I stopped here for lunch since I was working around the area. If your a BBQ sauce lover then the«Bang burger» is just the burger for you. I’m not crazy about BBQ sauce but I must admit with the exaggerated amount of sauce that my burger had it was still delicious. I would definitely go back soon with my loved ones to try it out again with them. It’s definitely worth another visit. Prices seemed pretty reasonable too.

A great place to order delicious wrap or sandwich platters to go for our tennis groups! I love their Greek chicken salad or Cobb salad wraps especially. Very nice sandwich options. Also a good place to dine in for a quick lunch or light dinner. I often opt for their Cobb salad. Wonderful hummus. Many vegetarian options, and ask for some of those wraps or sandwiches on any platter for a group. Their big cold or warm sandwiches are BIG. I don’t eat bacon often but they cook it beautifully here(for Cobb salad and some of the wraps, sandwiches, etcetera).

Recently moved to town and already see myself being a regular here. I picked up a grilled chicken club one day, which is one of my favorite sandwiches next to the turkey club, and it was great — perfect amount of turkey, bacon, and more importantly MAYO. It’s my favorite condiment and I always feel weird asking for more when they skimp on my sandwiches, but Jackie’s got it just right. Came in soon thereafter for breakfast on a Saturday morning for a very pleasant meal. I got an egg white omelette with an almond milk latte and left very satisfied. I usually can’t stand when restaurants advertise roasted potatoes as home friends because its usually only seasoned with salt and pepper, if at all. This place gets it right and they are actual well seasoned home fries. Great fast casual spot in right in the heart of Upper Montclair!

I’ve been coming to Jackie’s for their Greek Salads! It’s the best I’ve ever had and I hold a serious standard! They do not include anchovies, which was a bummer when I found out, but they make up for it. They top the salad with this bright pink pickled? cabbage?(not sure what it is exactly) that adds a perfect bounce of acid to the salad. The feta is the perfect consistency and their grape leaves never disappoint. The place itself is very cute for a café but it doesn’t have much seating. The only thing stopping me from the 5 star review is really the service. It’s definitely not BAD but I’ve been there quite often(and in a row matter of fact) and they never seem to do anything beyond taking your order and getting your food to you. I expected more homey vibes from the staff; things such as recognizing their reoccurring customers, smiling more, more eye contact. I’ve only been during lunch time which is usually pretty busy but this holds true even when there are only1−2 people in the establishment. The place does offer a nice array of healthy food options and their smoothies/fresh blended drinks are actually quite delicious. The place I recommend overall for a healthy corporate lunch. They do a bang up job on their food!

Stopped here for a quick lunch and decided to get the Big Bang — BBQ chicken, bacon, melted mozzarella on an Italian roll. Right up my alley but at a premium price. It was pretty good but not sure it’s worth almost $ 10, however it was certainly better than trying to replicate the same thing at say Subway. My friend got a Turkey club and we got some drinks but it all somehow came to just under $ 30 bucks. Food was good service was good, but whoa. It seems being up this way draws high asking prices. Or could be this area isn’t in as much competition as far as food as say lower montclair. I’m not sure I’d make another special trip here but besides the costs that made me do a double take it was a pretty good first visit.

Hummus as good as my moms! Staff is so friendly, something you don’t see too much anymore. I will definitely come back and try many other items, especially that eggplant salad I sampled

I must say, the food here is not only great but the personable service I received here is unmatched. Came in during the Snowmageddon of January ’16 and had the roast beef sandwich while I worked on my laptop. I was amazed, they were the only place on Valley open that day. They were an oasis for some of the neighborhood folks and families that were out for whatever reason. Anyway, tried to get an Über home and came to find out all transportation options were shut down. When the owner found out I was going to be walking the 1.5 miles back home in the snow, he insisted on dropping me home as he was heading home. It was like a gift from the heavens! This neighborly display is one of the reasons I love Montclair and why Jackie’s is set apart in my book. Btw their roast beef sandwich and fries are killer! Rich

Came here with a friend. I had the Portobello Mushroom Burger and a juiced beverage(had carrot, apple, pineapple, was very yummy). The burger came with swiss cheese, but overall I was pretty disappointed considering the really great reviews. The portobello burger wasn’t bad but it wasn’t really good either. Maybe I just had high expectations. I was not a fan of the fries. I prefer mine smaller and lighter, these seem overly battered and heavy. Loved the juice though! I like the casual dining ambiance, no table waiting, but they bring you your food and you can pay when you leave. Staff are really nice! I’ll come back in the summer and see if I find another sandwich that’s better.

Decided to give Jackies grillette a try for lunch this afternoon after having not visiting for over a year now. Walked in and didn’t receive the best of welcomes from the small eatery. The place is well packed. I managed to find a table near the order line. Bad idea. As we were swamped really tightly by customers. Aside from that. My order came in with tomatoes when I specifically asked for no tomatoes 3 times. Luckily for them it’s a preference thing and not an allergy or they’d be in trouble. Aside from that my wrap.(Chicken cutlet BLT) wasn’t the best thing I’ve eaten. Actually rather bland. Conclusion: Jackies Grillette is a good spot to call ahead and order take out sandwiches and salads for picnics and events. Not so well for dining in. if you come here expect to dent the Wallet a little as the prices are on the rather high side. For half of what I spent, I’d rather take a few extra steps into Veggie heaven for delicious and affordable lunch specials.

I was craving a smoothie and sadly, there is no Jamba Juice in Montclair. I tried out a kale smoothie and was delighted that it tasted nice and fruity — a good blend. And more reasonably priced than some other juice bars in the area. Also tried out the gyro sandwich and a side of falafel. The lamb gyro was really good — nice thick chunks of meat instead of the thin slices I am accustomed to — and the falafel was solid, though a little dry. Overall though, everything tasted great and I felt pretty good about my food choices at the end of the day. Will be back for more!

Also, the place is small but feels very homey and cozy. Definitely eating there next time! What I ordered: Turkey Triple Decker sandwich — Delicious Chicken Parmesan sandwich. — Delicious

Very cool comfortable place to eat with 1 or 2 people. Nice music playing and the place is clean. Staff is friendly and warm and have I mentioned the best part??? The food is DELICIOUS!!! We had Jackie’s Special which is home baked roast beef, bacon, Swiss, coleslaw, Russian dressing on an Italian hero. We also had the Sante Fe which includes grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, basil & balsamic dressing on an Italian hero.
