, ice trays, and many other necessities that came in handy during my stay.
After browsing the kitchen, it was time to check out the rest of this place. So I walked up a few steps to see that this little cottage had much more to offer.
I found two huge bedrooms that each had an enormous king size bed in them. Both rooms were also equipped with cable television, plenty of lights, and air conditioner units. The two bathrooms were stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and a few days worth of quality towels and hand/​face rags.
In the hallway closet was an iron and ironing board, a swiffer floor cleaner (in case you have any accidents), and a flashlight (which comes in handy since it is so dark by the beach at night).
What made Panoramic View also pretty special was the location of the resort. Although it is nestled away on a private beach off of Old Montauk Highway, I was able to hop in my car and be in the busy downtown area within five minutes.
I also hit up popular locales in Montauk, like the famous lighthouse and Gosman’s Dock, within a ten minute by car. If you are without an automobile, do not fret, just simply hop on an LIRR train to Montauk and then grab a taxi at the station.

F Gurneys. This place rocks and its next door. If you are looking for a low key place to stay on the East End and find the usual Hamptons culture heinous than look no further and book a room/​suite here. Nothing too fancy, but every room has gorgeous view of the ocean and if you appreciate the kitsch style qualities of 50’s retro motels, this is your place too. If 50’s architecture is your thing, check out Culloden Point’s
