We support small businesses in their efforts to grow through small business marketing, online marketing, and marketing plan development and we help them develop organizations that can handle steady growth over time. We both coach and perform marketing work for our clients and our goal is to develop 10 – 15 new prospects per week to enable regular growth and avoid feast or famine cycles.

History

Established in 2006.

We have coached and consulted with large businesses (up to $ 4B) and have helped hundreds of small businesses establish and reach their goals.

Michael has also supported the Executive Office of the President and served as a member of the Staff of the Commandant of the Marine Corps. He has a 20 year history as a small business owner and entrepreneur.

Business Owner

Michael Nelson founded the Cogent Consulting Group in 2006 in order to bring large business methods into the small business world. Too many times entrepreneurs with great ideas and skills are defeated by the chaos of the small business environment and Michael has created a system to develop small business organizations that can run smoothly, establish goals and reach those goals.

Michael has in his past served as a Naval Aviator in the United States Marine Corps, spent three years on the Staff of the Commandant of the Marine Corps, been a strategy consultant to the executive leadership of billion dollar companies, advised the Executive Office of the President on strategic planning, and been a lifelong entrepreneur with particular interests in creating organizations that use automation, have clear direction, and market effectively to grow.
