Dot Reeder is a beautiful boutique. There’s everything from shoes to coats to jewelry. You can definitely find something here if you are shopping for a fashionista friend. Yes, the store is SUPER expensive so I recommend following the store on facebook for any upcoming sales. Even the sale prices can make you gasp but honestly I do think the owner really cares about each item. What I mean is, she puts in a great effort into finding pieces that are high quality, functional, unique, and trendy. I bought a winter coat here and it held up without a problem– plus it looks amazing. I believe this a store that you buy pieces to invest in. Happy shopping. P. s awesome customer service as well!

I LOVE Dot Reeder! There is always an incredible selection of clothing, shoes, bags, perfume, jewelry, etc. The owner, Laura, has great style and selects excellent pieces that will last from season to season; classics with a contemporary feel. She and her great staff are always friendly and helpful. Dot Reeder is an oasis of cool; an awesome boutique that we are really lucky to have in Montclair.

I have been an avid shopper at Dot Reeder since moving into town and give Laura (the owner) credit for really refining what she carries to suit nearly everyone. Coming from NYC, it is hard to find any shops in town that have anything sophisticated enough for my taste but she nails it with everything from classy, trendy, casual, work, evening, etc… Dot Reeder has it all. Offers a great price range and style range. Every time I am in there, either Laura or one of the other associates are super friendly and helpful — without being overbearing at all.
I know the (current only) other reviewer mentioned that everything seemed way too expensive — being a mom of two, I don’t have a huge budget but I always find something that fits what I can afford. Tip for those also on a budget or trying to save a buck: Dot Reeder offers a 20% off coupon (one item) in the town coupon booklets. Awesome. Plus, there is usually a rack up front with sales items. Bonus.

If you like $ 160 t-​shirts, then you might like Dot Reeder. I wandered into the boutique as I am fairly new to the Watchung Avenue shop scene. There were some pretty nice items on the outside sale rack, but even the sale prices were enough to break the bank! They carry a limited selection of brands, but the ones that resonated with me were James Perse and Tracy Reese, Plenty. While I liked some of the items, they weren’t practical or compelling enough to make me want to spend hundreds of dollars. They also have some jewelry, bags, and other accessories that are equally as expensive. The help was pretty nice and offered assistance as soon as I walked in the door. Unfortunately, I don’t particularly love the pieces that they carry so they’re very overpriced to me. I feel you can find similar clothes for a lot less and therefore have a more diverse wardrobe. Maybe in the fall…
